One Canada Square building at Open House London
One Canada Square is a skyscraper in Canary Wharf, London. It was the tallest building in the United Kingdom from 1990 to 2010, standing at 770 feet (235 m) above ground level and containing 50 storeys. In late 2010, it was surpassed by The Shard (completed in July 2012) which stands at 309.6 metres (1,016 ft).
One Canada Square was designed by principal architect Cesar Pelli, who based the design and shape mainly on the World Financial Center and the shape of Elizabeth Tower although the developers' (Olympia and York) previous flagship projects, First Canadian Place in Toronto and the Aon Center (formerly the Amoco building) in Chicago are earlier precedents of the building shape and plan form.
Unlike the precedents named, the building is clad with durable stainless steel rather than natural stone (which failed prematurely, requiring expensive repairs in several places). One of the predominant features of the building is the pyramid roof which contains a flashing aircraft warning light, a rare feature for buildings in the United Kingdom. The distinctive pyramid pinnacle is at 800 feet (240 m) above sea level.
One Canada Square is primarily used for offices, though there are some retail units on the lower ground floor. It is a prestigious location for offices and as of November 2015 was 100% let.
The building is recognised as a London landmark and it has gained much attention through film, television and other media when its status was the tallest building in the United Kingdom and continues to gain attention.

General Background on London Building:
Located in the heart of the City of London, our new European headquarters is the first wholly owned and designed Bloomberg building in the world. Designed to facilitate collaboration and fuel innovation, it will bring Bloomberg’s 4,000 London-based employees under one roof for the first time.
Conceived by our founder Mike Bloomberg in collaboration with leading architect Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, the new building’s design is sympathetic to its surrounding context, an exemplar of sustainable design and uniquely of its place and time – a natural extension of the City that will endure and improve the surrounding public realm.

#ReleaseMoazzam - Demo outside Home Office London @13.30 - 02/03/2014
Sunday 2nd March 2014 @ 1.30pm.
Demonstrate against the unjust arrest, detention and charge of #MoazzamBegg.
We are against: - the Government's criminalisation of activism - penalising ideologies - and reducing humanitarian aid to a terrorist offence.
Location: Outside Home Office, 2 Marsham Street, SW1P 4DF
Nearest stations: St James Park, Westminster or Pimlico
Moazzam Begg, a well known human rights activist, has just been charged under Section 6 and Section 17 of the Terrorism Act, for 'providing training and funding terrorism overseas'. What this really means is people cannot speak the truth against the government because if they do, they will be arrested and charged using bogus and totally fabricated claims to silence them.
It appears we are moving towards a dystopian and totalitarian society, envisioned by Orson Wells, where everything will be controlled by the government and any one who questions them will be silenced.

Know The British Reel 1 (1974)
Fabulous documentary made to educate American businessmen on the peculiar ways, customs, etiquette and traditions of the British. Do they mean us?!
C/U of one of Her Majesty's Horse Guards sitting astride his horse. Camera pulls back. Various shots of London landmarks and street scenes. Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, Policemen, traffic warden, fruit and vegetable market stall, girl riding a bicycle through London traffic, Rolls Royce, Tower Bridge, kids sitting on one of the Lions in Trafalgar Square, girl feeding pigeons in the Square, Post Office Tower, Nelson's column, London bus etc.
American voiceover speaks of Britain's former Empire. Empire marked in red on a map. Fast moving shot across the sea towards White Cliffs of Dover - shot from an aircraft. Aerial shot moves across the fields. Other aerial shots of large stately homes. Voiceover speaks of how Britain was the home of the inventor of the steam engine, the hovercraft and of the discoverer of electricity and of the pioneers in the field of atomic research. Narrator advises that if you want to do business there remember that it was the seed bed of the 19th Century Industrial Revolution, one of the most important financial centres and one of the worlds major manufacturing and trading nations. Victorian engraving and contemporary shot of Bank of England. Business men on their way to work. London traffic. Brewers dray. Women walking to work.
Voiceover: We shall tell you who the Britons are, where they are and how to treat them socially, commercially. L/S of Post Office (BT) Tower; pull back and pan across rooftops of London and River Thames to Tower Bridge. Narrator gives facts and figures about London then describes how the United Kingdom is not just London but made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Geographic facts are given. If you are not absolutely certain do not call anyone an Englishman - he may be from Scotland... English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish flags are shown. Call them all British - this avoids giving offence. Typical British businessman in suit and bowler hat stands in front of National Westminster Bank sign. He walks along and walks through the doors of a building. Narrator states that the old idea of business being dominated by tradition is no longer correct. British business is now much more flexible. The man walks into a modern office. British business practice is compared to the North American style and the European style. Businessman is seen travelling in a taxi consulting his papers.
Narrator advises that Most executives appreciate at least one month's notice to make an appointment. also advises to make a time for the meeting be precise - they like it. The British like to be on time. Continued.

UK Hydrographic Office Building
Footage of the new UKHO Building in Taunton which was officially opened in April 2019 by the Princess Royal.
The redevelopment of the headquarters was led by AHR Architects, BAM Construction and Mace group, with BCL’s panels as its defining feature. BCL supplied and installed the internal cladding for the space, using Siberian Larch panels measured at 19 x 44 mm and Oak battens fixed in the centre of each board. The timber spans over 2000 m2 of the building. Each slat had been treated with class 0 fire protection and has black acoustic fabric between timber battens. Using our secret fixings, the timber is given a smooth finish, with no visible screws or nails.
We are thrilled to have been instrumental in the production of this fantastic new work space.
