Rochester Kings Set Sights on American Arena League Throne
The Rochester Kings are preparing to kick off their season against the New Jersey Flight Saturday, Mar. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex.
“Last year left a bitter taste in our mouth losing the championship game,” said Kings’ Head Coach Derrick Dyer. The Kings lost the championship to the Vermont Bucks in the Can-Am Indoor Football League last year.
This year, the Kings will be playing in the American Arena League as a result of a merger between Arena Pro Football and the Can-Am Indoor Football League.
“I feel like we are going to be one of the top contenders, if not the top contender inside of this league,” said Kings’ owner and general manager Felix Joyner. He believes his team is counted out but has what it takes to compete in their new league this season.

University of Oxford United Kingdom ranking 2 in 2016-2017 England
Oxford is just 58 minutes away from London Paddington Station and about the same by car, but on Saturdays parking is pretty difficult. The University of Oxford (informally Oxford University or simply Oxford) is a collegiate research university located in Oxford, England, United Kingdom. While having no known date of foundation, there is evidence of teaching as far back as 1096,[1] making it the oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world's second-oldest surviving university.[1][8] It grew rapidly from 1167 when Henry II banned English students from attending the University of Paris.[1] After disputes between students and Oxford townsfolk in 1209, some academics fled northeast to Cambridge where they established what became the University of Cambridge.[9] The two ancient universities are frequently jointly referred to as Oxbridge.
The university is made up of a variety of institutions, including 38 constituent colleges and a full range of academic departments which are organised into four divisions.[10] All the colleges are self-governing institutions as part of the university, each controlling its own membership and with its own internal structure and activities.[11] Being a city university, it does not have a main campus; instead, all the buildings and facilities are scattered throughout the city centre. Most undergraduate teaching at Oxford is organised around weekly tutorials at the self-governing colleges and halls, supported by classes, lectures and laboratory work provided by university faculties and departments.
Oxford is the home of the Rhodes Scholarship, one of the world's oldest and most prestigious scholarships, which has brought graduate students to study at the university for more than a century.[12] The university operates the world's oldest university museum, as well as the largest university press in the world[13] and the largest academic library system in Britain.[14] Oxford has educated many notable alumni, including 28 Nobel laureates, 27 Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom, and many foreign heads of state.[15]The University of Oxford has no known foundation date.[16] Teaching at Oxford existed in some form as early as 1096, but it is unclear when a university came into being.[1] It grew quickly in 1167 when English students returned from the University of Paris.[1] The historian Gerald of Wales lectured to such scholars in 1188 and the first known foreign scholar, Emo of Friesland, arrived in 1190. The head of the university was named a chancellor from at least 1201 and the masters were recognised as a universitas or corporation in 1231. The university was granted a royal charter in 1248 during the reign of King Henry III.[17]
After disputes between students and Oxford townsfolk in 1209, some academics fled from the violence to Cambridge, later forming the University of Cambridge.[9][18]
Aerial view of Merton College's Mob Quad, the oldest quadrangle of the university, constructed in the years from 1288 to 1378
The students associated together on the basis of geographical origins, into two nations, representing the North (Northern or Boreales, which included the English people north of the River Trent and the Scots) and the South (Southern or Australes, which included English people south of the Trent, the Irish and the Welsh).[19][20] In later centuries, geographical origins continued to influence many students' affiliations when membership of a college or hall became customary in Oxford. In addition to this, members of many religious orders, including Dominicans, Franciscans, Carmelites and Augustinians, settled in Oxford in the mid-13th century, gained influence and maintained houses or halls for students.[21] At about the same time, private benefactors established colleges to serve as self-contained scholarly communities. Among the earliest such founders were William of Durham, who in 1249 endowed University College,[21] and John Balliol, father of a future King of Scots; Balliol College bears his name.[19] Another founder, Walter de Merton, a Lord Chancellor of England and afterwards Bishop of Rochester, devised a series of regulations for college life;[22][23] Merton College thereby became the model for such establishments at Oxford,[24] as well as at the University of Cambridge. Thereafter, an increasing number of students forsook living in halls and religious houses in favour of living in colleges.[21]
In 1333–34, an attempt by some dissatisfied Oxford scholars to found a new university at Stamford, Lincolnshire was blocked by the universities of Oxford and Cambridge petitioning King Edward III.[25] Thereafter, until the 1820s, no new universities were allowed to be founded in England, even in London; thus, Oxford and Cambridge had a duopoly, which was unusual in western European countries.[26][27]

The Ark of the Covenant
The Ark of the Covenant, the sacred vessel of the ten commandments and the mobile sanctuary of the spirit of God, is frequently alluded to in the old testament. According to scripture, it dried up rivers, destroyed city walls, and killed people en masse. Then, it simply vanished. In this video, we explore the history of the ark, and look at a few theories to account for its disappearance as well as its whereabouts today.
** CORRECTION
A viewer with a much better knowledge of Hebrew than myself point out an error I made at the beginning of this video, where I claim that the Hebrew word for Ark is the same word used for boat in the language. Below is an excerpt from the viewer's email to me:
The Hebrew term ארון (aron) is not used for boat in the Hebrew Scriptures, but only for a chest of some sort, and nearly exclusively in the Hebrew Scriptures for the Ark of the Covenant. But this Hebrew word is also used for Joseph's coffin, and for a chest for collecting coins. Other than those two other usages, I did not find anything greater than chest size. A different Hebrew term, תיבה (tevah) is used for Noah's ark, and this word is never used for the Ark of the Covenant. However, many generations after the writing of the Hebrew Bible, Jewish writers in Greek translated those two different terms with the Greek term κιβωτός, (kibotos) which would be similar to calling them both an Ark. But in the original Hebrew, they are not the same word. At the following link go to the paragraph labled Thayer's Greek Lexicon for more details.
** CORRECTION
Solomon was the third king of the United Monarch of Israel, not the second king, as I state in the video.

Places to see in ( West Malling - UK )
Places to see in ( West Malling - UK )
West Malling is a historic market town in the Tonbridge and Malling district of Kent, England. It has a population of about 2,500 to 5,000. West Malling contains several historic buildings, including St Leonard's Tower, a Norman keep built by Bishop Gundulf (bishop between 1077 and 1108). He also built the White Tower of the Tower of London, the castles of Rochester and Colchester, and the Priory and Cathedral of Rochester. In c.1090 Gundulf founded St. Mary's Abbey in West Malling for Benedictine nuns. This historic site contains significant buildings from the Norman, medieval, Tudor and Georgian eras. There is also a Grade II* Listed 1966 abbey church which is used by the Anglican Benedictine nuns who have made Malling Abbey their home since 1916.
Other buildings of interest in West Malling include the Prior's House, once a residence for those with leprosy; Ford House, over 600 years old; a mainly Georgian High Street; the Swan Hotel, an 18th-century coaching inn (Grade II listed), and Went House, built c.1720 and noted for its elegant brickwork. Manor Park Country Park is just to the south of the town, close to St Leonard's Tower and Douce's Manor, whose grounds the park once comprised.
This new parish is a mixed residential housing estate and commercial development formed from parts of West Malling, Mereworth, East Malling and Wateringbury. The 2004 Wealth of the Nation report lists Kings Hill as having the highest average income and the highest proportion of households earning more than £100,000 per annum in Great Britain.
West Malling is some 35 miles (56 km) from central London, next to the main road between London and the coastal ferry ports of Folkestone and Dover and with good links by road and rail; the area has become a popular commuter location. Originally established on the main road to London from the coast, West Malling is about a mile (1½ km) from Junction 4 of the M20, and from Junction 2 of the M26 which leads on to the M25, encircling London.
West Malling station, situated on the outskirts of the town, provides a regular service, operated by Southeastern Trains, up to Victoria, and down to Maidstone and Ashford. Journeys into London take around one hour. Direct services to London Bridge and Cannon Street were withdrawn in December 2009. With the recent development of Kings Hill, the station was renamed West Malling for Kings Hill, and in 2007 road access was provided from the West Malling bypass, taking commuter traffic away from the High Street.
( West Malling - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting West Malling . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in West Malling - UK

Mary I - Bloody Mary (British Monarchy Documentary) | Timeline
Check out our new website for more incredible history documentaries: HD and ad-free.
Mary was a queen driven by faith, she would send hundreds of her subjects to burn at the stake.
Written and presented by Dr David Starkey, this is the compelling story of two of England's most striking monarchs: a brother and sister, tied by blood and affection, and torn apart by religion, power, and some of the bloodiest episodes in English history. Mary (who was to become England's first reigning Queen since Matilda but who is best known to generations of British schoolchildren as Bloody Mary) was the first born child of Henry VIII. For 20 years she was heir to her adored father. Then came the birth of her little half-brother Edward, and Mary found herself cast into the shadows, ignored by her father and declared illegitimate by Act of Parliament. Nonetheless she became very attached to the motherless boy, and he to her, declaring her his dearest sister. When Edward was just nine, their father died and the young boy became King, surrounded by advisors and further distanced from his beloved elder sister. But by now they were divided not just by power and status, but also by faith. Mary was a staunch Catholic, Edward a reforming Protestant: at this time such matters were not an issue of personal choice but matters of life or death, treason or heresy. Within a few years Mary was under virtual house arrest and banned from celebrating mass; within a few more years Edward was dead at the tragically early age of 16 and Mary became Queen. She set about making England a Catholic country once more and hundreds of Protestants, including Edward's most trusted advisors, were burnt at the stake because they refused to renounce their faith.

Upnor Castle explored
Set in tranquil grounds adjoining a riverside village, this rare example of an Elizabethan artillery fort was begun in 1559 and redeveloped in 1599-1601, to protect warships moored at Chatham dockyards. Despite a brave attempt, it entirely failed to do so in 1667, when the Dutch sailed past it to burn or capture the English fleet at anchor..........

Ironclad Trailer 2011
It is the year 1215 and the rebel barons of England have forced their despised King John to put his royal seal to the Magna Carta, a noble, seminal document that upheld the rights of free-men.
Yet within months of pledging himself to the great charter, the King reneged on his word and assembled a mercenary army on the south coast of England with the intention of bringing the barons and the country back under his tyrannical rule.
Barring his way stood the mighty Rochester castle, a place that would become the symbol of the rebel's momentous struggle for justice and freedom.
Abigail & Brittany Hensel - The Twins Who Share a Body
Although they are two completely separate people, these accomplished teens share a body and have just two arms and legs between them.
Born in 1990, the girls have been brought up in a small, tightly knit community in Minnesota, almost completely protected from prying eyes and inquisitive stares. To their friends and family, they are distinct people with very different personalities, needs, tastes and desires. But to the outside world they are a medical mystery -- particularly given the fact that they can do virtually all the same things as their friends, including playing the piano, riding a bike, swimming and playing softball Their personalities make them inspirational, says their mother Patty. They never give up; anything they want to do, they go out and do it.
The medical world is keen to find out how two separate brains and nervous systems can work in such a perfectly co-ordinated way, but the twins and their family have always resisted non-essential medical tests. The family want to treat them as though they are just like everyone else, says Joy Westerdahl, the girls' doctor, who admits that it is a mystery how their unique physiology functions.
As they enter adulthood, the twins are likely to leave the haven of their home town and face the wider world. In preparation for that time, they have taken part in this intimate documentary to show the world what it is like to be joined for life.
English vs American Labrador Retrievers Part 2
This is the second video in our series explaining the differences between types of Labrador Retrievers; well at least from my perspective.
Extract from an article published by the Labrador Retriever Club USA:
“Within the Labrador Retriever breed type there are variations in body style which have evolved to suit the use of the dog, as well as the preferences of individual breeders and owners. In the United States the general public has begun to label these variations mistakenly as English or American style. Perhaps a better description for variations in style is show/conformation or working/field styles.
The working/field or American style of dog is the label often attached to a Labrador possessing lighter bone structure and exhibiting more length of leg, a less dense coat, and a narrower head with more length of muzzle.
The conformation/show or English style Labrador is generally thought of as a stockier dog, heavier of bone and shorter on leg and with a denser coat, and having a head often described as square or blocky. However, working/field variations occur in England as well, so this description is not necessarily suitable.”
The first Labradors in the United States were imported from England in 1911.
