The Tibes Indigenous Ceremonial Center in Barrios Tibes and Portugués, Ponce municipality, Puerto Rico, houses one of the most important archeological discoveries made in the Antilles. The discovery provides an insight as to how the indigenous tribes of the Igneri and Taínos lived and played. Tibes is the oldest Antillean Indian ceremonial and sports complex yet uncovered in Puerto Rico. Within its boundaries is also the largest indigenous cemetery yet discovered – consisting of 186 human skeletons, most from the Igneri and the rest from the pre-Taíno cultures.Based on the orientation of the ceremonial plazas, this is also believed to be the oldest astronomical observatory in the Antilles

Actividad Paranormal en el Centro Ceremonial de Tibes (Ponce, Puerto Rico)
Mucho antes que este lugar fuera descubierto durante una tormenta, personas que entraban a estos terrenos a buscar frutas alegaban que veían indios cruzando de árbol en árbol. Nadie todavía sabia que este lugar era uno de los lugares con mas significado histórico en el caribe. Después que hacen el descubrimiento y hacen los estudios arqueológicos , lo abren para el publico como un museo. Durante muchos años personas han reportado apariciones fantasmales en este lugar. Empleados en el pasado renunciaron, ya que en el lugar había mucha actividad paranormal. Hoy en día este es uno de los lugares con mas actividad paranormal en Puerto Rico. Es por eso que yo Bruce Jay El El Cazafantasmas decidí ir con mi grupo Caribbean Paranormal a investigar si en este lugar estaban ocurriendo esos acontecimiento sobrenaturales que visitantes, empleados y vecinos del área alegan que sucede todos los días.

The city has been christened as Museum City for its many quality museums.[141][142] All museums in Ponce are under municipal government administration. On September 15, 2004, the last four museums not under local control were transferred from the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture to the Ponce Municipal Government by act of the Puerto Rico Legislature.[143] However, these four museums (Casa Armstrong Poventud, Casa Wiechers-Villaronga, Museo de la Música Puertorriqueña, and Casa de la Masacre) continue to be controlled by the ICP.[144][145] Downtown Ponce in particular features several museums and landmarks.[146]
Plaza Las Delicias, the town's main square, features a prominent fountain (namely, the Lions Fountain), the Ponce Cathedral, and Parque de Bombas, an old fire house, now a museum, that stands as an iconic symbol of the city and a tribute to the bravery of its firefighters. This plaza is also a usual gathering place for ponceños. Other buildings around Ponce's main plaza include the Casa Alcaldía (Ponce City Hall), the oldest colonial building in the city, dating to the 1840s, and the Armstrong-Poventud Residence, an example of the neoclassical architectural heritage of the island.
Just north of downtown Ponce lies the Castillo Serrallés and the Cruceta El Vigía, a 100-foot (30 m) observation tower which overlooks the city. The Serralles castle is reported to receive nearly 100,000 visitors every year.[147] The hill on which the Cruceta is located was originally used by scouts to scan for incoming mercantile ships as well as invading ones. The invasion of American troops in 1898 was first spotted from there.
Ponce is home to Puerto Rico's oldest cemetery; in fact, it is the oldest cemetery in the Antilles. In the city outskirts, the Tibes Indigenous Ceremonial Center was discovered in 1975 after hurricane rains uncovered pottery.[148] The center is the site of the oldest cemetery uncovered up to date in the Antilles. With some 200 skeletons unearthed from the year 300 AD, it is considered the largest and the most important archaeological finding in the West Indies.[149][150] Two other cemeteries in Ponce worth noting are the Panteón Nacional Román Baldorioty de Castro and the Cementerio Catolico San Vicente de Paul, both of which are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Cementerio Catolico San Vicente de Paul has the most eye-catching burial constructions of any cemetery for the wealthiest families, both local and foreign-born, of southern Puerto Rico.[151]

Documental que educa sobre el valor histórico-cultural de lo que se conoce en la actualidad como el Centro Ceremonial Indígena de Tibes. El lugar en un yacimiento arqueológico habitado por las culturas precolombinas denominadas como pretainas y tainas que habitaron la Isla de Puerto Rico entre el 100 al 1,200 despues de Cristo. El documental presenta estampas de la vida indígena en Tibes, animaciones en computadora y entrevistas a reconocidos arqueólogos y antropólogos.

ACTIVIDAD PARANORMAL EN PARQUE CEREMONIAL INDIGENA EN PUERTO RICO
Durante muchos años en Tibes Ponce, Puerto Rico se había hablado de un lugar sagrado para los indígenas que una vez habitaron la isla de Borinquen. Ese lugar tenia plazas, era sagrado y un punto de encuentro entre diferentes pueblados indígenas de Puerto Rico. Ese lugar hay en día es conocido como Centro Ceremonial Indígena de Tibes. Este lugar fue descubierto entre los 80's por una tormenta que azoto a la isla, que puso al descubierto artefactos y osamentas. Durante muchos años personas que vivían en las cercanías de este lugar entraban a este lugar sagrado a buscar frutas, ya que en este lugar abundan muchísimos arboles frutales y esta el rio cerca.
Personas hablan haber visto indios que se paseaban entre los arboles, pero lo que la gente no sabían era que estaban viendo los posibles espíritus de estos indígenas.
Este lugar paso a ser un museo y protegido por el Municipio de Ponce, donde empleados han reportado haber visto indios, escuchar cánticos indígenas, escuchar tambores y escuchar una multitud. Muchos aseguran haber visto humo y como si hubiera un fogón con cánticos indígenas. Este lugar fácilmente podría ser uno de los lugares con mas actividad Paranormal en el Caribe.

This is a video which records the one man show I had between August and September of 2008 at the Tibes Indigenous Ceremonial Park (Center), located at Tibes, near Ponce, Puerto Rico. You can see more of the art works at the following link:
This park is dedicated to the Taíno Culture, on which used to be an Indian Village is one of the most important archeological discoveries made in the Antilles. The discovery provides an insight as to how the indigenous tribes of the Igneri and Tainos lived and played during and before the arrival of Christopher Columbus to the New World.
I was inspired on the Taíno theme, with a far different approach never been considered by any other artist in Puerto Rico. My concept was to present the origin of the islands, especially those islands in the Caribbean, with some of the early symbolism created by those cultures that flourished in that part of the New World.
The way the islands were at first, without any pollution or land ownership was a fact that the European could not understand. The Islands are symbolically presented by the female figures, scuptures and installations. Any island is woman and mother who takes care of her children, who are not other than the inhabitants of theses small pieces of land floating on the ocean. The stones represent the origin of the islands taken place during the Pangaea and the process was assisted by all sort of spiritual forces.

Me inspiré en el tema Taino, acercándome de una manera distinta no antes considerada por ninguno de los artistas en Puerto Rico. Mi concepto fue el de presentar los orígenes de las islas, especialmente las islas del Caribe, con alguno de los simbolismos más viejos creado por esas culturas que florecieron en esa parte del nuevo mundo y que hace alución a nuestros indios Taínos.
La manera en que esas islas eran al principio, sin contaminación o títulos de propiedad un hecho que los europeos no podían entender. Las islas están representadas simbólicamente por la figura femenina. Cada isla es mujer y madre que cuida as sus niños, quienes son los habitantes de los pequeños pedazos de tierra que flota en el mar. Las piedras representan el origen de las islas que tomo lugar durante la Pangea y cuyo proceso fue asistido por toda clase de fuerzas espirituales. Mi trabajo es una manera de aludir al estado esotérico y espiritual, más que a regrear el modo de vida de las comunidades Taínas de esa época.
