In 1957, when Toyota first came to America, Elvis was king of rock n' roll, big cars with tailfins were in and postage stamps were just 3 cents. After a poor start with a car called the Toyopet, Toyota came back strong in 1965 with the popular 90-horsepower Corona sedan.
Then there was the Corolla, Camry, Toyota trucks, the Lexus luxury brand, Scion, and the world's first gas/electric hybrid Prius...a car we built for the 21st century. Along the way, we've learned a lot and enjoyed the support of American consumers who have embraced the quality, dependability and reliability of our vehicles.
Today, Toyota is one of the top-selling brands in America and we are committed to continuous improvement in everything we do, along with breakthrough products for the future. We're proud to share some highlights of our 50 years of progress and history here.

Going To Driving School in Japan! (Getting A Japanese Driver's License!)
The secret is out! I'm getting my full driver's license in Japan!
I’ve been going to Fukuoka Prefectural Driving School to get my license and it’s actually a lot of fun!? I don't know why I waited so long to get this done.
I’ve always had a fear of driving and I was really worried I’d never pass in Japanese... (Okay I haven’t technically taken any exams yet so I can’t say I haven’t failed yet but) I was actually super relieved to know they have English textbooks and the tests can be taken in English too.
The actual classes are all in Japanese though so I haven’t decided which language I’m going to take the tests in, but now that I’m actually going to the school I feel way more confident. Driving on the school course is so boring. I want to get out on the real roads. :o
What's getting a driver's license like in your country? ;o
Special thanks to Fukuoka-ken Jidosha Gakko for allowing me to shoot when most people aren't supposed to be/allowed to be shooting. I really really really appreciate everybody allowing me to share this experience!

Day in the Life of a Japanese Car Repair Worker in Toyota
Living in Japan and working in a traditional Japanese office environment. This is a Toyota day in the life of a Japanese Auto Repair Shop worker, 30 year old, Erina. This is also a Japanese office tour inside of a Japanese auto repair shop in Toyota. We start this very typical day in her Japanese home, commute via Toyota car to her Toyota car repair shop. This is a day in the life of Erina and we get to see her with co-workers and Japanese mechanics in how they work in Japan. This is a peak into Japanese work culture as well as the work culture in Japan. We see her typical working hours in Japan and how it is working in Japan as a female in her position also known as a Japanese office lady, Japanese OL or Japanese salary woman. Her day in the life in Japan may be a bit different than some Japanese salarymen, but her experiences in the office and auto repair shop is quite common for Japanese employees in her position. The Japanese auto repair shop is also pretty common in terms of work-life. If anythings, the car repair shop is a very traditional office in Japan with Rajio Taiso, cleaning and work ethic. So all in all, this is an example of Japan life as well as Japan countryside life if you were to work in a traditional Japanese company. You should always be aware of Japanese culture when working in a Japanese office.

Toyota's car simulator Pursuit for Vehicle Safety
Toyota has introduced a car simulator to prevent road accident and give better user experience. It also help us to learn more about driving in different wheather condition at different places.
Here at Toyota, we analyze driving techniques using a driving simulator at the Higashi-Fuji research center in order to help develop active safety technologies to help decrease the number of car accidents.
Driving simulators developed and introduced by Toyota create a driving environment so realistic that the driver does not feel like they are in a simulator. This makes Toyota's driving simulators one of the world's best.
The driving simulator uses driving images and an adjustable speed generator to emulate a situation that is too dangerous to reenact with an actual car or a driving situation under a specified condition.
Studies indicate 93%of accidents are due to driver recognition misjudgment errors.
To help prevent drivers from these types of accidents, Toyota uses this driving simulator to step into the human (driver) domain and has begun the implementation of future active safety technologies.
