Lookout Mountain Incline Railway Train Ride Chattanooga Tennessee (4K)
We rode the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway Train, billed as a top attraction of Chattanooga, and the steepest passenger train in the world. Originally opened in 1895, the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway has a lot of history behind it.
The ride itself is at a modest, leisurely speed, and took about 10 minutes. We were able to get a front row seat for this funicular ride, and you can see it from our POV as it left from the Upper Station to the Lower Station/St Elmo at the base of the Lookout Mountain.
This was certainly one of the highlights of our visit to Tennessee, the Volunteer State in July 2019.

Rock city Lookout Mountain and Incline Railway HD
Look out mountain is a must visit place if you are coming to south.
We had our trip to Nashville and on our way back decided to hit Lookout mountain where we covered the Rock City and Incline Railway. (Worlds steepest Incline Railway)
Driving though scenic highway was challenging and real fun. We managed to get some awesome aerial shots. Rock city is one hell of a place where you can walk between giant rocks. Barely one person can walk through the space. An adventurous trip and real fun.
From the top of the Lookout mountain you can see seven states at once. Such an incredible view you will never forget. Waterfall at the Lovers Leap was amazing.
Incline railway visit is the best ever. its damn steep that we will be amazed by the engineering fact. Even though its just a 20 min ride two way, you gonna be thrilled. Managed to get some great shot of the railway as well.
Altogether its a great getaway for kids and adults. Don't miss if you get a chance.
Hope you guys like it and Don't forget to watch in HD

Chattanooga Lookout Mountain 2018
Driving up Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee in Nov of 2018. It is a nice drive, but don't expect to see much scenery as there are a lot of trees blocking your view. Things to see include Ruby Falls and the Incline Railway.
Nine Minute Mile on the Incline Railway to Lookout Mountain (Chattanooga, TN)
Built in 1895 in just 100 days, the incline railway in Chattanooga, TN has stood the test of time and is now one of the city's most popular attractions. Aerial made sure to punch her ticket for the mile ride up to Lookout Mountain. Afterward, she met with Billy Nye, host operator of Incline Railway, to get a glimpse into the past and dive into an interesting conflict that caused this incline railway to be built.

Experience:
Lookout Mountain Incline Railway - This was a breathtaking experience. We loaded at the bottom of the mountain, where there are shops and eateries around. After you purchase tickets and go to get in line, someone will take your picture in front of a greenscreen, and you pick them up at the top of the mountain. When you load at the bottom, the train is in a semi reclining position, so the stairs and seats are all leaning back, but not uncomfortable. It takes a few minutes for everyone to load and make sure the top train is loaded as well, since they are on a pulley system. As you ride up, backwards, you get a scenic view over the city. The higher you go, the more your seat will feel correct, and you might feel like you will slide out of your seat, you won't. You WILL be looking out the roof of the train. Don't worry, there are windows. At the top of the mountain, there is a shop. There are 2 observation decks, with coin operated binoculars($0.25). The Battles for Chattanooga is about 3 blocks way. There are some other attractions to do as well, but we just went up for the views. The train runs about every 20 minutes. The ride down was just as interesting and fun as the ride up. It's interesting to see the homes pretty much right on the railway. Pay attention to the back of your tickets, some have coupons on them. We had one for a free popcorn w/ purchase of drink at the Battles for Chattanooga, and one for 10% off Starbucks at Rock City.
Rock City - We planned on getting Starbucks from across the street before we entered, but it was under renovation.(fail #1). We had a camera malfunction, so unfortunately, no video; however, IT IS BEAUTIFUL! It took us about 1.5-2 hours to walk through it. There are 2 shops to the left when you first get in, and a Burger place to the left - be prepared to pay around $10 for a hamburger. There are some tight spots, like Fat Man Squeeze where you are walking sideways between rocks. The big waterfall was died green for St.Patrick's Day. There is a swinging bridge - its not as bad as it sounds - face your fear and do it, its worth it. There was a couple there with a dog, so I guess animals are allowed. There is a Snack Bar and a Cafe at the top of the mountain with the most amazing views, so you can dine and enjoy at the same time. Unfortunately, the cafe was closed(seasonal) and only the bar was open, so we skipped both. Actually, we didn't even eat at the burger place in the front, we opted for Taco Bell instead.
Starbucks - It was pretty much the GPS's fault and Chattanooga traffic. We left Ruby Falls about 430-445 PM on a Friday evening. We were immediately stuck in traffic and had a several hour ride home. We still wanted to get Starbucks(from before Rock City) so asked Google to take us to the closest one. It was going to be about 2 miles, but take about 15 minutes - traffic. We rode for a while and realized it was going to put us on the interstate that was completely stopped.(fail#2) We asked Google again to take us to a close Starbucks. It said less than 2 miles, took us through, what appeared to be downtown Chattanooga and straight to the Erlanger Hospital entrance. Of course, the Hospital doesnt have a sign that says they have a Starbucks inside, and this hospital was HUGE - we weren't going to try to locate it.(Fail#3) Back to Google - it routes us back to almost where we came from. We FINALLY spot a Starbucks, but being in downtown Chattanooga, we decided it wasn't worth looking for a parking spot 3 blocks away to get it, (fail#4)soooooo, we opted to hit the parked interstate, and try to find one on the way.........Unfortunately, there was NOT another Starbucks for who knows how many miles, so we had to give in and get a cold can Starbucks at a gas station
