FLYING OVER MT KENYA'S PEAK
White Cap Lager and EatOut Kenya recently organized #thebigbrunchparty, to launch brunch events that will be taking place in Nairobi this November.
White Cap has Mt Kenya's peak on its logo, hence helicopter and cessna caravan rides with Tropic Air around the mountain's highest peaks seemed befitting. Nanyuki was also a great location for the party afterwards because you can see the mountain from all over town!
We stayed in Maiyan Villas and partied at Soames Hotel.

Nanyuki Judicial Match Week
By Paul Mwaniki Cases
Court users in Laikipia County have been urged to revive their civil cases that are in court failure to which they will be dismissed.
This call was made by Nanyuki chief magistrate Jesse Nyaga during the ongoing judicial match week in the town noting that most people are abandoning the cases
Nyaga raised concern over the high number of cases being dismissed adding that in the month of July 37 cases noting that this is a wake up call for those who still have interest in their matters.
He said that Nanyuki Law Court is in shortage of one Magistrate considering it covers parts of central province in Kieni East and Eastern in Buuuri district thus increasing the workload for the three magistrates who are currently here.
The magistrate also said that a mobile court will be introduced in the vast Laikipia North District in the town of Dol Dol to ease the transport crisis for the public who have to come and spend in Nanyuki when they have matters in court for about two days.

Malindi The Deserted Paradise
The impact of the dwindling fortunes for the tourism sector due to the recent spate of insecurity in the country coupled with the yearly low tourism season has spread to other sectors of the economy that are dependent on a thriving tourism sector. Over 90% of resorts in Malindi for instance have closed shop rendering many Kenyans jobless, with a range of businesses including curio shops, fresh produce suppliers and the transport sector registering losses. Even Kenya Airways which is in financial turmoil blames its predicament partly to low tourists arrivals.
Mount Kenya Trust 10 to4 Day 2 Highlights 2018
CLASSIC - Held on Day 2, the Classic is an experience that has become synonymous with the 10to4. Starting at nearly 3000 meters, (10,000 feet), on the northern slopes of Mount Kenya, riders will descend some 70km over demanding terrain, through indigenous forest and wide open plains, abundant with wildlife, down to the Ngare Ndare Forest at 1940 meters, (6400 feet).
RUSH - Running concurrently with the 'Classic' on Day 2, 'The Rush' is a less arduous 56km ride but will still provide exhilaration for mid-level cyclists and those seasoned mountain bikers who spend more time in their office chairs than is good for them. Estimated ride time between 2 and 5 hours depending on ability.
SLIDE - Running concurrently with the ‘Classic’ & ‘Rush’ on Day 2, the Slide is a gently undulating and pleasant ride, suitable for all. Estimated ride time for this 39km route is between 1.5 to 4 hours, depending on ability.
Children between the ages of 10 and 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the event.
This race is open to individuals or teams of between 4 and 6 riders. For teams, the best 4 times being used to calculate the team prize
THE CHASE - The CHASE is a brand new trail running race that will follow the Slide cycle course. Starting at Borana Race Village, the runners will be transported to the start line on Ol Donyo farm. This is a ONE WAY route, heading through the farmlands, into the Ngare Ndare forest and onto the Borana plains.
HORSE RACE - The Altitude ride will be mostly, but not entirely over the Slide bike race route and incorporate a range of environments from community, farm and bush riding. It will take just under 3hours with a rest point at the Ngare Ndare canopy walk. The horses will ride as one group and will be professionally guided.
ENDURO - Enduro is a type of mountain bike racing where the downhills are timed, and the uphills are not. Riders are timed in stages that are primarily downhill, with neutral transfer stages in between. The transfer stages usually must be completed within a time-limit, but are not part of the accumulated time.
Enjoy the trails, have fun, meet people, ride great technical trails.
