PUERTO VALLARTA - Mexico
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Stretching around the sparkling blue Bahía de Banderas and backed by lush palm-covered mountains, Puerto Vallarta (or just 'Vallarta' to many) is one of Mexico's most enticing coastal destinations. Each year millions come to laze on the dazzling sandy beaches, browse in the quirky shops, nosh in the stylish restaurants and wander the picturesque central streets and enticing malecón (boardwalk). There are activities aplenty, including boat trips, horseback rides, diving trips and day trips to the interior. After sunset, Vallarta takes on a new identity with pumping nightlife along the cobblestone streets.

Tour & Reviews of Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta 2019
Grand hotel in Mexico's legendary Pacific Coast resort town of Puerto Vallarta. It's the ideal spot for a romantic getaway with the one you love – a place to forget about the bustle of daily life and recapture the closeness, the romance, and the passion that come so naturally when surrounded by such a beautiful place. The hotel is located just six minutes from the Historic Downtown District and 20 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport
We were on floor 8 in the south tower, just 3 rooms along from the skybar. It was quite loud at night, which didn’t bother us too much, but if you want a quiet room you would need to request to be at the far side of the south or north tower, away from the bar.
The staff in the resort are all incredibly friendly and helpful and are an absolute credit to the hotel. The entertainment staff in particular (Juan, Emilio, Abraham & Roberto) really made the trip for us! There was always so much going on by the pool whether it be aqua fitness, card games, cooking classes, silly games or water volleyball, and the team were great at getting people involved! There’s sometimes even things to win up for grabs, like free massages or excursions (we actually won an excursion with Vallarta Adventures which was awesome, and worth $129!)
The pool area is fun and lively during the day, and there are lots of pool-side activities you can hop into at a moment's notice (card games, bartending class, tortilla-making class, dance lessons, to name a few). The activity staff are all amazing and by the end of the week, they felt like an extension of our group - love when they can join in on our volleyball games!
The food was great. The 3 speciality restaurants (Asian, Mexican & Italian) produced delicious and high quality food. The service did drop a little on the weekends when it was busy, but nothing that was really a problem. The portions aren’t huge which we liked - they certainly don’t scrimp on the more expensive ingredients and don’t try and fill you with excessive carbs - there’s always the option to order more too for those that do prefer larger meals. The cervicheria is a great option for lunch - so much fresh fish & seafood! The grill (and pool food service) caters more towards burgers/tacos/hot dogs. There really is so much choice for whichever style of dining you prefer. We also tried the buffet - good selection at breakfast with an egg station, fresh juicing station etc. At lunch and dinner there didn’t feel to be as much choice at the buffet, so we just stuck with the a la Carte restaurants after one trip. A few people have complained on reviews about things like the coffee bar in the lobby charging - this is just if you want Starbucks branded coffee. You can pick up a standard coffee for no cost.
The cocktails and drinks at the bars were amazing - definitely quite strong and the choice was not limited! The pool service waiters were great - Fernando and the team made sure we were never without! Would have been good to have a menu at the pool bar as inspiration on what cocktails to order.
The resort is absolutely beautiful. The location is stunning, and the resort is kept incredibly clean. They treated our room with tea tree oil daily, and we did not see a single insect in our room, which is unheard of south of the border. The maid service was impeccable.
The location of the property is convenient to town. It is a $10-$15 US cab ride, and the hotel staff will get you a taxi super fast. There is a cool littl towwn further up the coast that has a tequila distellery that is worth chekcing out (I think it is called Mama someething). We went in to town twice. We tried both of the microbreweries and had dinner at Jo Jack's fishouse, which is awesome. We also ate street tacos at a little place called Carboncito. Also outstanding.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and the things that weren’t 100% in no way affected our enjoyment! Would definitely recommend!

Puerto Vallarta Mexico, The Movie (Predator), Jungle Tour 1999
Predator is a 1987 American science fiction action film directed by John McTiernan and written by brothers Jim and John Thomas.[4] It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite military rescue team on a mission to save hostages in guerrilla-held territory in an unspecified country in Central America.[notes 1] Kevin Peter Hall co-stars as the eponymous antagonist, a technologically advanced form of extra-terrestrial life secretly stalking and hunting the team. Predator was written in 1984, under the working title of Hunter. Filming ran from March-June 1986 and creature effects were devised by Stan Winston.
The film's budget was around $15 million. 20th Century Fox released it in the United States on June 12, 1987, where it grossed $59,735,548. Initial critical reaction was mixed; criticism focused on the thin plot. In subsequent years, critics' attitudes toward the film became positive, and it has appeared on a number of best of lists and is now considered one of the best action films of all time.[5] It spawned three sequels, Predator 2 (1990), Predators (2010) and The Predator (2018). A crossover with the Alien franchise produced the Alien vs. Predator films, which includes Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007).
Commitments by Schwarzenegger delayed the start of filming by several months. The delay gave Silver enough time to secure a minor rewrite from screenwriter David Peoples. Principal photography eventually began in the jungles of Palenque, Mexico, near Villahermosa, Tabasco, during the second week of March 1986, but most of the film was shot in Mismaloya, Mexico. Much of the material dealing with the unit's deployment in the jungle was completed in a few short weeks and both Silver and Gordon were pleased by the dailies provided by McTiernan. On Friday, April 25, production halted so that Schwarzenegger could get to his wedding on time, flying to Hyannis Port in a Learjet chartered by Silver. Schwarzenegger was married on April 26, 1986, to Maria Shriver, and honeymooned for only three days while the second unit completed additional lensing. The production resumed filming on May 12 and ended in late June 1986.
