Redwood National Park - Trillium Falls Trail - Park Travel Review
Trillium Falls Trail in Redwood National Park is a 2.5 mile trail from Elk Meadow Picnic Area in Redwood National Park. Really nice short hike in the shade of the redwood canopy. Trillium Falls is a small waterfall, but the real story here is the hike though the Redwoods. The ferns are HUGE and you can certainly see why George Lucas chose to use parts of this space for his movies.
Thanks to Ginger for hiking along with us and powering us through at the end of our day.

Humboldt County - Trillium Falls Hike
There’s much packed into this short loop hike. The trail meanders through a hillside redwood forest. While not spectacular, the gentle tones of Trillium Falls prove soothing. Sun rays slant down among the old growth trees. Take a short side trip to an overlook of Elk Meadow. You just might see Roosevelt Elk, the largest Elk species.

Best of Northern California (Less House More Living) Trillium Falls
We took a day trip to Big Lagoon Beach and take a walk to Agate Beach in search of agates. We also took a day trip to The Redwoods National Park and had a great time at Trillium Falls after finding out that the Fern Canyon was cut off from a mud slide.

Trillium Falls
The Trillium Falls Trail circles through a remnant strip of old-growth redwoods next to a sawmill site. The grove was apparently left as a sort of ornament for the mill; there's a similar but smaller patch of old growth next to the sawmill in the Mill Creek Watershed in Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park.

Number 5: The Big Hike
Inexperienced amateurs attempt their longest hike to date. Beginning at Prairie Creek Campground the pair head North to Fern Canyon, then follow the scent of the ocean west until they hit the mighty Pacific. Traversing south they come to the Miner’s Ridge trailhead, weary but determined they summit several hundred feet and descend back down into the fertile prairie below. Exhausted they collapse in a heap. Today is over, but what will tomorrow bring...
