This great little Museum is aimed at 6-12 year-olds and their families and is situated in Roald Dahl’s home village. Visitors can find out about Roald Dahl’s life and stories using touch-screen monitors, hands-on exhibits and activities. Workshops, events and free storytelling take place at weekends and in school holidays.

Our family day out visiting the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre at Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire - discovering the author's life and how he wrote his famous tales, as well as plenty of trivia and details of some of his best-known children's books. There are also storytelling and craft sessions, plus a whole area dedicated to inspiring children's creativity. A perfect family day out with kids.

This great little award-winning and family-friendly Museum contains two fun and fact-packed biographical galleries, the fantabulous interactive Story Centre and a sunny courtyard. Situated in Great Missenden where Roald Dahl lived for over 36 years, it was created as a home for the author's archive (which visitors can see on our regular tours) and as a place to inspire creativity and a love of reading in children, about which Roald Dahl was passionate.

Virtual walk around an English village
Today's virtual walk is in Great Missenden which was reported in 1293 by Sir William de Missenden as being founded in 1333. There is some dispute to this as an old convent register date its foundation to 1131. an ancient court record says it was founded by the Doyleys.
