TORONTO: GREEK TOWN, a walking tour (Canada) ????
SUBSCRIBE: - Greek Town, a walking tour, Toronto (Canada)! Let's go for a walk around what is called 'Greek Town' in beautiful Toronto, Canada. Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com. Toronto, the capital of the province of Ontario, is a major Canadian city along Lake Ontario’s northwestern shore. It's a dynamic metropolis with a core of soaring skyscrapers, all dwarfed by the iconic, free-standing CN Tower. Toronto also has many green spaces, from the orderly oval of Queen’s Park to 400-acre High Park and its trails, sports facilities and zoo.
Canada is a North American country stretching from the U.S. in the south to the Arctic Circle in the north. Major cities include massive Toronto, west coast film centre Vancouver, French-speaking Montréal and Québec City, and capital city Ottawa. Canada's vast swaths of wilderness include lake-filled Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains. It's also home to Niagara Falls, a famous group of massive waterfalls.

Niagara on the Lake, Near Falls, Theater, Wineries Trip, Men & Women, Awesome over 50 Inspiration
We wanted to share our day trip to Niagara on the Lake. It's just a 30 minute car, bus or taxi ride from Niagara Falls and we had so much fun! We watched an awesome play at the Shaw Festival theater called Brigadoon (it was awesome!) & noticed they have 3 theatres there with musicals, dramas & almost every kind of genre of plays available. We also took in some of the old world charm in this historic town with horse & buggy rides, century old bed & breakfasts near the river and awesome shopping spots for gifts, clothes and other artistic, creative items. We also share our visits to close by wineries that surround Niagara on the Lake where there were great tastings and some even had live musical entertainment. Although many men and women viewers to our video vlogs are over 50, this fun vacation get away Youtube video could be of interest to a man or women in their thirties or forties too that would like to take in the wonderful vibes in this beautiful town near Niagara Falls.
Check out upcoming plays at the Shaw Festival at

Niagara Falls and Niagara On The Lake + Favourite Wineries
Niagara-On-The-Lake is hands down one of my fave places to visit each year, and what luck, it's only a 6 hour drive from Ottawa! People are often surprised by the amazing wine that Ontario has to offer, but also how beautiful this area is.
Louis and I decided to get a little rugged and actually bike from winery to winery. That was short lived. With 35 degree weather and not to mention the wine, biking is not necessarily a good idea haha, although it was fun!
We visit the area every summer and try new wineries each time, although Chateau Des Charmes is a staple for us...I hope you guys enjoy this one!
✂ Niagara Falls Anniversary Vlog
Niagara Falls is very nostalgic for us as we visited this flashy touristy town when we first started dating. It was so fun to revisit and walk around Niagara on the Lake as well!

The town is home to the Shaw Festival, a series of theatrical productions featuring the works of George Bernard Shaw, his contemporaries, or plays about his era (1856–1950), running from April to November. The festival operates three theatres in the centre of town: the Festival, Royal George, and Court House theatres, and features one of a repertory acting company, scenic staff, and collection of resident and guest directors considered some of the best in the English-speaking world.
The surrounding region enjoys a comparatively mild climate thanks to the adjoining lakes, and excellent soil for fruit production, for which it has become one of Canada's centres. In particular, NOTL has grown into a major viticultural region. Visitors flock to dozens of nearby wineries, including those making the world's largest volumes of ice wine. The town is also known for its gardens, art galleries, antique shops, and golf courses. There are many hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts, vacation rentals and spas in the area.
Historic sites
Most of the former military sites, such as Fort George, Navy Hall, and Butler's Barracks, have been restored. Fort George's restoration was done as a Make Work Project, guided by plans from the Royal Engineers, during the Great Depression of the 1930s, an early example of historic preservation. Fort George National Historic Site is a focal point in a collection of War of 1812 sites which, collectively, are managed by Parks Canada under the name Niagara National Historic Sites. That administrative name includes several national historic sites: Fort Mississauga, Mississauga Point Lighthouse (1804, the first on the Great Lakes), Navy Hall, Butler's Barracks, and Queenston Heights.
Niagara-on-the-Lake teems with historical plaques, many national and provincial, reflecting its significance in the establishment of many of the province's institutions. Among these were its first newspaper, lending library, parliament, historical museum, and governing body for the legal profession. Critical battles in the defence of Upper Canada took place here, at Queenston, including one in which heroine Laura Secord gained her fame. The town gave many black Americans their first taste of freedom, both as a stop on the Underground railroad for those travelling further into Upper Canada, and as a refuge in its own right. Its stock of Regency and Classical Revival buildings, considered the best in the country from the post-War of 1812 period, led the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada to recommend that the town's historic district be designated a National Historic Site of Canada, a designation which was approved in 2003.The historic centre had already been designated as a provincial Heritage Conservation District under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1986. And, although it did not make the final list, the Historic District was considered for nomination as a World Heritage Site.
Other significant sites in Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL):
The town contains other National Historic Sites of Canada within its boundaries: the Battlefield of Fort George and nearby Fort George, Butler's Barracks, Fort Drummond, Fort Mississauga, the site of the Mississauga Point Lighthouse, the Niagara Apothecary (the oldest apothecary in Canada), the Niagara District Court House, Queenston Heights, Queenston-Chippawa Hydro-electric Plant, Willowbank and Vrooman's Battery.
Old Court House Theatre 1847
St. Mark's Church 1791 - oldest Anglican Church in Ontario
St. Vincent de Paul 1826 - oldest Catholic Church in Ontario
McFarland House, built ca. 1800, is the oldest surviving building in Niagara-on-the-Lake. During the War of 1812 the house was used as both a hospital and Officers' Quarters, therefore it survived the Burning on Newark in December 1813. It is now open to the public for guided tours, as well as a tea patio and mini cafe.

Vlog#28 I will never get tired chillin' on this lovely town of Niagara-on-the-lake. Niagara-on-the-lake sits on the shores of Lake Ontario, at the mouth of the Niagara River. It is also known for its wineries and town filled with flowers.
