Highlights from the Lee Valley Water Centre as Great Britain's Tim Baillie and Etienne Stott win Gold in the Men's Canoe Double during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
In 1924 in Paris, flatwater canoeing featured at the Games as a demonstration sport. Canoe and kayak racing became full medal sports at the 1936 Berlin Games. However events were initially limited to canoe sprint until canoe slalom made its debut at the 1972 Munich Games. Slalom racing was not competed again in the Olympic Games until the 1992 Barcelona Games.

I am cycling from the Gunpowder Park located in Essex Borough of Epping Forest to Enfield Island Village which is located at the East end of London Borough of Enfield through the Lee Valley area.
Finish Line is at the Enfield Lock junction.

Lee Valley White Water Centre - Schools Festival
The 2014 Schools Festival at Lee Valley White Water Centre saw schools from 53 boroughs and districts in London, Essex and Hertfordshire, come to try out the rapids, where Britain triumphed during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
