Pereyaslavl in 2 days. Cities of Russia. Things to do
If you search for the best places in Russia, I recommend you to go to Pereyaslavl.
Today we make a little trip to Pereyaslavl (Переславль -Залесский)
Pereyaslavl is a beautiful, small and ancient city of Russia .
It takes 3 hours to get there by car from Moscow.
The population is less than 40 000.
It was founded by Yuri Dolgoruky in 1152.
By the way Moscow also was founded by this man in 1147.
There was another important person in Russian history his name is Peter the Great. He was a Russian tsar in the late 17th century who is best known for his extensive reforms in an attempt to establish Russia as a great nation.
Peter the great lived in Pereyaslavl for a while because at the age of 16 he decided to build boats and found the city with large lake. That’s why you may see savedThe Little Boat of Peter the Great which he built himself.
One of the popular spots of this town is Blue Stone.
During the pagan times people worshipped this stone. Now people make wishes touching this one.
There are plenty of Churches. Some of them are open and they are unremarkable on the outside and very beautiful inside.
We lived on the territory of eco-camping and drank tea from a samovar.
The nature and the Lake Pleshcheyevo are amazing. For people who live in Moscow and in big cities, this town is the best solution to make a trip and have a rest.

Kievo Pecherska (Russia) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Kievo Pecherska in Russia.
Kievo Pecherska Lavra is one of the oldest, most important and largest monastery complexes of the Russian Orthodox Church. The Holy Gate of the Trinity-Gate-Church is the main entrance into Kiev’s cave monastery. It features Ukrainian Baroque architecture with stucco work and numerous icons. Gate churches were typical of Kiev Rus´ and also served as watchtowers for fortified walls. Later, great artists were employed to add further embellishments. However, the history of the monastery began quite modestly. Revered monk, Antonius, lived for many years in a monastery on the Holy Mountain of Athos in Greece. He subsequently returned to his home country and lived as a hermit for the rest of his life within a cave on the banks of the River Dnjepr. Further monks followed and a community of hermits was formed that lived under monastic rule and they lived in caves until construction of the eventual monastery. The monks dug corridors and niches in the soft limestone and created a subterranean system of cave churches and cells. Some of the monks have been mummified. That is why during the Middle Ages the caves were said to be a wonder of the world and the mummies were thought to possess special healing powers. During the 1000 Year Festival of the Christianisation of Russia in 1988, the monastery once again became a place of pilgrimage for its Orthodox faithful

Uglic (Russia) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Uglic in Russia.
On the upper reaches of the Volga, around two hundred and eighty kilometres north of Moscow, is the Russian town of Uglič. The Dimitrijvskaija Church is crowned with blue, onion-shaped domes that are adorned with stars. It was built in 1692 out of stone and replaced a wooden church. Everywhere are illustrations of the mysterious death of the heir to the throne on the fifteenth of May, 1591. The red colour of the church is a symbol of bloodshed. Ivan the Terrible had two sons. The eldest, Fjodor Ivanovitch, was thought to be insane but was crowned anyway and was supported by Boris Godunov. As Godunov’s sister, Irina, was married to Fjodor Ivanovitch, his dream of becoming Tsar was almost a reality. When news that the eight year old, Zarevitch, had fatally run into a knife while playing, it caused havoc. Three hundred years later the symbol of the Dimitrijevskaija Blood Church was returned to the place in which the savage deed had taken place. Subsequently, the Romanov Dynasty ruled for three centuries and Uglič became a place of sadness and remembrance of one of the most spectacular events in Russian history.
