Liverpool Rock n Roll Marathon - FULL VIDEO TOUR (England, UK)
We decided to run the Liverpool Rock n Roll Marathon! It was really cool!! You run past BOTH football clubs: Liverpool and Everton, past iconic Beatles Statues and even by Penny Lane! Would do again, amazing!
Start Time: 10:00 AM
Time Limit: 6 hours
Start Line: Albert Dock, Liverpool Waterfront
Finish Line: Liverpool Echo Arena, Liverpool Waterfront
MARATHON COURSE DESCRIPTION
The iconic Royal Albert Dock start line followed by the Unesco World Heritage sites of Pierhead, the Beatles Statue and the three Graces.
After mile 1 the course no longer climbs the (now closed) flyovers, but turns left at the Superlambanana and proceeds across Leeds Street.
The route to the north of the city and the two football stadia from the city centre (Mile 1) to Netherfield road (Mile 3) has changed and no longer follows Islington.
We will take in even more of Everton’s Goodison Park stadium this year, passing through the famous Dixie Dean gates, taking in a full 360-degree loop of the stadium and enjoying the Evertonian hospitality at a mini Fanpark with band, DJ, water station and support in front of the stadium.
Stanley park will still play host to miles 5-7 of the course before the course passes adjacent to Anfield Stadium, and then retraces the same course back to the city centre.
With the Magic Weekend Rugby League event taking place at Anfield Stadium throughout the weekend, we are not able to pass through the stadium this year. The course will still pass close by, giving you a great view of the Iconic home of Liverpool FC.
St Domingo Road (AKA Marathon Mountain) has been removed from the course. This was a steep, tough hill at 7.5 miles that no longer needs to be climbed. Prince Edwin Street will be the most significant climb this year, but it is earlier in the course and shorter.
After returning to the city centre, the course follows the same route as previous years, winding its way past sights such as the Eleanor Rigby Statue, Matthew Street, John Lennon Statue, Cavern Club, Chinese Arch, Anglican Cathedral, Princes Park, Sefton Park, Penny Lane and the Otterspool Promenade. Finishing in the same as place as 2018 on the Kings Parade waterfront at Exhibition Centre Liverpool. The only slight change is the route around Sefton Park which has been adjusted regain some lost distance earlier in the course.

Walking Around Lincoln
I took a walk around Lincoln, going up Steep Hill, around Lincoln Cathederal and back down for a walk around the Marina. I really love the architecture in old towns like this, and even though Steep Hill is a killer to walk up, it's a real experience not to be missed. While it might be hard work, the quaint olde style shops are fantastic.
Liverpool Rock n Roll Marathon Running Expo - VIDEO TOUR (England, UK)
This is the Expo for the Liverpool Rock n Roll Marathon! It's held the day before the event where you collect your bib and T-Shirt. They usually have a bunch of free samples too! Oh, and sometimes people buy stuff haha!

Horse and Mule Sale barns of Grand Island, Nebraska/American Doorstop Project
A Hall County Historical Society Voices of the past presentation on
Giving horsepower to the war effort, central Nebraska once played a vital role on the battlefield and the farm. Now, history buffs are trying to draw attention to a forgotten piece of history – the world’s largest horse sale.
A hog sale in 2002 closed down the Third City Livestock Commission for good. It was a far cry from the sales of a century ago, when its predecessor sold more horses and mules in Grand Island, than anywhere in the world.
Jody Lamp said, “Grand Island was named world’s largest, not state’s largest, not America’s largest. World’s largest horse and mule market existed here in Grand Island and there’s no book, nothing I can get my hands on.”
So Jody Lamp and collaborator Melody Dobson have set out to write that book. They envision a website and more, something they call the American Door Stop Project, where the common thread is how agriculture shaped the nation.
Dobson said, “It’s our opportunity to come and spotlight on communities and say your story is big, your story is significant and the story is important.”
At its peak, Lamp said the Grand Island sale barn sold 16,000 horses a week in 1916. Some of them were war horses.
Lamp said, “The British and French armies came to this area and set up stables.”
But after World War I, cars replaced horses. Now, Grand Island’s world famous barns are nearly forgotten.
Dobson said, “You’d think there’d be some two by fours, but it’s gone and that’s the story we’re trying to recreate, is what happened and how successful it was to this community.”
The legacy lives on, with connections to livestock auctions that continue to this day in Billings, Montana.
Plus Grand Island still produces horsepower for the farm with Case IH and New Holland combines built in the city.
But the original workhorses have faded into history.
Lamp said, “We want people to know all the stepping stones it took to make cities like Grand Island what they are today, and whole state of Nebraska, it is the number one industry in Neb. – agriculture.”
The American Doorstop Project recognizes the importance of the relationships that history creates. There’s more to it than just the records and documents for preserving our legacy. There’s the discovery of the people, places, events and spaces that unite us and bring us together. Each introduction gives us a rich narrative to share and brings the story to life.
The Agrarian thread of our country’s agriculture heritage weaves a tapestry within our communities. It unveils their remarkable contributions that impact us today. Each generation’s influence inspires and motivates us to continue making a difference for the next generation to come. Meet new friends and explore the forgotten events. We’ll share stories of significance and reacquaint ourselves with details to provide insights for a clearer understanding of years gone by. Learn more about our agriculture roots and history through events, programs and publications. The American Doorstop Project recognizes the importance of the relationships that history creates. SUMMARY
=======
Louisville ( (listen) LOO-ə-vəl, (listen) LOO-ee-vil, (listen) LUUV-əl) is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the 29th most-populous city in the United States. It is one of two cities in Kentucky designated as first-class, the other being Lexington, the state's second-largest city. Louisville is the historical seat and, since 2003, the nominal seat of Jefferson County.
Louisville was founded in 1778 by George Rogers Clark, making it one of the oldest cities west of the Appalachian Mountains. It is named after King Louis XVI of France. Sited beside the Falls of the Ohio, the only major obstruction to river traffic between the upper Ohio River and the Gulf of Mexico, the settlement first grew as a portage site. It was the founding city of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, which grew into a 6,000-mile (9,700 km) system across 13 states. Today, the city is known as the home of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, the Kentucky Derby, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), the University of Louisville and its Louisville Cardinals athletic teams, Louisville Slugger baseball bats, and three of Kentucky's six Fortune 500 companies. Its main airport is also the site of United Parcel Service's worldwide air hub.
Since 2003, Louisville's borders have been the same as those of Jefferson County, after a city-county merger. The official name of this consolidated city-county government is the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government, abbreviated to Louisville Metro. Despite the merger and renaming, the term Jefferson County continues to be used in some contexts in reference to Louisville Metro, particularly including the incorporated cities outside the balance which make up Louisville proper. The city's total consolidated population as of the 2017 census estimate was 771,158. However, the balance total of 621,349 excludes other incorporated places and semiautonomous towns within the county and is the population listed in most sources and national rankings.
The Louisville-Jefferson County, KY-IN Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), sometimes also referred to as Kentuckiana, includes Louisville-Jefferson County and 12 surrounding counties, seven in Kentucky and five in Southern Indiana. As of 2017, the MSA had a population of 1,293,953 , ranking 45th nationally.
