The Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre, Taunton
For nearly 35 years the Brewhouse has been developing as a leading South West venue and, more than that, a hub for the arts in Somerset's county town. However, with the disappearance of local authority funding, it has also missed out on continuing funding from the Arts Council England. We went to Taunton whilst the England, My England festival was in full swing on St. George's day and spoke to CEO Robert Miles about the Brewhouse and the work that it does and also invited him to comment on the current funding situation and the implications for the future for Somerset's foremost arts venue. The band is the Bottle Top Boogie Band and Sweet Coppin are the clog dancers to whom thanks for permission to record their performances. This video was made for Transition Vision's Arts and Leisure Channel by John and Sue Holman.

FLOOD HAVOC
This is Exeter, just one of many towns in the West Country suffering from flood havoc. Devon and Somerset have been having the worst and wettest Autumn anyone can remember. Three times in a month, the same dreary routine has had to be withstood, then the process of mopping up. Now, it's all been happening again. Day after day of downpour, sometimes two inches in 24 hours, and, already, estimates of the damage done are soaring into the million pound mark! As well as Exeter, Sidmouth, Exmouth, Bridport and Taunton have been hard hit.
