Nearby is Battery Point, a historic district with narrow lanes and colonial-era cottages.
The Tasman Bridge is a five-lane bridge crossing the Derwent River, near the CBD of Hobart, Tasmania. The bridge has a total length (including approaches) of 1,396 metres (4,576 ft). As part of the Tasman Highway, it provides the main traffic route from the CBD (on the western shore) to the eastern shore.

Australia - Tasmania - Hobart, Mount Wellington & Boat Trip
In the second video instalment from Tasmania we head up to the top of Mount Wellington, the views of Hobart and the surrounding area were absolutely breathtaking... as was the icy cold wind. After a visit to the Shot Tower at Taroona we headed back to have a walk around the port in Hobart. The following day we visited a replica of Douglas Mawson's Hut which houses a fascinating museum about the his Antarctic expedition, after that we headed out on a great boat trip with Finn from Pennicott Wilderness Journeys.

Tasmania, Australia
Recorded January 4-9, 2007
My six night stay in the Australian state of Tasmania. I base my stay in the capital city of Hobart where I drive to the top of Mount Wellington. From Hobart I take several day-trips. My first day trip was a scenic boat ride to the historic penal colony, Port Arthur. My next excursion was into the Huon Valley where I took a jet boat trip on the Huon River and visited the Tahune Forest Airwalk. Next was a scenic boat ride around Bruny Island. The final excursion was a scenic airplane flight to the Southwest World Heritage National Park where I took a boat ride around Bathurst Harbour. The video concludes with a visit to Mount Field National Park.

Hobart | Tasmania Travel Diary
Sometimes it takes a while to see the wonders in your own backyard. This was my first trip to Tasmania, the tiny island state off the south east coast of Australia. Its capital Hobart is a harbour city for food lovers that buzzes on weekends, with the famous Salamanca Market stretching for miles, and the edgy art gallery MONA attracting an international audience.

When ready, browse vacation packages to Hobart:
The onetime penal colony of #Hobart is located between Mount Wellington and Port Hobart, and features a number of exquisite colonial buildings in breathtaking natural surroundings.
There’s a variety of things to do on #vacation in the city, so chow down on seafood from a waterfront restaurant before stopping by one of the galleries built into old whale oil warehouses. Don’t forget to check out the Hobart Theatre, a must-see on any Hobart tour.
Hobart #sightseeing will no doubt include the Maritime Museum, which celebrates Hobart’s ties to the sea. Go for a sail on the Lady Nelson, a tall ship that makes regular excursions out to the harbor.
Head to MONA, the Museum of Old and New Art. This building descends three floors down into the cliffs surrounding it, and its often dark-natured artwork is featured in vast, cavernous spaces.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

2017 Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, Taste of Tasmania, Hobart yachts, Constitution dock Hobart,
We had a wander around the Hobart waterfront where most of the Sydney Hobart racing yachts, well the bigger ones had arrived and parked and what a sight that was. None of the Melbourne Hobart yachts had arrived at this stage so no pictures of them. We than wandered around the docks to the Taste of Tasmania food festival..WOW.. what a great set up and plenty of seating room now the Taste has extended out onto Salamanca Place. Several music stages had all types of live music happening all very exciting, Well done Hobart..

Hobart City Video Guide | Expedia
Hobart is located in Tasmania, Australia's southernmost state.
Originally an infamous penal colony, Hobart is a place where the old and new meet, right at the edge of a pristine wilderness.
The waterfront is where early settlers first stepped ashore, and today the docks make a perfect place to start your adventures. Visit Australia's oldest brewery, which is still in business today.
The Maritime Museum is a great place to gain an insight into just how important the ocean has always been to this remote place. Help set the rigging, trim the sails, and take a turn at the helm of the Lady Nelson.
A short stroll from the waterfront is Salamanca Market, a local institution for over 30 years.
Learn about the great southern wilderness and those who tried to conquer it at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. For artwork of a more controversial nature take a ride upriver to Mona - The museum of old and new art.
South east of Hobart is Australia's version of Alcatraz, the convict settlement of Port Arthur.
Don't leave the city without a trip to the top of Mount Wellington, where you can imagine Hobart as it was 200 years ago.
It's clear from the moment you arrive that this old city now beats with a young and creative heart.
