Paraty Brasil Waterfall with waterslide
Cachoeira do Tobogã (ou da Penha) (“Flume's - Or Penha's Waterfall”)
This waterfall, also known as “Cachoeira da Penha”, is located at the Paraty-Cunha Road, near to the Headquarters of the Gold Path Touristic Information Center and to “Igreja da Penha” (“Penha´s Church”).
There are some great waterfalls up in the mountains above Paraty- while most people head for Toboga to watch the local kids surfing down the waterfall on their feet, Cachoiera da Jamaica is where only the locals know and Cachoiera da Melancia is great for rappelling.
Travel Guide Recommendation:
The Path of Gold (Part 01)
Which end of a path is the right one to start telling a two-way story from? Where did it begin and where did it die? Was it Ouro Preto or Paraty? For me, a native of one of these two tips, it was an easy decision. Ouro Preto is my start point on this journey that will take us back to the universe of those who paved and traveled these hinterlands, helping to define the Brazilian territory as we know it today. And of course, bushcraft and the arts of the natural world will be present all the time along this ancient journey. So get on board on this time machine and lets look back into the wisdom, the life and death of the Bandeirantes and our ancestors.
Paraty Wilderness Trekking - Nattrip
Paraty Wilderness Trekking takes place in the beautiful small colonial town of Paraty, that lies 200km south of the coast of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
Set amid many peninsulas and secluded beaches, composed of jungle-covered steep mountains, forming an island-studded bay, Paraty is one of Brazil’s most appealing destinations. The center of the city preserves its countless architectural charms, with well preserved old buildings. The irregular cobblestone streets are closed to motor vehicles, creating an athmosphere that makes you travel back in time.
During the 18th century, the port of Paraty was an important outlet for gold and precious stones brought from Minas Gerais to be shipped to Portugal. However, constant pirate assaults, who took refuge in the beaches and islands around, led the gold route to become unused, resulting in a great economic isolation for years to come.
Among a lush remnant of Atlantic rainforest, dozens of pristine beaches are within a couple of hours from Paraty city center. The area comprises the Bocaina National Park, the Environmental Protection Area of Cairuçu, the Joatinga Natural Reserve and last but not least the Serra do Mar State Park, all places of rare beauty. Therefore, Paraty is surrounded everywhere by protected luscious Atlantic rainforest.

STORYLINE:
Crowds of carnival revellers gathered in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday for the traditional 'Banda de Ipanema' street party.
Dancers and musicians paraded through the streets for the event, which forms part of the wider carnival celebrations.
The party attracted around 50 thousand people.
The first time Banda de Ipanema took over the streets was in 1965.
There is a lot of joy - an environment of celebration. Very lovely, said Alejandra Egal who had travelled from Colombia to take part in the festivities.
The Ipanema band was declared part of the city's cultural heritage in 2004.
Meanwhile, later on Saturday, some 250 kilometres (155 miles) away from Rio de Janeiro, hundreds of people gathered in Paraty for the city's annual carnival mud party.
Revellers from all over world became indistinguishable after coating themselves in dark grey mud.
They then paraded through the streets.
I think this may be the most fun I've ever had in my whole life, said American tourist Caitlin Miller.
It's my first time in Brazil, it's my first time at carnival and seeing a bunch of adults spirited mud dancing. Perfecto.
Organisers recently posted a complaint against the city government, which cut funding and restricted the parade's usual path through the historic city centre, claiming the festival goers had damaged businesses and landmarks during previous carnivals.
Paraty is a popular tourist destination as well as a historical site, being part of Brazil's Gold Trail dating back to the 17th Century.

Paraty
trabalho de filosofia
traducao para o ingles:
How to explain the changes that constantly occur in Paraty? To answer this question, let's go back in time and get to know the thoughts of Heraclitus of Ephesus. For this philosopher, all emerged from one of the four elements, fire. It is important to know that everything that exists is a result of a constant battle, the human race is a battle. He also said that we can not bath twice in the same river, everything flows and changes. The permanence and eternity is not at rest are illusions. The change continues and it is what governs the cosmos.
Since everything constantly changes, we will now base ourselves in Heraclitus and tell, in detail, the changes in the history of Paraty. The founding date of Paraty, is still shrouded in many mysteries, but we were told the following: the first settlement appeared in the Morro da Vila Velha. In 1646, when Dona Maria de Mello Jacomeh donated her land, created a new settlement that grew and gave rise to Paraty.
In 1667, Paraty wins the position of village and then begins to develop due to its strategic location. The gold in Minas Gerais is being discovered and the only way to export and sell this product to Portugal was through Paraty. There was a path made by the Indians Guaianazes that ran from Rio de Janeiro until Diamantina and passed through the main points which lead to gold extraction. Besides the path, Paraty also possessed a harbor, which collaborated with the growth of the village.
Paraty is forgotten when the roads are built in Rio - Santos Dutra, the gold path becomes unnecessary because the trip would be much faster and more efficient by new roads, making the Paraty economy descrease quickly. The city relives its glory days, when the coffee cycle brings a little money and brandy production begins to grow. With the passage of time these cycles stop providing wealth.
Those roads that one day made Paraty into oblivion, start bringing a new cycle for city tourism. The biggest attraction, along with the natural beauty, is the historic center, where we can find the mysteries of Freemasonry, which greatly influenced the construction of houses in the city in its foundation .
Well, now that we have answered our question, we can travel back in time and pay a visit to Paraty to see what the public knows about the transformation of their city!
As perguntas:
1) What do you know about the religious sects opposed to the government?
2)What do you think attracts more tourists to Paraty?
3) Which cycle you deem most important for the economic growth of paraty?

Brazylia - W rytmach samby i lambady [fragment]
Travelfan w podróży zaprasza na kolejną video-opowieść. Tym razem podróżniczy szlak zawiódł mnie do Brazylii.
To kraj pełen kontrastów.
Jedną z nich to Wodospady Iguazu. Uznaje się je za jedne z siedmiu nowych cudów natury.
Serdecznie zapraszam do obejrzenia zaprezentowanego fragmentu filmu „Brazylia - W rytmach samby i lambady.
