In October 2010, Sideshow will take place for the second time round supporting the prestigious British Art Show 7, In The Days Of The Comet curated by Lisa le Feuvre & Tom Morton, for its nationwide launch at Nottingham Contemporary, The New Art Exchange and the Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery.
Sideshow complements Nottingham's growing artist-led scene and do-it-yourself attitude towards contemporary art. Sideshow is a unique city-wide event in Nottingham presenting a range of contemporary art exhibitions, ambitious new commissions, site specific public projects, artists talks, performances, screenings and music events in the artist-led spaces, studios and empty buildings of the city.
15 new artists commissions involving 100 artists from the UK collaborating with 50 organisations have been selected by Rob Bowman, Artangel, London; Lotte Juul Petersen, Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge; Phil Duckworth & Ben Sadler, Juneau Projects, Birmingham and Kitty Anderson, The Common Guild, Glasgow.
Sideshow 2010 is co-ordinated and supported by Nottingham Visual Arts and funded by Arts Council England, Igniting Ambitions on behalf of the Legacy Trust UK and Nottingham City Council.

Nottingham town centre city centre nottingham
Nottingham Council House is the city hall of Nottingham, England. The iconic 200 feet (61 m) high dome that rises above the city is the centrepiece of the skyline and presides over the Old Market Square.
The Council House was designed by Thomas Cecil Howitt and built between 1927 and 1929[1] in the Neo-Baroque style characterised by the huge pillars that circle the building along with the carvings on the facade. It replaced the former Nottingham Exchange.
It is claimed that the chimes of the bell in the dome, Little John (for many years the deepest toned clock bell in the United Kingdom, weighing over 10 tons[2]), can be heard for a distance of seven miles.

The foundation stone (behind the left-hand lion as you approach the building) was laid by Alderman Herbert Bowles (Chairman of the Estates Committee), on 17 March 1927. The building was officially opened by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII and the Duke of Windsor) on 22 May 1929. The total cost of the building at the time was £502,876 (£25.9 million as of 2014). By the time the bill was finally cleared in 1981, the total including interest was £620,294.
The building has staged many high profile occasions; royalty, statesmen and women and stars of the stage and screen have been entertained there and both the F.A. and European Cups have been held aloft from its balcony.
Since Nottingham City Council relocated councillors' offices to Loxley House in 2010, the Council House is seldom used for day-to-day administrative functions. From April 2011, the building also now serves as the chief Register Office for Births, Marriages and Deaths in the City.

NAE OPEN
AWARDS CEREMONY
Friday 23 August 2019, 6pm – 9pm
Enjoy a huge variety of art at NAE this summer, with works in painting, drawing, video, live art, sculpture, installation and mixed media by over 50 artists.
The NAE Open was created through an open application process which received nearly 700 submissions. A panel of judges viewed each to select what they felt to be the most innovative and accomplished works, creating a snapshot of contemporary fine art practice today.
Given NAE's key priorities in supporting both culturally diverse and local talent, the exhibition was open to all artists living in Nottinghamshire and also to artists of culturally diverse heritage and those exploring diversity within their
practice living anywhere in the UK.
A key aim of the NAE Open is to create a platform which supports the development of artists and raises their profile. Beyond the public exhibition itself, a number of prizes will be awarded in a special ceremony on Friday 23 August. These include the £1,500 Public Choice Prize, which every visitor to the exhibition can contribute to. Be sure to cast your vote when you visit the galleries – voting closes Thursday 22 August 2019. The NAE Open also creates the opportunity to buy original art with a number of works available for sale.

UK Exchange - What's Going On.
A university student on exchange in the UK. Viewer discretion is advised: filled with 'had to be there' moments, sentimental snippets and chaotic montages, symbolic of the string of emotions associated with the journey of an exchange program itself. What's going on, you might be thinking watching this video, that's exactly what international students think too on this life-changing adventure.
