LMS Princess Royal
The London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) Princess Royal Class was a class of an express passenger steam locomotive designed by William Stanier. When originally built, they were used to haul the famous Royal Scot train between London Euston and Glasgow Central. Each locomotive was named after a princess, the official name for the class was chosen because Mary, Princess Royal was the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Scots. However, the locos were known to railwaymen as Lizzies, after the second example of the class named for Princess Elizabeth who later became Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. Later examples of 4-6-2 express passenger locomotive built by the LMS were of the related but larger, Coronation Class. The class were withdrawn in the early 1960s in line with British Railways' modernisation plan. Two examples, 6201 Princess Elizabeth and 6203 Princess Margaret Rose are preserved. They were named after the two children of Prince Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI), and his wife, Elizabeth, Duchess of York (later Queen Elizabeth, and after the king's death, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother). Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary (later Queen Elizabeth II) was seven years old in 1933 when her namesake was built, and Princess Margaret Rose was nearly five in July 1935 when her namesake was completed. At the time, they were third and fourth in line to the throne.

The 'Queen of Benefits' has been spared jail despite paying for a luxury holiday to Spain for nine of her children with stolen cash. Mother-of-12 Cheryl Prudham, 35, was given a suspended sentence for spending more than £2,200 of stolen cash on the all-inclusive vacation for herself, her partner and nine of her children. Prudham, who gets £40,000 a year from the state, admitted using £2,241 for her Spanish trip from the £4,788 her now her ex-partner Robert Prudham stole while working for Meteor Parking Ltd, having secured the job by fraud. She was sentenced to four months imprisonment, suspended for two years, with a 35-day rehabilitation activity requirement. She appeared today at Maidstone Crown Court by video link from Warrington Crown Court in Cheshire, where she now lives. Judge Adele Williams said: 'This offence was in my judgement motivated by greed on your part. 'You used the money to pay for sums due on a holiday.' The court heard Prudham, 35, paid an installment for the 14-day holiday to Menorca with some of stolen money the day after her ex-partner resigned from his job. The holiday, for which she paid £7,671, was to Victoria Playa in Santo Tomas, flying from Gatwick Airport on May 16 2014. They returned on May 30.Robert Prudham, from Maidstone, was yesterday jailed for 14 months after admitting stealing from Meteor Parking Ltd between January 4 and February 12 2014, as well as for fraud. The 33-year-old obtained the job as a money collector by making a false declaration to Red Eagle Recruitment Specialist that he was of good character and had no criminal convictions, when he had 18 previous court appearances for 29 offences. He stole coins and notes from station car parks across Kent, including from Darent Valley Hospital. Since committing the offences, Robert Prudham had been convicted of harassing his ex-partner, as well as shoplifting. Emma Shafton, for the prosecution, said the 'Benefits Queen' at first claimed she had saved the money and was reluctant to allow police access to her bank accounts. She had eight previous convictions for ten offences, including shoplifting, intimidating a witness and possessing a bladed article in a public place. Her last conviction in 2004 was for possessing cannabis.Prudham had blamed Robert, the father of six of her children, for her crimes. Philip Sinclair, defending, said: 'It was an abusive relationship virtually from the start. 'She was unable to leave it.'She made a number of complaints to the police, but various assaults were never pursued. When he brought home a lot of money, largely in coinage, she knew it was stolen.'She panicked. She paid for the holiday herself. He contributed nothing towards it.'It cost nearly £8,000. She had paid £6,000 at the time of the offence.'She was able to take up employment working 12 hours a day as a carer. Peter Phillips | Princess Anne's Son | Transformation From 0 To 40 Years Old
Peter Mark Andrew Phillips (born 15 November 1977) is the elder child and only son of Anne, Princess Royal, and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips. He is the eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. After graduating from university in 2000, he worked for Jaguar followed by WilliamsF1. In 2003, while working for WilliamsF1 in Canada, he met Autumn Kelly, whom he married in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in 2008. For many years Phillips has worked in the sports sponsorship and management fields. He is currently 14th in line of succession to the British throne.
-------------
Early life and education
Peter Phillips was born at 10:46 am on 15 November 1977, at Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London. He was the first child of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips, who had married in 1973. At the time of his birth, there was a 41-gun salute from the Tower of London. He was baptised Peter Mark Andrew Phillips on 22 December 1977, by the then Archbishop of Canterbury Donald Coggan in the Music Room of Buckingham Palace.
Phillips was fifth in line to the throne at birth and remained so until the birth of his cousin, Prince William, in 1982. His parents were said to have refused offers from his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, that would have led to his being born in the peerage. Phillips was therefore the first legitimate grandchild of a monarch to be born without a title or courtesy title for more than 500 years. Phillips has a younger sister, Zara Tindall (née Phillips; born 1981) and two younger half-sisters, Felicity Tonkin (born 1985), the daughter of Mark Phillips and his former mistress Heather Tonkin, and Stephanie Phillips (born 1997), the daughter of his father's second marriage to Sandy Pflueger.
Phillips went to Port Regis Prep School in Shaftesbury, Dorset before following other members of the Royal Family by attending Gordonstoun School in Moray, Scotland. Whilst at Gordonstoun, he was chosen to be head boy and also played in the XV. During his gap year, he went to Sydney, Australia and worked for Sports Entertainment Limited , a company he would later return to; he also worked for Jackie Stewart's Formula One racing team during that time.
He then went to the University of Exeter and graduated with a degree in sports science. At university, he played for the Exeter University Rugby League team.
--------------------
Post-university
After his graduation in 2000, Phillips worked for Jaguar as corporate hospitality manager and then for WilliamsF1 racing team, where he was sponsorship accounts manager. In 2004, while working for WilliamsF1, Phillips was in a van in China with three other employees when the van was hit by a car. Phillips was uninjured. He left WilliamsF1 in September 2005, for a job as a manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh. In March 2012, he left RBS to take on a role as managing director at SEL UK.
Unlike his sister's personal life, Phillips' personal life receives only limited publicity. He dated Elizabeth Lorio, a cod liver oil heiress from the United States, for two years; in 2001 they lived together for eight months. Later, he had a four-month relationship with Tara Swain, a flight attendant.
In August 2012, it was announced that he would be the Guest of Honour at the 2012 Rugby League Challenge Cup Final between Warrington Wolves and Leeds Rhinos at Wembley on 24 August 2012.
In the year leading up to June 2016 Phillips was responsible for organising the Patron's Lunch, in celebration of the Queen's 90th birthday and involving a parade down The Mall and a hamper picnic for 10,000 guests.
Personal life
In 2003, Phillips met Autumn Kelly, a Canadian management consultant, at the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.Their engagement was announced on 28 July 2007.
Before her marriage, Autumn Kelly converted from Roman Catholicism to join the Church of England. If she had been Roman Catholic at the time of the marriage, Phillips would have lost his place in the line of the succession to the throne because of the terms of the Act of Settlement 1701. Shortly before their wedding, the couple caused some reported unease in royal circles when they were interviewed and photographed by Hello! magazine, and were reported to have been paid £500,000. They married on 17 May 2008 at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. The service was conducted by David Conner, the Dean of Windsor. The couple lived in Hong Kong after Phillips moved positions within the Royal Bank of Scotland to head their sponsorships activities in the region.
Their first child, and the Queen's first great-grandchild, a daughter named Savannah Anne Kathleen, was born on 29 December 2010 at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. On Saturday, 23 April, the Queen was present for the baby's baptism, which took place at Holy Cross Church in Avening, Gloucestershire, near Gatcombe Park, the home of his mother. Savannah is 15th in line to the throne.
Lewis Carroll - Alice In Wonderland, chapter 8; The Queen's Croquet Ground
Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (January 27, 1832 – January 14, 1898), better known by the pseudonym Lewis Carroll was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon and photographer. His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass, as well as the poems The Hunting of the Snark and Jabberwocky, all examples of the genre of literary nonsense. He is noted for his facility at word play, logic, and fantasy, and there are societies in many parts of the world (including the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States, and New Zealand) dedicated to the enjoyment and promotion of his works and the investigation of his life.
Dodgson's family was predominantly northern English, with Irish connections. Conservative and High Church Anglican, most of Dodgson's ancestors were army officers or Church of England clergy. His great-grandfather, also named Charles Dodgson, had risen through the ranks of the church to become the Bishop of Elphin. His grandfather, another Charles, had been an army captain, killed in action in Ireland in 1803 when his two sons were hardly more than babies. His mother's name was Frances Jane Lutwidge. The elder of these sons yet another Charles Dodgson was Carroll's father. He reverted to the other family tradition and took holy orders. He went to Westminster School, and then to Christ Church, Oxford. He was mathematically gifted and won a double first degree, which could have been the prelude to a brilliant academic career. Instead he married his first cousin in 1827 and became a country parson.
Dodgson was born in the little parsonage of Daresbury in Cheshire near the towns of Warrington and Runcorn, the eldest boy but already the third child of the four-and-a-half-year-old marriage. Eight more children were to follow. When Charles was 11, his father was given the living of Croft-on-Tees in North Yorkshire, and the whole family moved to the spacious rectory. This remained their home for the next twenty-five years.Young Charles' father was an active and highly conservative cleric of the Church of England who later became the Archdeacon of Richmond and involved himself, sometimes influentially, in the intense religious disputes that were dividing the church. He was High Church, inclining to Anglo-Catholicism, an admirer of John Henry Newman and the Tractarian movement, and did his best to instill such views in his children. Young Charles was to develop an ambiguous relationship with his father's values and with the Church of England as a whole
