Introducing The Story of Tool Shed Brewing Company - Calgary Craft Brewery
We are partnering up with our good friends at Tool Shed Brewing Company for Western Canada's First Podcast Conference. Find them here:
Networking is key to any good conference, and we are proud to support a local craft brewery - and they are helping us with some liquid courage for the PodSummit Mixdown.
Tool Shed was literally started in a toolshed by Jeff and Graham - two friends who left their corporate IT jobs to pursue an entrepreneurial dream of building a brewery.
Now one of the largest craft breweries in Calgary, and even this part of North America - Tool Shed is paving the way for other craft brewers.
Everyone grew up being told to find something you love to do, and then find a way to make a career of it! Jeff and Graham realized that almost every home-brewer who’s taken that first sip of their amazing, living, home-brewed creation has experienced that slight smirk break across their face as they continue to enjoy the craft of great beer while fantasizing about a lifelong career of bringing this beautiful creation to like minded people.

Tool Shed Brewing & Keller Farms - New Norway, Alberta
“Eating is so intimate. It's very sensual. When you invite someone to sit at your table and when you want to cook for them, you’re inviting a person into your life - Maya Angelou
The goal for “A seat at our table” is simple: to gather interesting Albertans together around a table to enjoy an amazing meal of locally grown Alberta food, engage in rich conversation, and share the outcome while we celebrate our love of this land – linking it back to business & agriculture.
Its all about story telling - “A Seat At Our Table” was designed to bridge the gap between urban and rural(farm/farmer), getting these two groups closer together, prompting consumers to ask more
questions rather than making assumptions; but it’s became bigger than that – it evolved into everything “Alberta”. The economy, sports, arts, culture, travel, food, agriculture, philanthropy, talent, etc.
The table is symbolic to us – the table represents the hub, the gathering spot; the food we will provide will all be locally produced and expertly prepared; the conversation will be lively and sure to be interesting.
As for the guests around the table - We are inviting people from all walks of life, varied backgrounds, who are leaders in their areas of expertise, who are not shy or afraid to share their thoughts, who are
unique AND inspirational, who are great listeners and love to learn, who are proud advocates of their province and want to see it continue to grow and thrive.
This conversation includes Graham Sherman from Tool Shed Brewing in Calgary, Alberta and Scott Keller from Kellar farms in New Norway, Alberta.
Are you ready to join the conversation?
Calgary Stampede still doesn't allow local craft beer
interview from the CBC about the Labatt exclusive agreement at stampede which essentially locks out all local breweries from being able to showcase LOCAL to visitors coming to the stampede to experience Alberta.
