Altona Early Years Hub time lapse
The Altona Early Years Hub, located on the site of the Altona P-9 College on Grieve Parade, will open its doors in January 2019. Check out our time lapse video of the construction of the hub which took place through 2018.
The new Council owned state-of-the-art integrated early years community facility will offer a range of children and family services, including long day care, three and four year old kindergarten, playgroups, maternal and child health services, early intervention services, and community spaces. This design supports a seamless early years’ service delivery and a flexible program model for families.

Nasa Star 2 5.5m
A later afternoon bit of fun in the buggy with the Nasa Star 2 5.5m from Born-Kite. Winds were light and variable - 7-10 knots. The park is 'Truganina Park' in Altona Meadows, just to the west of Melbourne, Australia. A very stable, easy to fly kite that parks 'n rides in little wind.

Adventures with Kate: Altona Dog Beach
A trip to Burns Reserve (aka Altona Dog Beach) in Melbourne. This is a year-round off-leash area for dogs and Kate loved it. She much prefers paddling in shallows than open surf. And, thankfully there weren't any submerged rocks to obsess over here (see our video Fishing for Rocks There was quite a bit of paragliding and paramotoring activity when we were there, but Kate didn't seem put off by men in strange costumes parading up and down the beach (as you can see).
