The Seattle Underground: The Hidden City
Seattle, Washington, is known for being the home of two of the biggest tech companies in the United States- Microsoft, and Amazon.com. With all of its modern charm, few people would ever notice that there is an entire hidden underground city beneath the streets. This is known as the “Seattle Underground”, and it still contains shops and buildings that once served as the city’s businesses. So...Why did the city of Seattle build an entire new town on top of the old one, and how did they do it? Find out on today’s Geographics.

Rollerblading the Stanley Park Seawall in Vancouver Canada on a gorgeous afternoon (4k video tour)
My 4k video where I rollerblade around the Stanley Park seawall bike trail. It's a beautiful location to rollerblade, even though the bike path becomes very narrow at some points, and taking full strides becomes difficult to do.
There were a lot of people walking, cycling, and running on the seawall as well as a lot of tourists who were there to get photos of beautiful Stanley park and the waterfront area. In this video, I give you a first person look doing a full loop of full Stanley park seawall.
Depending where you are on the seawall, you can see North Vancouver across Burrard inlet, and the downtown Vancouver skyline. You can also see the Royal Vancouver yacht club, Naval museum for HMCS Discovery, Harry Jerome statue, Brockton point lighthouse, SS Empress of Japan figurehead, great views of the Lion's Gate Bridge overhead, Salish Rock and much more!
Cyclists and roller bladers are require to go counter clockwise on the Stanley Park protion of the seawall to prevent collisions and problems.

5:50 - HMCS discovery
7:30 - Hallelujah point and Harry Jerome statue
9:40 - Views of some of North Vancouver, North shore mountains across the bay

Client testimonial - January'12 Peter, Thank-you for the use of the apartment, it was superb value for money and the location was perfect. It was great to be in the marketplace, so near to the Supermarkets, Banks and Coffee Shops.....perfect for a quick 'pick me up' before heading up the slopes. The accommodation was to a very high standard as we had hoped and the HD TV installation after a couple of days, was most welcome! Having such a well facilitated apartment meant that we could fully enjoy the trip to Whistler, and that we certainly did. We had perfect snow (11 feet since the start of Jan I believe!) and the Held Drop would have to be the highlight of the trip. I would be happy to recommend the apartment, the hassle free online booking procedure to anyone and we hope to use this or perhaps one of your other apartments in the future. Once again, many thanks and I hope you have a good season. Kind Regards, James
Client Testimonial #2 We thank you so much for the excellent accommodation you provided us, the family voted your apartment the best by miles during our month in Canada. Whistler is the most incredible resort area with fabulous service given with smiles and genuine hospitality from the top of those majestic mountains to the bottom. We are already planning our return! Skiing is now the families favorite holiday sport. Thank you again, we will recommend you to our friends and family.

La Santé Prison: Serving Time in the Heart of Paris
Our very first Geographics video was about a Russian prison, Pyatak, made famous by its remote location and by the regime of isolation to which its inmates are sentenced. In today’s Geographics, we will explore another prison, which in a way is the radical opposite of Pyatak. This correctional facility is located in one of the most densely populated districts of a great European capital. Its residents are unlikely to complain about being left alone … if anything, overpopulation is more of a problem. So, welcome, or should I say Bienvenues to La Santé Prison in Paris, France.

This was just what we were looking for...........a well appointed condo, in a central location at a reasonable rate. We found this great deal on unit #219 (owned by Jacquie Sali). The service was really pleasant & efficient...........we'll certainly search for this one again! We found it on go whistler by owner. Loved the covered outdoor hot-tub and so easy to walk to the numerous stores & restaurants. We took the shuttle ( to the ski hill) which was virtually outside our door, and runs frequently. The liquor & grocery stores were in the same complex. Unit 219 was quiet & well maintained.

Klondike: The Last Gold Rush
Check my other channel Biographics!
It’s been called the last great adventure of the 19th Century. In 1896, prospectors in Yukon Territory fished a thumb sized nugget of gold out Rabbit Creek. The find triggered a human tsunami not seen since the days of the California Gold Rush. Across the US, tens of thousands abandoned their homes to take their chances in the northern wilderness. At a time when a city like Seattle might have a population of only forty thousand, one hundred thousand people converged on Klondike, hoping to strike it rich. Instead, what many of them found was death, disease, and destitution.

Worm Tazer! Catching tons of earthworms for bait with electricity.
Using electricity to catch tons of worms for fishing bait. The worm tazer is basically a series of probes that shock worms out of the ground. I caught a lot of earthworms really quick.
However, this video is for entertainment purposes only. 120 V electricity is really dangerous. The electric Worm Getter use to be sold in stores until it was recalled in 1993 because it caused the deaths of 30 people and shocked many others. I am not an electrician, I basically got this design off the internet. So PLEASE don't mess with this thing. Just enjoy the video and stay safe.
This video shows you how I built the earthworm Tazer, how I use it and the pros and cons of using this technique for catching worms.

Transcript of video: FOR SALE: 3 bed/2 bath at 4891-35 Painted Cliff Rd. Listed at $1,195,000.
0.01 Hello its Marion Anderson with RE/MAX Sea to Sky Real Estate in Whistler, and I am showing a video today of 35 Painted Cliff. Now Painted Cliff is on Blackcomb Mountain and just at the back of that car there is a little track and above that you probably see some motion,
that's the Wizard Express Chair going up Blackcomb Mountain. So, it is incredibly close. Ski
in ski out is so easy with Painted Cliff. Painted Cliff is also on Painted Cliff Road.
0.35 So up the few stairs we go. This 3 bedroom townhouse, has been suitable decked out with
wood on the walls to prevent any damage from skis and snowboards, because this is where
you would leave them. Coming up the stairs there is a closet for extra coats, and on my left washer and two dryers. Isn't that something, first time I have seen that. First bedroom has a queen decent sized room, little closet. Second bedroom is a bunk room which sleeps four people. There is a little closet from underneath the stairs which is excellent for storage. I love that
cork notice board I think that is a great idea. Bathroom is in original condition, I can tell that from the tiles and the wooden cupboard doors. I would guess that the shower is original too, but I can't be quite sure about that.
1.55 Here we are at the living space. Original kitchen, you can tell that from the backsplash, and the type of closet doors, but it is in such good condition. 3 bedroom townhouse, very nice condition. Out here where I have alread poked my head is just a little BBQ and 2 chairs deck. View of Rainbow Mountain. Wood burning fireplace, a flying bear, again nicely done with the cabin feel. So let me just go up the stairs to the master bedroom.
2.46 Now Painted Cliff was built, I am just referring to my notes here, in 1993, it has underground
parking, relatively low strata fees, it does have a communal outdoor hot tub, and the size
of this 3 bedroom is 1287 sq ft. Typical layout of the 3 bedroom unit. Now coming in here
they have put a bed, its like the naughty boy's room, they have put a bed in some closet
space. In we go to the master bedroom, queen sized bed, little Juliet balcony there,
nice spacious room. They have also got something going on here with some space for a desk etc. Bathroom is in original condition, original tile, which is very pleasant. Jetted bath tub,
and again its all in such good condition. It never fails to amaze me how well these
properties are maintained. This window is a nice feature, gives some extra light. That's
basically it. Painted Cliff is a townhouse complex at the top of Painted Cliff Road,
an excellent ski in ski out property.
4.28 If you want to see what else is on the market for ski in ski out properties, check out my website which is whistlerskiinskiout.com and its Marion Anderson signing off. Thank you.

Rovaniemi: The Home of Father Christmas
Rovaniemi is the capital of Lapland, in Northern Finland, and it is placed just a smidge over the line of the Arctic Polar Circle. Unsurprisingly, the climate is positively freezing during the winter months. The average temperature recorded in February 2018 was 13 degrees Celsius below zero. In the Fahrenheit world, this is more or less Alaska.

#Ningwu Ice Cave #China Adventure #Travellers #A Trip Around the World Travel
Ningwu Ice Cave is the largest one in China, and it has a cool trick up its sleeve: it stays frozen all year round, including in the blazing heat of summer. Located in the mountains of the Shanxi Province in China, the Ningwu Cave is 280 feet (85 meters) deep and situated on the side of a mountain more than 6,500 feet (2,000 meters) above sea level. Its walls and floors are literally coated with slicks of ice, with stalactites (icicles, basically) stretching from ceiling to floor.
