Roath Park Cardiff, Wales, is one of Cardiff's most popular parks, owned by Cardiff County Council and managed by the Parks Section. Roath Park retains a classic Victorian atmosphere and has many facilities.
Roath Park has recently been awarded the prestigious Green Flag award to recognise its high quality and its importance to Cardiff. Roath Park has widely diverse environments across the Roath Park.
The Roath Park was built on 130 acres (0.53 km2) of reformed bogland, known then as a malarial bog, and includes a 30-acre (120,000 m2) lake 1.3 miles (2.1 km) around, formed by the damming of the Nant Fawr stream. Roath Park is a popular facility for fishing and rowing. There are four islands within a conservation area, home to many water birds. The main park includes a large playground, floral displays, the glasshouse conservatory and recreational areas.
Roath park occupies a long strip of land stretching from Cyncoed in the north to Roath towards the southeast. The Roath Park is divided into several parts along the Roath Brook, Nant Fawr. From north to south; The Wild Gardens, Roath Park Lake, Botanical Gardens, Rose Gardens, Pleasure Gardens, Roath Park Recreation Ground, Roath Brook Gardens, Roath Mill Gardens and Waterloo Gardens.

Driver runs red light at Death Junction
The junction of Crwys Road, City Road, Albany Road, Mackintosh Place and Richmond Road, known locally in Cardiff as Death Junction, is a renowned blackspot for red light-running motorists.
In this video, a driver moving left to right from Albany Rd to Richmond Rd (you need to look carefully) blasts through a red around 5 seconds after it changed. A five-way pedestrian phase follows this red, so it was lucky no-one had anticipated their green and started to cross.
Seriously stupid.
Cardiff Pedal Power - Viv gives a Royal Wave
Viv proved herself a total inspiration on Friday when she arrived in a taxi and asked to become a member of Pedal Power. She had attended a talk given by our very own director, Sybil Williams, and had been moved to take up the challenge of getting back on a bike!
Viv is suffering from Parkinson's disease and told how she had decided cycling may be an answer to her mobility issues. These photos and video show her first adventure at Pedal Power, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Viv has decided to come back weekly to build up her stamina and strength and is also going to invite some of her friends to join her.
