Froglife at Peterborough Dragon Boat Race 2016
See how Froglife's Team Dragon Finder did at the Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival 2016!
There was a celebratory atmosphere along the banks of the Peterborough Rowing Lake, with supporters cheering on their teams and enjoying BBQ's in the sun. The Froglife Dragon Finders put in a great performance - thank you to everyone who was part of the day!
29 teams entered the event, with each racing in 3 heats. Their best two times were added together and the top 9 teams raced again in the Semi-finals. The winner of each of the 3 Semi-finals then raced each other in the Final, with other rankings decided by Semi-final times.
Froglife attended this event as part of the River Nene Dragon Finder Project, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The rowing lake is right next to habitat work the team has recently been working on at Nene Park and Boardwalks Local Nature Reserve. It was a great way to thank volunteers for all their help!
