The Canada Line (Subway) in Vancouver, Canada 2019
The Canada Line is the third rapid transit line built in the SkyTrain metro system in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The line is owned by TransLink and InTransitBC and operated by ProTrans BC, and links Vancouver, Richmond, and the Vancouver International Airport. It is coloured turquoise on route maps.
The Canada Line comprises 19.2 kilometres (11.9 mi) of track; the main line goes from Vancouver to Richmond, while a 4-kilometre (2.5 mi) spur line from Bridgeport station connects to the airport. It had been scheduled to open on November 30, 2009, but opened three months ahead of schedule, well in advance of the 2010 Winter Olympics the following February.
The Canada Line was anticipated to have 100,000 boardings per day in 2013 and 142,000 boardings per day by 2021, but it has consistently exceeded early targets. Ridership has grown steadily since opening day, with average ridership of 83,000 per day in September 2009, 105,000 per day in March 2010, and over 136,000 passengers per weekday in June 2011. During the 17 days of the 2010 Winter Olympics, the line carried an average of 228,190 passengers per day ~Wikipedia

Perfect Match: Metro Vancouver Melds Bikes and Transit
Last month Streetfilms took a look at how Vancouver is making big strides toward becoming a safe bicycling city. As we learned while in town for the Velo-City 2012 conference, the city government is not alone -- it has a great partner in the regional transportation agency, TransLink, which provides transit service for 22 regional municipalities, plus funding for a network of major roads and cycling infrastructure and programs. TransLink views cycling as a complement to the agency's trains, buses, and ferries. In this follow-up, Streetfilms got to speak to TransLink officials about their vision for a transit system that works in tandem with active transportation, and to see some of the ways they're using bike infrastructure to bolster transit ridership.

*Closed Captions/Subtitles now available!
This is a narrated video about the Canada Line - and some of the nearby amenities, landmarks, and available connections from the fifteen stations in the cities of Vancouver, Richmond, and on Sea Island.
I had intended to make a production like this in 2009 with the line's opening, but due to considerable errors with the footage (and it was only filmed in 640x480 resolution) demanded that I abandon the project until much later, recording the footage all over again with a newer camera in a higher resolution.
[SNOW SPECIAL] Vancouver City Services - Plows, TransLink, Tows, BC Hydro Vehicles In The Snow
*** LIKE & COMMENT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE VIDEOS OF PUBLIC SERVICE VEHICLES!!!***
This special video showcases some of the many city services vehicles that came to good use during Vancouver's recent winter storms and snow days. City of Vancouver 'Streets Traffic & Electrical Operations' trucks equipped with snow plows and salt spreaders were seen clearing and deicing the streets around the clock. Many tow truck companies assisted cars and buses that were stuck or involved in accidents. TransLink and BC Hydro service vehicles were also out in force dealing with the chaos caused by this unseasonably cold weather. Thank you to all the men and women who work to keep our cities safe!

Buses in Vancouver, BC (Volume Nineteen)
The nineteenth volume of buses in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This has turned out to be a very popular series!
This volume takes us to four different locations, two in the City of Vancouver - Georgia & Granville Downtown, and Marine Drive Station in Marpole - followed by two locations in the City of Richmond - Bridgeport Station and Richmond Centre - Brighouse.
Of note - the new 2016 XN40 and XD40 buses were coming into service as this volume was filmed, between October 2016 and April 2017. The 1996 D40LF fleet is still going strong, despite impending retirement, and the closure of NVTC and the subsequent opening of HTC has created quite a shakeup of which buses can be seen where - before September 2016 no Novabus LFS were ever seen in Richmond. This - along with the new arrivals of the XN40 and XD40 coaches, means that both locations seen in this volume in Richmond now see quite a variety of different bus types!
