Cowboy Country Cody (Beartooth Mountains Wyoming)
This is an area of Wyoming that is steeped in Cowboy History with Wild Bill Cody establishing the township in the 1900's, there is a state park and dam named after him too.
We did a little business in town, tried our hand at fly fishing, but were not successful, and toured the Bear Tooth Mountains a couple of times to see the spectacular roads and sweeping views.
There is a William Cody museum in town and a year round rodeo at the park, we preferred the outdoors but have been told both are excellent.
Cody is a lovely township, very western cowboy style, but also a dash of boutique and coffee shops and restaurants - which is lovely.
A lot of history in the area.
Yellowstone National Park emergency crews practice rescue drills
On Saturday, 20 or more police, fire and rescue vehicles converged near Mammoth in Yellowstone National Park. Don’t worry - there was no emergency, but a very lifelike training exercise.
