Shop till you drop in Queenstown & Arrowtown
What's happening? Rug up and venture into the night. Arrowtown looks magical in the winter twilight with fairy lights and braziers lining the streets and cosy alleys. Families and couples stroll the streets browsing in over 40 shops. Experience Arrowtown's Winter Twilight Trading, running every Thursday in August 2012.
Then we hit the streets of Queenstown to shop till we drop. We poke our noses into boutique stores like Decode, Angel Divine, Megaphone, Goddess, Kappa Design Gallery, The OK Gift & Souvenir shop and The Supply Room.
Then it's back to Arrowtown for a chat with Gary from The Jade & Opal Factory who lets us into the Jade Carving Studio and shares with us his extensive knowledge and experience with jade and greenstone (called ponamu in Maori). An interesting look into the world of one of New Zealand's favourite souvenir keepsakes.

Queenstown // New Zealand
This day we explore what Queenstown had to offer starting with breakfast at Vudu Cafe. Taking a stroll in the main town led us to the view of Lake Wakatipu, it was so nice while the town was still quiet in the morning. Then we took the gondola up to Queenstown Skyline / Bob's peak to do the Luge. We also were able to drive to Glenorchy to do the Routburn Track. Coming back to town via the Queenstown Garden to take in the beautiful Queenstown sunset that day.

Best shopping on a day trip from Queenstown or Wanaka - Cardrona Distillery
For those visiting Queenstown or Wanaka, the Cardrona Valley is becoming the new must see day trip destination.
The beautifully scenic road along Cardrona Valley merges with the route over the Crown Range which, at 1121 metres, is the highest main road in New Zealand.
Our choice for best shopping is the Cardrona Distillery. The very best in equipment has been sourced from the four corners of the earth, to make great hand-crafted Whisky, Gin, Vodka and Liqueurs. All of Cardrona's spirits are made from scratch on site at this 100% family-owned and operated business. Already winning awards, the world's newest spirit making location

Day 10 - Queenstown
I try the local delicacy Fergburger which was yummy, though I may prefer the pies next door at FergBaker... THAT is what I'd tell tourist they need to try!
Then the Big Night Out pub crawl only had 4 attendees so was cancelled, I'll get a refund and still made some nice friends and went on a night out anyway - winner!
Queenstown/Glenorchy
Did a bit of traveling around Central Otago. This gem absolutely didn't disappoint! Such a beaut!! Pardon our unsynchronised dance moves. Obviously, we're not dancers ????
Queenstown 2019
