Glasgow Cross Scotland, Tolbooth Steeple Timelapse - Nikon D3200
A short time lapse taken at Glasgow Cross with a Nikon D3200. It took 600 photos to make this 25 second clip. Nice effect, but doubt I'll do it again, as in my opinion it will reduced the camera's lifespan.
8 Things to Do in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom
Glasgow, Scotland's biggest city, may not have a tourist draw equivalent to rival Edinburgh's Royal Mile, but the city and surrounding region are home to 40% of Scotland's people. There is a lot to see in the city, and it's well-located for exploring the area by train.
As my Scottish ancestors are from the city and region, I've visited Glasgow a handful of times. I've enjoyed getting to know the city in between visits to sites associated with my family history.

Old Photographs Of The Trongate Glasgow Scotland
Tour Scotland wee video of old photographs of The Trongate, one of the oldest streets in the city of Glasgow. Trongate begins at Glasgow Cross, where the Tolbooth Steeple is situated, being the original centre of medieval Glasgow, and goes westward changing its name to Argyle Street at Glassford Street. It was around the 1560s that the name Trongate first began to be used. The name comes by virtue of a weighbeam erected in the mid 16th century. The weigh beam was where all goods that were brought in from the River Clyde were weighed and taxed. Tron was the Norman French derived Scots term for weighing scales, the region became known as Trongate. The Tron church, built in the 17th century, with its distinctive steeple and clock is the street's best known landmark, and was substantially redeveloped in the 1980s as the Tron Theatre. Historically, in line with the rest of Glasgow's medieval area, Trongate fell into decline following the Industrial Revolution as the city expanded westwards.

Scotland First Hogmanay Broadcast by STV 31st Dececember 1957
STV's first Hogmanay broadcast was in 1957 and came from Glasgow's Theatre Royal, home of STV's operations in the early days.
Director of programmes Rai Purdy presented this special in-house and on-location broadcast, with footage of revellers gathering at Glasgow Cross and the city's Tolbooth Steeple....There is also a ceilidh from inside one of the STV studios as well as carol singing from one of Scotland's finest groups, the Phoenix Choir.
Throughout the entire Commonwealth people will be celebrating, welcomed Canadian producer Purdy. But the way they celebrate is largely influenced by Scots.....It's a time when hospitality knows no bounds. Won't you join us? Here we go, as the saying goes, for a wee peek at the Glasgow Cross.
The year that was 1957 included such historical moments as the Suez crisis, leading to the resignation of British Prime Minister Sir Anthony Eden. It was also the year the Soviet Union launched their Sputnik spacecraft missions..STV had appeared on the nation's TV screens just a few months before this broadcast after being awarded the independent television franchise for central Scotland...The venture was spearheaded by Canadian businessman Roy Thomson, who described it as a licence to print money and had also acquired The Scotsman newspaper in 1953............................................
St Theresa Church Tower Clock and Steeple, Part Two
St Theresa Catholic Church in Denver, CO PartTwo. This was taken with a drone, to do a site survey of the clock tower and spire, which will be completely restored in the near future.
Horizon West Builders is planning to rebuild and restore the entire spire. As can be seen by the video, there is allot of deterioration on the clock dials- we are debating whether these dials can be restored, or if they should be completely re-fabricated. Special thanks to the skilled drone pilot, Nelson Scott of SES Lights for getting us these never seen before images.
