McCrossan (SDLP) - Sinn Fein have buckled on Welfare Reform
Sinn Fein have buckled, broken their promises and bended the knee to the British Gov at our expense.
Struggling families, single parents, the elderly, disabled, long term unemployed and our most vulnerable have been badly let down this week by the cowardly action of Sinn Fein & the DUP who handed power over welfare reform to the British Government.
Here's what I had to say.... (please watch)

BELFAST VERY OWN STAVROS FLATLEY.........
Book launch: Revolution: A photographic history of Revolutionary Ireland 1913-1923
Footage from the launch of 'Revolution: A photographic history of Revolutionary Ireland 1913-1923' by Pádraig Óg Ó Ruairc on Friday 14 October. The book was launched by Dr Ruan O'Donnell in O'Mahony's Bookshop, Limerick.
About the book:
The period from 1913 to 1923 in Ireland's history of rebellion, is undoubtedly the most significant. The period takes in the revival of interest in all things Irish around 1913, the heroic Easter Rising of 1916, the bloody War of Independence 1919--1921 and the bitter Civil War of 1922--1923. Here for the first time, are images of those episodes, the people, the places, city and country, with insightful commentary describing the context of each photograph.
This book gives the reader glimpses of what happened and what life was like during the Irish revolution through photographs of the time. Photographs played an increasingly important role as the Irish struggle for independence took hold, first as memorabilia after the Easter Rising, later as propaganda and were also of vital importance in 'the intelligence war' fought between the IRA and the British. Includes previously unpublished photos sourced from private collections, the Irish Military Archives, Kilmainham Gaol and a variety of British military museums.

Terry Flanagan, coach Steve Maylett, the British title dream and Pigeons
‘Turbo’ Terry Flanagan the unbeaten former English and Prizefighter champion, will get the opportunity this Saturday night to finally accomplish a dream him and his coach Steve Maylett set out to achieve on new years day 2008.
The Manchester lightweight 24-0, will step in the ring at the Manchester Phones 4U Arena against former champion Martin Gethin for the vacant British title in the best shape of his pro career, that started in January 2009.
It has been a patient waiting game for Flanagan and his team to get this title shot, after being overlooked and avoided on many occasions, such is his slick southpaw skills and not many of the division champions and contenders have been willing to risk it against this determined Mancunian.
But that waiting game is over and Flanagan knows he must now deliver the goods and take advantage leaving nothing in the ring on the night.
The Manchester Arena is a 5 minute walk from his Ancoats front door and when he graces the ring in front of his army of fans, it will be a far cry from the days when he had to sneak in the arena in 2005 and ended up getting all the way to ringside to watch his hero Ricky Hatton take the IBF light-welterweight title from Kostya Tszyu.
On Saturday night Flanagan might not be challenging for the world title but this is a step in that direction and if he can come through this test against the impressive Gethin, then a world title fight of his own could be down the line one day and this time he wouldn’t have to sneak in!
British Boxers have followed terry’s career from day one and have seen him progress under Maylett at a rapid pace. He has been simmering over in the gym, learning, growing, maturing and now the years of waiting have finally paid off and he couldn’t have asked for better timing, the British title at his home arena.
Flanagan and his coach know that Gethin will not be an easy nights work for them but have a confidence and belief that this is their time to finally show the boxing world what they have known for a while, Terry Flanagan is a champion in the making.
We have spent sometime around the training camp in the build up to the fight and watched Flanagan whip himself into tip top shape, here is a video we put together of Flanagan and Maylett’s thought’s on the fight and a confident prediction from Flanagan on how he expects to defeat Gethin on the night. Plus a few pigeons!

Anthony Crolla vs Derry Mathews Inside Camp Preview
britishboxers.co.uk - Inside Boxing Series. We take a look into the training camps of Anthony 'Million Dollar' Crolla and 'Dirty' Derry Mathews as they prepare to face each other on April 21 in a Manchester v Liverpool, Northwest Derby fight for Crolla's British lightweight title.
It will be Crolla's second defence of the belt he won by beating Mathews fellow Liverpudlian John Watson last year. The Manchester champion will have the luxury in this one to be fighting on home turf at at the Oldham Leisure Centre, after fighting on the road in his last few fights.
Crolla is in great condition and his training camp has gone better than ever. He has been beating all his previous best times in coach Joe Gallagher's competitive monitored gym, road and track sessions and he is determined to hang onto the belt he deeply treasures.
This is the nights you live for in boxing, being in these kind of fights. We'll both go about the job, get in the best shape we possibly can, both bring our 'A' game on the night. We're both fighting for that Lonsdale belt of mine and we both want to take it home. But I'll make sure it's coming home with me. - Anthony Crolla.
For Mathews you could say he is at the last chance saloon, coming off a loss in January against Emiliano Marsili for the IBO belt, The Liverpool battler knows that this is a gifted opportunity that he must grab if he is to prolong his career at championship level.
An added incentive for Mathews is that he has never fought for a Lonsdale belt, the traditional holy grail for British fighters. He has given the occasion his utmost respect and locked himself away in preparation. He has changed trainer and gone back working with longtime coach Danny Vaughan after a successful stint working with Oliver Harrison in Manchester.
Vaughan lay the ground rules down from the beginning and told Mathews that 'if he was going to work with him and train him, it would be on his terms and with no outside distractions. So much so the Scottish based coach from Liverpool, took Mathews up to his home, put him in an apartment and began on a training regime that has seen Mathews moulded into the best condition for many years. A training camp in Lanzarote in between Scotland and Liverpool, tells you camp Mathews is taking this fight as serious has an heart attack.
I know for a fact that if the right Derry Mathews turns up there is no way Anthony Crolla is gonna live with me. A lot of people might say I don't know what I'm talking about, saying I'm finished, I'm at the end of my career. But wait until fight night and that bell goes and he's on his own, I'm gonna take him places he's never been before. - Derry Mathews.
We have had the privilege to spend time in both camps and speak to Crolla and Mathews, plus their respected coaches Joe Gallagher and Danny Vaughan and talk to all parties about the upcoming mouthwatering fight. - This is the video footage we recorded and edited into a trailer and a preview to the fight is a look at the men behind the fighters. The is a preview of the videos we will be uploading in the week of the fight - 'Inside Camp Crolla' and 'Inside Camp Mathews' - Part of the continued work to our 'Inside Boxing' series.
