My Arms - Rehearsal Diary
Northern Tour :: Salford | Wigan | Malton | Preston | Liverpool
Following a critically-acclaimed production at the 24:7 Theatre Festival this summer, My Arms returns for a small-scale tour of the North of England.
Do you think you were coming back here? Brave. Brave of you to think that.
A rainy night in Manchester. Colin finally returns home to face up to his past, but wife Helen is struggling to rebuild what is left of their broken home.
Told in reverse order, My Arms is a compelling new drama about the limits of love and our willingness to forgive.
One of the highlights of this year's 24:7... An excellent play

Liverpool Halloween Lantern Carnival 2012
The Halloween Lantern Carnival is a large scale and spectacular night time event which combines huge local community involvement with the some of the country's leading outdoor theatre makers, as well as new international guests artists and collaborators. This year's annual event took place on Sunday 28th October in Sefton Park, Liverpool, drawing audiences of around 10,000.
The event featured a central character, 'The Dreamer', a giant sized old lady who floated through the park, watering the dreams of her youth with a giant watering can, passing various bedroom installations en route, before falling asleep in her own bed, where we watched her dreams unfold above her bed, through beautiful projections and live animation.
This year, alongside many of our long term partners, we were delighted to invite new collaborators: Delirium Lumens from France, whose vivid surrealist projections and live animation created the old lady's dreamscapes, as well as fire alchemists, And Now: a new company forged from The World Famous, whose large scale fire installation illuminated the boating lake. We also partnered with 10 superb local theatre companies and arts organisations, 5 bands/choirs, all of whom created performance and music for the event.
We held lantern making workshops in diverse communities across the city, working in partnership with 30 community groups, and ran our highly acclaimed apprentice artist programme, where emerging artists work alongside our lead artists throughout the project.
The main funders were: Arts Council England, Liverpool City Council and the 2012 Decade of Health and Well Being, and a special Thankyou goes to the hundreds of artists, technicians and volunteers who contributed to the event, without whom it simply could not happen.

Luminous Landscapes Festival of Light 2016
The Lantern Company in partnership with Liverpool City Council and many other local organisations, produced our first 3-day Luminous Landscapes Festival of Light and the Environment in the beautifully restored Liverpool Festival Gardens. The event sold out with audiences of over 10,000. Held on this former city landfill site, we worked with a brilliant local, national and international team to create a beautiful trail of illuminated artworks, puppets, performance, live music, sound scapes and installations which led the audience on a journey through the woodlands, waterways and pathways of the gardens. Taking the environmental mantra of Reduce, Re-use and Recycle as our guiding principle, the event celebrated the awesome power and beauty of the natural world and warned us of what we stand to lose if we don’t look after our world properly.
We also held lantern making workshops for local communities and families at venues across the city, with those who took part becoming part of the whole experience, by bringing their hand made lanterns to add to the event.
The event was a culmination of 12 years of the Lantern Company’s work to date, and also celebrated the partnerships that we have made with local colleges, arts organsations and theatre companies over this time, as well as new collaborations. In keeping with the recycling theme, the festival included work by many artists and technicians who have worked with the company over the years, much of it up-cycled for this event. A huge thank you everyone involved in making such a special event happen.
Luminous Landscapes was funded by Arts Council England, Liverpool City Council, Granada Foundation, Your Housing and Merseytravel, and a crowdfunding campaign.

The Crucible - Liverpool Network Theatre Group's trailer
The Crucible
by Arthur Miller
Liverpool Network Theatre Group bring you Arthur Miller's enduring masterpiece, The Crucible. Taking place during the Salem witch hunt of 1692, the play draws parallels with the McCarthy witch hunts which occurred during the playwright's lifetime in 1950's America.
Religion, family, ritual, youth and passion come together in this timeless story. The play's themes of evil, persecution, perception, group hysteria and social judgement are still very much alive and relevant in Britain today and across the world.
Performed at the intimate Lantern Theatre Liverpool, this is a depiction not to be missed.
Performance Dates:
Friday 21st March 7.30pm
Saturday 22nd March 1.30pm and 7.30pm
Tickets: £7 and £5 concession.
Tickets available from:
This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd

#RedPhoneBox- London, January 2016
#RedPhoneBox was a live art event in January 2016, as part of WHOSE LONDON IS IT ANYWAY? A festival of theatre and events exploring the changing face of London, curated by The Camden People's Theatre.
Londoners and those visiting the city were given the chance to share their stories, memories and thoughts of the iconic British red phone box in an attempt to reclaim it and reopen a channel of communication that's dwindling.
Participants had 3 minutes inside the red phone box outside the St. Pancras Hotel on Euston Road- this clip shows footage from the event and some of the weekend's highlights.
