New Brighton Magic tricks in The Light Cinema, Marine Point
Please watch: funny comedy original tv licence song
--~--
From a few weeks ago. Here I'm entertaining some of the young customers in The Light Cinema in New Brighton. My protégé, Kevin Jay also performs there from time to time. This was an impromptu performance made up on the spot and is therefore a bit rough round the edges but they seemed to like it. The kids involved even came back to see me on the Promenade a few days later whilst I was doing some busking to ask when they could see it on youtube. I wish I was able to keep this up but it gets a bit too much unfortunately. I love being able to go and do a bit when I'm able though. It makes me feel valuable again.

Life Inside Britain's Legal Red Light District | Sex, Drugs & Murder - Episode 1
An uncompromising look at the lives of sex workers in an area of Leeds where, if you're buying or selling sex, you won’t get arrested.
The red light zone was introduced to try and make the lives of the women who work there safer. We meet the sisters who work together on the streets, as they talk candidly about how every night they put their lives at risk. And as one of them describes how they were brutally attacked, we ask - is this pioneering experiment is working?

Sheffield in a different light.
Sheffield Botanical Gardens are situated approximately 1 mile south west of Sheffield City Centre. The site is set on a south - west sloping aspect within a residential area close to local businesses, major hospitals and Sheffield University. The Gardens are located at 120m altitude. The soil is a slightly acid clay loam. These 7.9 hectare (19 acre) gardens were originally designed by Robert Marnock (1800-1889) in the “Gardenesque” style. The Gardens date from 1833 and are grade 2 listed by English Heritage due to the preservation of much of the original design, and the concentration of historical listed buildings and structures. These include the Glass Pavilions that are some of the earliest curvilinear glass structures ever built. The Gardens are also a popular public park, with strong botanical and horticultural interest and open to the public, with free entry, 364 days a year.
A central feature of the Gardens are the sweeping lawns with mature trees which create a setting for the restored linear glass Pavilions. The grand central Broadwalk leading up to the glass Pavilions is framed by colourful herbaceous borders. The splendid Gatehouse entrance arch and Tearooms are complemented by formal Victorian bedding displays.
Initiated in 1833, the Gardens were designed by Robert Marnock for the recreation and education of members of the original Sheffield Botanical & Horticultural Society. The Gardens opened to a paying public in 1836 but by the turn of the century Sheffield Town Trust owned them. The Trust instituted free public access, which still remains today.
A seven-year, £6.69 million, restoration project funded through the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Urban Parks Programme was completed in December 2005. The project has restored the built heritage of the Gardens, regenerated the landscape infrastructure and developed the plant collections
Main Facilities
• Curator’s House Restaurant & Tea rooms
• Gatehouse Shop & Information point
• Public Toilets: at the top & bottom of the Gardens
• Class room & demonstration greenhouse: access by appointment: no open public access
Key Features
• Gatehouse and Main Entrance
• Curators House
• Curvilinear Glass Pavilions
• Fossil Tree
• Bear Pit
• Pan Statue
• Fountain and water features
• Riddle Trail Structures
The key features of the Gardens are surrounded by winding paths and informal plantings which create distinct character zones. The ethos of the regeneration project was the restoration of the key features and the reinstatement of the main open spaces, views and vistas from the late 19th century layout. 15 distinct character areas have been developed. Each of these is unique, and is based on a geographical or botanical theme. Three national collections are hosted by the gardens: Weigela, Diervilla and Sarcococca.
The Gardens are Grade II on the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest. They contain the highest concentration of, and perhaps the most significant grouping of listed buildings in Sheffield. They are:
Grade II* listed: The Glass Pavilions
Grade II listed: Clarkhouse Road Gatehouse and railings
South Lodge
The Bear Pit
The boundary gates and railings
The gardens has an extensive programme of events which include music, theatre, art shows and Christmas illuminations.
The Friends of the Botanical Gardens also run a programme of talks and lectures throughout the year (see fobssheffield.co.uk for details). Please note that the closing time in winter months is 4pm.

Mystify Michael Hutchence - Official Trailer
A film by Richard Lowenstein. Own it on Disc & Digital:
MYSTIFY MICHAEL HUTCHENCE is a powerfully intimate and insightful portrait of the internationally renowned #INXS frontman, #MichaelHutchence. Deftly woven from an extraordinary archive of rich imagery, Michael’s private home movies and those of his lovers, friends, and family, the film delves beneath the public persona of the charismatic ‘Rock God’ and transports us through the looking glass to reveal a multifaceted, intensely sensitive and complex man. For an all too brief time, we revel in Michael’s Dionysian beauty and sensuality on stage and off. We listen to the range of his extraordinary voice and witness the charmed way he travels through life as he is propelled to world acclaim.
But Michael struggled with the idea of success, the creative limits of pop stardom and how to express his integrity; a longing that shaped his life and music and gave birth to a desire to go far beyond the constraints of pop.
A violent event strikes Michael and changes his life forever, fracturing his sense of self and robbing him of his connection to life. Made vulnerable, he is unable to navigate the complex challenges he faces moving forward and he has little defence against the onslaught of tabloid press that descends upon his world. Amidst the encroaching darkness, Michael’s new-born daughter, Tiger, becomes his one bright light.
Richard Lowenstein directed the majority of both INXS and Michael’s music videos and the 1986 feature film, Dogs in Space, in which Michael played the lead. #Mystify

Career actors Games of Thrones before filming in the famous series Will Amaze You
Career actors Games of Thrones before filming in the famous series Will Amaze You
The series Game of Thrones was a breakthrough in the career for many newcomers - such as Sophie Turner and Macy Williams. Many actors before this show really no one knew - but now they have become incredibly famous and popular. Where did they shoot earlier and what was their acting path?
20. John Snow / Keith Harrington
Before the star role of John Snow, actor Keith Harrington honed the acting skills on the theatrical stage of the National Theater. In the production of War Horse (Battle Horse), he played the main role, but it must be said that this was his first and only experience of acting before shooting on the television series.
19. Oberin Martell / Pedro Pascal
Pedro Pascal is a veteran of television shows. He starred in Law and Order, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, New York Police, Homeland, Mentalist and a number of other TV series. Now he is invited to act in full meter.
18. Tyrion Lannister / Peter Dinklage
This actor has a lot of filmography and he was known even before appearing in The Game of Thrones. His debut took place in 1995 in the comedy drama Life in oblivion paired with Steve Buscemi.
17. Dayeneris Targarien / Emilia Clarke
Emilia Clark, despite the lack of a lot of experience in acting, managed to create an impressive image on the screen. Prior to the Game of Thrones, the actress starred in secondary roles in the British soap opera Doctors and the science fiction film of 2010 Attack from the Triassic Period.
16. Jame Lannister / Nikolai Koster-Waldau
Fans of war films knew this actor and before he became Lannister. One of the famous roles of Waldau - in the movie Black Hawk in 2001, and before that he was filming in a number of films. One of his first appearances on the screen - in the Danish thriller Night Watch 1994.
15. Khal Drogo / Jason Momoa
Studio HBO hit the bull's-eye, choosing the role of Khala Drogo is this actor - he came up perfectly. Today, Jason Momoa is more popular than ever. And he began his career with a job as a model and in 1999 he even received the title of Model of the Year in Hawaii. Then he appeared in several television series (Rescuers Malibu, Stargate: Atlantis) and 3D-action movie Conan the Barbarian.
14. Joffrey Baratheon / Jack Gleeson
Jack Gleason managed to make his character so disgusting that he eclipsed many famous screen villains. The acting path of Gleeson is very short: before the Game of Thrones he played only a few episodic roles in films whose names you will not be told. Well, except for the movie Batman Beginning, where the role of Gleeson sounds just like a boy.
13. Sandor Kligan nicknamed The Dog / Rory McCann
Before getting used to the role of the Dog, Rory McCann was already an established actor with a good track record. He has participated in such films as Young Adam, Alexander, Beowulf and Grendel, Cool tough type, Solomon Kane, Battle of the Titans, Time of the Witches. Roles, of course, secondary, but who knows - maybe the role of the Dog will bring the actor to a new level in the future.
12. Olena Tyrell / Diana Rigg
Diana Rigg - one of the most venerable actresses of the series. It has been known since the 60s. She took part in productions of the Royal Shakespeare Company, starred in the television series The Avengers as Emma Peel and in three dozen films.
11. Margery Tyrell / Natalie Dormer
Natalie Dormer - already well-known actress. Before the Game of Thrones she played the role of Anna Boleyn in the series Tudors. Actually, her acting career began in 2005 with the role of Victoria in the film Casanova. Since then, everything has been on the increase and the role in the Game of Thrones is likely to become the next step on the road to success.
10. Shaya / Sibel Kekilli
Sibel Kekilli began as a porn actress under the name Dilyar, but then she went into art cinema. The role of the prostitute Shai, who first made Tirion Lannister happy, and then betrayed him, succeeded the actress perfectly. And everyone was happy when Tirion finally killed her.
9. Ramsey Bolton / Ivan Rehn
The negative character, which is very reliably portrayed by Ivan Rehn. This young actor before the Game of Thrones has already managed to light up in the series Scum (Misfits), where he played one of the main roles - a guy who can become invisible. Prior to that, he had other roles in film and television, but came after Ducks and continued with The Game of Thrones.
8. Cersei Lannister / Lena Hidi
7. Tavin Lannister / Charles Dance
6. Ned Stark / Sean Bean
5. Robb Stark / Richard Madden
4. Robert Baratheon / Mark Eddy
3. Daario Nacharis / Mihil Heiseman
2. Gregor Kligan nicknamed Mountain / Haftor Julius Thor Bjørnsson
1. Jorah Mormont / Ian Glen
