Places to see in ( Newcastle upon Tyne - UK ) The Quayside
The Quayside is an area along the banks (quay) of the River Tyne in Newcastle upon Tyne (the north bank) and Gateshead (south bank) in the North East of England, United Kingdom.
The area was once an industrial area and busy commercial dockside serving the area, while the Newcastle side also hosted a regular street market. In recent years the docks became run-down, and the area has since been heavily redeveloped to provide a modern environment for the modern arts, music and culture, as well as new housing developments (e.g. at St Peter's Marina). The NewcastleGateshead initiative now lists the Quayside as a top ten attraction.
Along the Newcastle side is an area that houses restaurants, bars and night clubs as well as housing and the Newcastle Law Courts. Quayside is also the name of the street running along the Newcastle riverside.
The Gateshead side of the river is designated and signposted as Gateshead Quays. It is the site of the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and The Sage Gateshead performing arts and conference centre. Also moored on the Gateshead side from 1984 until 2008 was the Tuxedo Princess (replaced for a time by sister ship Tuxedo Royale), a floating nightclub, beneath the Tyne Bridge near The Sage.
One of the Quayside's main features is the pedestrian Gateshead Millennium Bridge, opened in 2001, which spans the river between the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and the Newcastle Law Courts. The other bridge which allows direct road and pedestrian links between the two banks is the low level Swing Bridge, built in 1876, and located nearer the two respective city centres. Using the two bridges, the Quayside is the venue for the junior course of the annual Great North Run.

Newcastle upon Tyne. A walk by the Old Castle and over the High Level Bridge. Tyne. 07.07.2016.
While visiting Newcastle recently, I thought I'd video around the Old Castle (Castle Keep), and the High Level Bridge area. I remember spending quite some time around here back in the late 1960's and early '70's. I can look at this now as it brings back memories. Hopefully it will for others too, that no longer live in the area.

My Final Client Presentation Day | Business Clinic | Newcastle UK || Tinny's Vlog
Date: 21st September 2017
It was the final client presentation day for our master’s consultancy project arranged by the Business Clinic at Northumbria University, which meant my master’s degree was finally ended on this day! I was so glad that our presentation was going smooth and we handled the critical questions well during the Q&A session. (Our team earned a DISTINCTION for this project & our client was really impressed with our consultancy report and giving a positive feedback on her experience to work with us! That really means a lot to us! ❤)
After the presentation, I celebrated our completion of consultancy project with my team (Daphne, Badr & Jini) at the Byron. Then I went to the Habita to meet with Juan, Mark, Stu and SenVoon for drinks. Afterwards, I went to the Five Swans with Mark to meet his friends (and later became my new friends, who were Liyana, Tatiana & Manos).
Coincidently, Magda dropped by the restaurant and we had some drinks at the Alchemist to have a great catch up and mini celebration! =P We also talked a lot of thing about what’ve happened since the beginning of our master’s study till now! XD Afterwards, we just had a walk on street and went home.

Newcastle upon Tyne
Newcastle upon Tyne is a university city on the River Tyne in northeast England. With its twin city, Gateshead, it was a major shipbuilding and manufacturing hub during the Industrial Revolution and is now a centre of business, arts and sciences. Spanning the Tyne, modern Gateshead Millennium Bridge, noted for its unique tilting aperture, is a symbol of the 2 cities.
Gateshead
Gateshead is a town in Tyne and Wear, England, on the southern bank of the River Tyne opposite Newcastle upon Tyne. Gateshead and Newcastle are joined by seven bridges across the Tyne, including the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. The town is known for its architecture, including the Sage Gateshead, the Angel of the North and the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art. Residents of Gateshead, like the rest of Tyneside, are referred to as Geordies. Gateshead's population in 2011 was 120,046.
