PSQ005: FURESSHU LUCID http://www.projectsquared.net
PSQ005: FURESSHU LUCID / LUCID (SHIFTED REMIX) / ALL I WANT 12 INCH
PSQ005 is Furesshu's follow up 12 inch release to last year's trio of tracks (PSQ002) that garnered attention from Ben Klock, Sigha and Marcel Dettmann, who continues to play out his music regularly. Furesshu's bleak and powerful remix of L-OW (PSQ003) has been criminally under appreciated, and now his second 12 inch on Project Squared (PSQ005) will showcase a more House influenced, but still Techno at its core, sound with 'Lucid' and 'All I Want'. Both tunes work around short vocal snippets, employing them to melodic, repetitive effect within a sparse but subtly evolving soundstage.
Providing a remix of 'Lucid', Shifted converts the House tinged original into straight up, heavy hitting Techno, with relentless kick drum, melodic stabs and the occasional clap. Shifted has made a big impact with his debut 12 on Mote Evolver and he has a stack of 12s lined up for 2011 on some very solid labels. Similarly, with a forthcoming release on the new Commune label in early 2011 and more to follow, this is going to be a big year for Furesshu.

Double Headed QJs on SiMingYi Viaduct 2004
The clip starts wide to reveal the context of this railway engineering marvel. The SiMingYi Bridge is in the lower left quadrant of the view. At this point, the eastbound train has traversed line on the valley floor in the distance on the left, and passed over the bridge in the distance near the village of SiMingYi. We zoom in on the train revealing double headed QJs working hard upgrade. Listen as the exhaust sounds of the two locomotives go in and out of synch with occasional slipping. The road where cars are passing by marks the starting point of our hike up the mountain. As the train passes over the viaduct the smoke casts a beautiful shadow on the landscape below. The clip ends with the engines going through a cut and disappearing into SiMingYi tunnel. Hadashan Station is about one more kilometer on the other side of the mountain.

Port Talbot is a town located in the county borough of Neath Port Talbot, Wales. It is best known as the home of the Port Talbot Steelworks, one of biggest steelworks in the world, which currently employs an estimated 10% of the town's population. The steelworks has for many years been under threat of closure.
The town is built along the eastern rim of Swansea Bay in a narrow strip of coastal plain surrounding the River Afan estuary. Swansea is visible on the opposite side of Swansea Bay.
