Narnia Trail - CS Lewis - Rostrevor Northern Ireland
Following Narnia Trail while being on a trip after watching the movie - Narnia Trail is found in Kilbroney Park, Rostrevor ( where the kids kept following up with what they have seen in order to reach all the things and spots which might be related to the movie in this park - and they succeeded at getting to their destinations.
The Chronicles of Narnia from which the movie was made and also this trail came to live was a book series written by the British novelist Clive Staples Lewis who was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. CS Lewis has been famously known for several books he has written from which The Chronicles of Narnia is considered one of the top when it comes to fiction and which has been popularized on stage, TV, radio, and cinema and was also the one mostly sold.
This trail - Narnia Trail - which is found in Kilbroney Park ( brings to life the story of Narnia as well as others in this area of the Mournes. The Narnia legends are interpreted along a short family loop trail which starts with the entrance through a wardrobe - just as if one is getting into a magical world - and then leads the visitor to different other stations and themes that include the Beaver's House, the Citadels, the Tree People, the Chairs, the lantern, as well as other things which we managed to lay our hands on before leaving this magical place and getting back out to the real world.
In order to make it much interesting for the kids and related to stories they have seen or other places they have visited before, we decided first to take them the day before to CS Lewis Square in Newtownards Road, Belfast, where they also got the chance to see different sculptures related to the same story and walk among them while following a map given in hand so that they would not miss anything of the trip out ( It was considered a good trip for them although we believe that the Narnia Trail was much more exciting for them with all the walking, running, and searching.
After getting outside this magical place and passing by those different spots inside, we then headed for the next destination - which the kids thought I was mad at first for suggesting and thinking about it, but I was not =) - and which was climbing the mountain to reach up where the Cloughmore Stone is found.
The Cloughmore Stone, which is another important legend - that of the Giant Fionn McCumhaill - linked to the Narnia trail, is a huge granite boulder that is found 1,000 feet above the village of Rostrevor in County Down, Northern Ireland, on a relatively flat area and which we decided to come up for and check in real life instead of always seeing it in pictures - I have to admit, it was tiring but really exciting to come up there to finish the whole trip and plan you have placed down before leaving home.
Due to the tiring day of walking first in the park while trying to find the trail and keeping up with its magical world inside and then going up there to the top to see the Cloughmore Stone - which was the hardest - we had to make a quick stop for dinner at Newcastle before hitting the road and going back home once again (
It is actually one of the good things that one could do in Northern Ireland when it comes to thinking about adventures and parks. Visiting the Narnia Trail and keeping up with the magical world of it inside the park is one thing done in appreciation for the great work of the novelist CS Lewis, but again, that comes in addition to CS Lewis Square that carries different giant sculptures and make people feel that they are real from the way they are created and displayed (
The inspiration of this amazing writer who left behind a wide range of stories and who has the most famous ones which we are running behind everywhere, is always found in these places, making the Irish people reveal the amount of love and appreciation carried for this man and his work (
This was a long day and we had no time to go and visit other places, but for those who might be staying in Newcastle ( there are actually other beautiful places which they could pass by, such as the Tollymore Forest Park ( or for those who are fans of Game of Thrones movie - which most of its scenes where taken in Ireland - they could go and check door number three at the Percy French Restaurant in Newcastle, county Down (
Tell us what did you enjoy the most about our journey and share with us your adventures there if you have already visited before.

LONDON WALK | Chinese New Year Celebrations 2018 in Chinatown, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square
A first-person perspective London walk tour through crowds of people celebrating the Chinese New Year 2018 London Festival in Chinatown, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square.
See all the sights as Watched Walker (yes, I’m talking about myself in the third person) takes us on a walking tour through the streets of London, featuring Chinatown, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square. The route begins off Shaftesbury Avenue on Gerrard Place, then slowly travels along Gerrard Street, then down Wardour Street toward Leicester Square, next down St Martin's Street, cutting through to Trafalgar Square, where the tour concludes.
Sights seen along the tour include Chinatown's Paifangs (Chinese Archways) and restaurants, Chinese brush painting and calligraphy at Leicester Square, various stalls selling crafts and food at Trafalgar Square, as well as part of the thanksgiving ceremony, and crowds of people and kids playing with fun snaps throw bangers!
And in each video I've hidden a blinking eye, can you spot it? (It could appear more than once). In addition to the blinking eye, I've also added the Watched Walker logo to various scenes–it could be on buildings, vehicles or any other objects, so keep an eye out for it too!
Footage recorded February 2018.

London Day Trip on Queens 90th Birthday Celebration 11th June 2016
We had a day out in London today 11th June 2016, a friend of ours very kindly took myself and my wife up to London on the Queens 90th Birthday Celebrations.
Went to see part of Olympic Park Stadium in Stratford, where West Ham Football Club will be playing their games from next season as the club will be making it their permanent ground now.
Next we went to go onto travel on the Emirates Cable Car which crosses the Thames to the 02 Arena then a boat trip on the Thames Clipper to along the Thames to Embankment where we got off and along the way we saw views of Cutty Sark, part of Greenwich and entrance to the tunnel which runs under the Thames to Greenwich with buildings in view as we pass Greenwich Pier and the Gloriana Golden Barge which was used in the Queen's Golden Jubilee Pageant. Saw on the right handside views of the Walkie Talkie office building, St Pauls Cathedral on the right saw views of Tower Bridge, Traitors Gate and HMS Belfast.
When we got off the Thames Clipper at Embankment we saw horses pulling old carriages one being a Mail Coach and the other being a Horse Drawn Bus which was quite nice and different to see, plus there was a couple of old routemaster buses one bus I recognised as USK 625. Then saw a couple of bagpipers playing further down the road came across a pink routemaster bus quite a novelty. All in all a very good day despite some heavy rain.

Westminster clock tower gets new clock hands
Repairs are part of an ongoing effort to preserve the city timepiece.
August 4, 2010 by Kevin Dayhoff explorecarroll.com
Keeping the old timepiece working has been challenging for the city workers in the last number of years.
The project was part of an ongoing restoration of the clock, which at 114 years of age has indeed suffered the ravages of time. To make matters worse, several years ago a few youngsters broke into the clock tower and vandalized the historic icon of the community.
Although Booth is donating his time, other expenses incurred in the clock repair are being covered by private donations collected by a fund spearheaded by Westminster councilwoman Suzanne Albert.

In the early morning hours of last Tuesday, the old clock, which sits atop the old fire hall which served our community from 1896 to 1998 at 66 E. Main Street in Westminster, got a brand new shiny pair of hands.
The venerable old timepiece has been a fixture in the center of town since the clock was dedicated at 3:30 in the afternoon on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1896.
[...]
On November 17, 2008, a group of clock historians from Chapter 11 of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors visited the old clock and did an assessment of the clock's condition.
Westminster city workers teamed-up with a huge crane from Thomas Bennett and Hunter and Dave Booth of Precision Repair, a timepiece restoration company, to take care of the delicate surgery four stories in the air.
[...]
Clock doctor Booth was assisted in the operation high above Main Street by Wayne Reifsnider, the assistant city street department superintendent. Street department superintendent Larry Bloom, Jeff Glass, the city public works director, and city workers Shawn Lockard and Alan Miller served as ground support.
[...]
On the sidewalk below the clock, the assistant city street department superintendent Wayne Reifsnider, and David Booth of Precision Repair, a timepiece restoration company, were busy sorting through brand new clock hands and safety belts.
[...]
Moments later, a Thomas Bennett and Hunter crane arrived and city workers Shawn Lockard and Alan Miller joined Reifsnider as they set-up the crane and attached a steel cage on the end of a cable.

LYRICS:
One day You’ll make everything new, Jesus
One day You will bind every wound
The former things shall all pass away
No more tears
One day You’ll make sense of it all, Jesus
One day every question resolved
Every anxious thought left behind
No more fear
When we all get to heaven
What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus
We'll sing and shout the victory
One day we will see face to face, Jesus
Is there a greater vision of grace
And in a moment, we shall be changed
On that day
And one day we’ll be free, free indeed, Jesus
One day all this struggle will cease
And we will see Your glory revealed
On that day
