Brief transcript below:
In this Arashiyama Bamboo Grove travel guide, we show you how to get Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Kyoto, what to do, and offer up tips from our own experiences for your visit to the natural wonder of the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in kyoto.
We took the JR Sanin Main Line also known as the Sagano line from Kyoto Station to Arashiyama and alighted at Saga-Arashiyama Station
From Saga-Arashiyama Station we walked about 5-10 minute to the entrance of the bamboo garden. There will be signs showing the way to the bamboo forest on the floor of the streets in Japanese and English.
Usually there will be lots of people walking towards the Bamboo Forest entrance, so it makes it easier to identify and walk up the stone pathway. In the alley there will be a few shops selling Japanese souvenirs and food.
Keep walking up this alley and it will lead you into the Bamboo forest Entrance.
Bamboo is considered a symbol of strength and a forest of them wards off evil spirits which is why this bamboo forest has at one end Tenryu-ji Temple.
At the other end of the Bamboo Forest is Okochi-Sanso Villa (open daily, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., admission 1,000 yen), a home that was owned by a very famous Japanese silent film star Denjiro Okochi.
Strolling though the bamboo forest is free and can be done any time of the day or night as it is open 24 hours a day. Of course if you want some great pictures the day time is recommended.
Wear good shoes if you plan to walk and make sure your camera works for some awesome pictures among these tall bamboo forests.
Along the pathway you can visit the Nonomiya shrine and temple.
This Nonomiya Temple and Shrine had a special historical role in preparing imperial princesses to serve as vestal virgins at the Grand Shrine of Ise, Japan's most important Shinto shrine.
The skinny towering bamboos sway in the wind and the rustling of its leaves lends to a zen atmosphere. The bamboo trees are so close that the leaves rustling in the wind coordinate to make a peaceful melody.
The bamboos grow densely only letting sunshine filter as the leaves are rocked by the wind which set up the stage for beautiful photos.
Come early so its is less crowded for better shots. After all Arashiyama Bamboo forest is one of the most photographed sites in the world.
Combine your visit to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest with other attractions in the area like the traditional cormorant fishing practiced along the Hozu River, the Tenryuji Temple, and the train ride.

Day Trip to Arashiyama
I took a day trip with some classmates to Arashiyama, a beautiful rural district on the western outskirts of Kyoto where the Ōi River meets the mountains. We took a climb up to the Monkey Park, visited Tenryū-ji temple (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), walked through the bamboo forest at Sagano, and then chilled by the river. I'd definitely go again!
Arashiyama - Music Box Museum
Out of personal interest I recorded inside a music box museum located in Arashiyama, not sure whether it wasallowed or not though, nobody said anything so don't tell anyone ok? ;-)

How I ENJOY KYOTO in 15 Hours & NOZOMI Bullet Train Experience + Arashiyama Bamboo | [Kyoto Vlog]
***Japan With Me - Episode 18 (Stream at 1080p for BETTER-QUALITY video)*** Amazing, amazing and amazing! I had such a great time in Kyoto. If you go there, buy the all-day bus pass for only 600 Yen. We started off really early on that day so we could go to all places! My cousin and I decided to buy the Nozomi Bullet Train tickets to save more time. However, this was so expensive. It costed us like around 80 AUD from Nagoya to Kyoto. The experience was good, very stable and super fast! That train was so long!!! Like 10 cars or something. I tried my best to balance the coin but it didn't go well! We arrived at Kyoto Station at nearly 8 am and continued to our first stop! Arashiyama Bamboo Grove was our first destination. When you go to Kyoto, make sure to go there like really early in the morning to avoid the crowd. The Kyoto Bamboo Forest was so peaceful to just walk around and take pictures. We then caught a bus to the Golden temple or Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) by the time we got there it was quite crowded. Third destination is Gion District, it used to be a Geisha entertainment district back in the ancient. It is quite a cool setting to photos as well :) That was a summer time in Japan. Everything was so hot!!! The Forth destination was called Kiyomizudera Temple. It was quite a walk from the main street. You pretty have to walk through a village to the top of the mountain! It would look so cool in Winter time though. We pretty much stayed around the temple area and drink some Starbucks. As you have notices, this Japanese Starbucks is quite different. The setting is done in a Japanese style house which will be shown in the next episode. Getting to places in Kyoto is very easy. You can get by everywhere with the bus pass! Thank you very much once again for watching. Don't forget to check out my other food videos and travel vlog series :) Follow me on IG @tovnadavid Kpop reaction channel Have a good day!
