In this video we travel the 28 miles and 1 chain across parts of Wiltshire, Somerset and Bristol. As it begins, we turn off the Reading – Taunton Line to join the Wessex Main Line through Trowbridge and Bradford-on-Avon, following the valley of the river Avon; we cross it several times, and are crossed by the Kennet & Avon Canal three times on imposing aqueducts. At Bathampton Junction we join the Great Western main line for the run through Bath (where we chanced upon steam loco ‘Tornado’) to Bristol; there, instead of entering Temple Meads station we turn right at Feeder Bridge Junction to join the Filton Lines.

This outing began at Hastings and ran via Tonbridge, Redhill and Guildford to Reading, then via Hungerford (part 1) to the Westbury area (part 2) where we turned right at Heywood Road Junction, through Bradford-on-Avon and Bath to Filton (this video), through the Severn Tunnel into Wales, to Maindee Junction (Newport) (part 4, to follow) for the line through Abergavenny to Hereford (part 5, to follow); the return journey was via the same route. We intend to produce video footage of the entirety of the rest of this journey to Hereford.

Our return journey’s route was changed just a day or two before the trip because of a bridge strike — from Hereford to Filton Abbey Wood we were supposed to have been routed via Worcester and the Gloucester area to Yate and Bristol Parkway, but as things turned out we had to retrace our steps via the Severn Tunnel. The following shows our original route.

4K | New Mega Yacht AVIVA transport and launch - Abeking and Rasmussen shipyard
AVIVA is the biggest Yacht ever built by Abeking and Rasmussen shipyard. In the early morning of 8th January the Yacht AVIVA (99m) was transported on a special pontoon (boabarge 36) to Bremen Neustädter Harbor. There is a special place to float the pontoon and bring AVIVA into their item.
5 tugs were involved: Berne, Brake, Blumenthal, Weser and Greiff.
The launch was happened in the early morning of 9th January.
The yacht was commissioned by experienced yacht owner, Mr. Joe Lewis, who currently owns the 2007-built Abeking & Rasmussen yacht by the same name.
The Reymond Langton-designed yacht is the largest completed project to date for both the British design studio and Abeking & Rasmussen. (informations from Superyachttimes)

Dennis R. Washington is a Montana-based industrialist and philanthropist who owns, or co-owns controlling interest in, a large consortium of privately held companies collectively known as the Washington Companies and, in Canada, another collection of companies known as the Seaspan Marine Corporation. With an estimated current net worth of around $4.2 billion, he is ranked by Forbes as the 58th-richest person in America.
Born in Spokane, Dennis Washington grew up in Spokane, Bremerton, Washington, and Missoula, Montana. Following graduation from high school, he worked in construction in Alaska and Montana. He began his business career at age 30 in 1964, with a $30,000 loan and a single bulldozer. He created Washington Construction, which worked primarily on highway contracts and by 1969 was the largest contractor in Montana.
In the 1970s he moved into mining and dam construction. In 1986 he acquired a copper and molybdenum mine at Butte, Montana. He successfully reopened the mine and it became a very profitable operation. This success helped him diversify into railroads, marine services, coastal shipping, aviation and real estate. Dennis Washington also owns a large private estate on Stuart Island, British Columbia, including a luxury fishing lodge and golf course. The Washington-Grizzly Stadium for football at the University of Montana is named for him. He also provided the yacht Attessa featured in the film Overboard

Yacht ulysses has a length of 116 meters, a width of 18 and a gross tonnage of over 6,700 tons. On board can climb 66 people, including the crew, housed in the 24 cabins equipped of course with all comforts. Among the peculiarities, in addition to the cinema and two swimming pools, also the heliport, where the Bell 429 is held a six-or seven-passenger helicopter. One of the tenders is the Princess F68, a 21-metre yacht with a 37 tonnes tonnage.
Launched in 2016 by the Norwegian shipyard Klaven was completed in interior furnishings in Germany, in Bremerhaven. The value of the ship is estimated at about 250 million dollars thanks also to the high technological content that it has on board.
For Ulysses. The dream boat is part of the category of expedition yachts, luxurious ships and at the same time able to cope with extreme conditions, thanks to a particularly powerful engine and a hull designed to tackle even the most complex areas such as Seas of the two poles. It is not the first boat with these features of the New Zealand tycoon: The former, also initially called Ulysses and now renamed Andromeda, was however shorter with 106 meters and could accommodate 30 passengers and 22 crew members in the 15 Cabins including 1 owner, 4 Vip and 10 doubles. Built in 2015, the Kleven shipyard has the exterior designed by Marinteknik Verkstads and interiors by the H2 Yacht Design. He underwent maintenance work in 2017.
The sale of Andromeda was also at the center of a gossip, at first was circulated the rumor that the buyer was Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, for 150 million. The news was however contraded by the same company. These days it is directed to the port of Cristòbal in Panama after a cruise in the Mediterranean and beats the flag of the Cayman islands. Neither boat is currently charterisable, indicative for similar models the price per week can reach even 650,000 dollars.
Graeme Richard Hart, owner of the Ulysses, was born in 1955 in New Zealand, at first he had left school at the age of 16 working as a truck driver with trailer. In 1987 he graduated with the Master in Business administration at Otago University. He has focused his business on the acquisition of low-performing companies that are then put in the conditions to be more productive through important investments. The New Zealand tycoon focused on paper packaging: The most important operation was carried out in 2008 when it bought Alcoa's packaging & Consumer Group for 2.7 billion dollars in the United States. His assets are estimated at 10.3 billion, he is married to two children and lives in Auckland.
Ulysses is not the largest yacht in the world: in the first place there is Azzam, 180 meters long and owned by the ruler of the Emirates Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The value is 605 million dollars, the highest in 2017 worldwide

Greta Thunberg is about to sail across the Atlantic aboard Malizia II, a zero-emissions racing yacht that is retrofitted with solar panels and underwater turbines to cover its electricity needs. The 16-year-old climate activist will travel from the UK to New York to attend the U.N. Climate Action Summit (and Mashable's Social Good Summit). Although it will not be a very comfortable journey, sailing is the only way Thunberg can travel to the U.S. without adding to her carbon footprint.
