* Brew Bar
Surrounded by exposed brick walls, with an American oak bar, brass fittings and industrial lighting, the Brew Bar “smacks of a London pub” - only we serve our beer cold!
As the name suggests, beer is the focus here, with a truly ridiculous number of beer choices available (roughly 180, ranging in price from $8 to $100!) The beer list is an ever-changing nirvana of beer discovery including our own Dux beers, other local boutique craft beers, and a few more well known options - there is something there for every taste. Once in a while, a guest beer will take a spot on the 12- strong line-up of tap beer, only available until the barrel is gone
* The Emerald Room
Of course, you don’t have to drink beer here – if you prefer the grape over the hop, we also offer a selection of The Emerald Room’s extensive wine list; and if a gin and tonic, whiskey and dry, cognac or single malt is your preference the Brew Bar is also stocked with a full spirit collection.
Our full menu is available throughout the venue, offering small plates, sharing plates as well as pizza and main dishes. The menu provides plenty of options for both vegetarians and meat-eaters.
* The Upper Dux
Exposed brick and beams frame our multi-purpose zone. While the downstairs bars have a focus on beer in the Brew Bar or Wine in The Emerald Room, Upper Dux borrows its offering from both with a taste from each available, alongside the full menu from the kitchen.
Upper Dux is a bit of a chameleon, changing its vibe to suit: in the early evening you may find a mix of diners and friends catching up over a bottle of wine, while later in the evening a you may find yourself entertained by a DJ or live band.
* The Courtyard
Whether you are new to The Dux Family or have fond memories of long afternoons at the old place, you are going to feel instantly at home in our stunning outdoor area. This two level courtyard is fully covered and heated and those great big globe lights are the perfect backdrop for dusk-lit Instagram selfies!
* The Poplar Social Club
The Poplar Social Club is our little cousin to Dux Central, with it's own separate entrance directly off Poplar Lane.
This is a speakeasy - a bar borne of the Prohibition era and dedicated to the craft of the cocktail, and all other libations besides.

Discover Giesen Frosé this Summer!
Frosé [fro-zay]: Frozen Rosé Wine
Giesen 'Backyards & Rhubarbs' Frosé Cocktail
Cocktail recipe by Charles Gillet, Cocktail Extraordinaire, The Poplar Social Club
What is Frosé we hear you say? It's frozen Rosé wine - the trendiest, yummiest summer frozen drink that has become the 'it' beverage of the summer in the US and Europe - and now it has hit the Southern Hemisphere just in time for our summer!
If you're a cocktail fan, the great thing about Frosé cocktails, they can be as simple or as complicated as you like. All you need is an ice cube tray and a blender and a few ingredients of your choice or as per a recipe and you're halfway there to a refreshing cocktail that will impress.
This chic and glamorous drink is usually served in wine or cocktail glasses topped off with a strawberry or garnish of your choice, although the idea is to get creative with how you serve it to your guests.
Our Giesen 'Backyards & Rhubarbs' Frosé cocktail has been designed by Charles Gillet from The Poplar Social Club in Christchurch, New Zealand. The recipe has been designed to be made in the convenience of one's home.
The 'part' is a unit of measure, whether it's exactly 15mls or one shot glass, or the larger size of an egg cup holder. Make a big batch or an individual drink, either way the Giesen Rosé makes it magically delicious. In this case, Charles used a shot glass as a part. He made the drink in a clean jar he had at home.
Ingredients:
350ml – 750ml (1 bottle) of Giesen Rosé wine – Frozen in ice cube trays
3 parts Vodka (this can be changed to whatever you feel like, Flavoured Vodka, Rum or Gin)
2 parts of Lime Juice
1 part Barkers Squeezed Rhubarb, Raspberry & Rosehip fruit syrup (you can find this in the cordial aisle of the supermarket)
1. Preparation: pour the Giesen Rosé wine into large ice cube trays or large snaplock bag rested in a bowl. Put in freezer overnight or for 8-24 hours. Because of the alcohol content, it will take 12-24 hours to fully freeze the wine. If wine is completely frozen, put cubes into a blender to turn the Rosé wine into a slushie-type substance.
2. Put vodka, lime juice and Barkers syrup in to a clean jar and stir
3. Take the frozen Giesen Rosé out of the freezer, and remove cubes from the ice cube tray/s. Blend the Giesen Rosé until it is a nice slushie consistency. Add to Jar with other ingredients.
4. Put lid on jar and shake, shake, shake...
5. Remove lid on jar and add fresh fruit of your choice. In this case Charles used fresh raspberries, grapes and some mint leaves.
6. Enjoy!
Frosé. Your Kiwi drink for summer. You're welcome.
(If living in NZ, to purchase your Giesen Rosé head to otherwise it is available in leading liquor retail stores across NZ)
