Country Walks - The Practical Traveller's Guide to the Three Cups to Rushlake Green East Sussex

This time we are on a country walk in East Sussex from the hamlet of Three Cups down to Rushlake Green a traditional English village with a green shop and pub.

Starting at Three Cups Corner on the B2059 – easy to park up

The 16th century Three Cups Inn is a very picturesque beamed pub with an open inglenook fireplace - a great place to sit in the winter, serves a selection of food.

This walk is on a quiet B road; we have done the walk numerous times running, with a buggy and with a dog on a lead.

As you come into Turners Green - you will see the first “Finger Post Sign” - veer to the right and continue.

On the left you will The Chantry - a restored chapel now used for weddings.

Look out for the yellow East Sussex Council Footpath signs. Whilst our walk is down a road; there are many walks you can take across country.

The walk down to Rushlake Green is about 20 minutes.

Earliest records of the village date back to the 16th century although the Horse and Groom pub and other cottages were built in the 17th century.

Thriving village with lots of events including a flower show in the summer and a huge fire works event.

This walk can be started at either end of the lane.

Royal Charter, Registered Irish Draught Mare, Heathfield Blue Chip Class, May 28th 2011 (Part One)

Royal Charter competed in the Blue Chip Qualifier at Heathfield. This Qualifer enables her to compete at the Irish Draught Society Breed Show In September.

(There are a total of Four Parts To This Video Set. This is part three showing her being shown in hand without tack).

She was ridden in by our trainer Rachael Smith, after circling the ring, the judge called the competitors in where he mounted each horse in turn.

The judge commented that she gave the best ride of all the horses presented for the competition, and was the only one who gave him the rein.

After the judge dismounted, she was stripped of tack and shown in hand. She was then tacked back up and ridden again by Rachael.

Unfortunately due to the fact Royal Charter is an athlete, she is muscular rather than overweight, due to her lack of extra weight she was marked down.
