Sheffield United Football Club is a professional football club in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. They compete in League One, the third tier of English football. The football club was formed in 1889 as an offshoot of Sheffield United Cricket Club, and are nicknamed The Blades due to Sheffield's history of steel production. The club have played their home games at Bramall Lane since their formation in 1889.
Sheffield United won the League in 1898 and the FA Cup in 1899, 1902, 1915 and 1925. They were beaten finalists in the FA Cup in 1901 and 1936, and reached the semi-finals in 1961, 1993, 1998, 2003 and 2014. They reached the semi-finals of the League Cup in 2003.

Sheffield Castle, England 1270 -1647
The origins and final destruction of one of the largest castles built in medieval England, Sheffield Castle. Constructed by Thomas de Furnival and later owned by the Earls of Shrewsbury, Sheffield Castle was for 14 years the gaol for Mary, Queen of Scots. It was destroyed by resolution of the House of Commons in 1647.

Sheffield 'Conquerors group' day out to Derwent cycle hire in the Peak District
Yvonne, a Peak District National Park Mosaic champion, interviews Paulette and her daughters Saffron and Jordin from Sheffield after their challenging 11 mile guided cycle ride round the dams from the Peak District National Park's Derwent cycle hire centre. The views were stunning and although they were tired at the end and found it tough they would definately do it again!
