Meares Island became historically significant shortly after 1984, when the Nuu-chah-nulth began protesting forestry giant MacMillan Bloedel's potential harvesting activities.
Our kayaking guide was Sam Bovenlander - a very pleasant and knowledgable young man from down under. Thank you Sam for a great afternoon kayaking around Meares Island.
