Tulum Ruins Tour : Wonderous World
Take a trip back in time to the maya times to the City of Dawn and experience what it was like to hang out cliff side on the Caribbean coast overlooking the sea. Pray to the diving or descending god with the 'setting sun', rain, lightning, and with the planet Venus. There is much to imagine here at this majestic place.

TULUM MEXICO! GUIDED TOUR of MAYAN RUINS! ???????? Vlog
Welcome to Tulum! This is a pre-Columbian Mayan walled city serving as a major port and trading center for Cobá, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. In this travel vlog, we are going to explore Tulum, the history and swim in the beautiful Caribbean beach in the Yucatan.
The ruins are some of the most picturesque ancient ruins in Mexico. Tulum is situated on cliffs along the Yucatán Peninsula overlooking the Caribbean Sea in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico.
The Maya spanned 3,000 years of civilization. Tulum was built during the end of the Mayan period during the 13th to15th centuries as one of the last major sites and managed to survive about 70 years after the Spanish began occupying Mexico. Today it is one of the best-preserved coastal Maya sites, and a popular site for tourists as it is only a 2 hour drive from Cancún.
We learn about the Mayan kingdom, their rituals such as sacrifice to the gods, how they sourced water and cotton from the ceiba tree, and their sophisticated trading system for items like obsidian, honey, fish, and cotton. We also learn about how they used astrology to help with farming. It is truly a fascinating culture and archeological site!

Tulum Mayan Ruins - Cruise Excursion 4K
The Tulum Mayan Ruins is an extremely popular tourist destination located in Mexico. Tulum is just a short distance from Cancún and Playa del Carmen on the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. It is one of the best-preserved Maya sites.
The Tulum ruins are situated on a 40 foot cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. There is a staircase down to the beach where visitors can swim at one of the most breathtaking beaches.
There are bus tours that stop at Tulum each day. It is also a very popular cruise excursion. Cruise lines such as Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival have tours that go to Tulum when in port at Cozumel, Mexico.
This video is a complete overview of the Tulum Mayan Ruins tour excursion through Norwegian Cruise Lines.
It starts off with a 40 minute ferry ride from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen. After you arrive, there is a short walk to a coach bus. The bus ride to Tulum is about 50 minutes long. Once in Tulum your tour guide will take you around the ruins and give you a very informative and entertaining overview of the ancient Mayan City. The guided tour takes about 45 minutes. After the guided tour you have about 90 minutes to explore on your own. You can take that time to walk around the ruins or go swimming at the beautiful beach 40 feet below the cliffs. After that you head back to Playa del Carmen and board the ferry back to Cozumel.
There is a short clip of my amazing tour guide, Juan. He is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. If you take the tour, hopefully you get him because he was great!
In the clip, Juan is talking about the one day a year that the sunrise perfectly lines up to shine directly through the temple window. That day just so happens to be June 21, the summer solstice.
In the video you will see the 3 major structors at Tulum.
Pyramid El Castillo (The Castle)
Templo Dios del Viento (God of Winds Temple)
Temple of the Frescos
Thanks for watching!

Visiting the Cancun or Playa del Carmen area of Mexico? Then you’re close to some incredible Mayan ruins, including Tulum and Coba. On our August 2017 trip to Riviera Maya, we took a day trip out to check out the ruins and a local cenote (underground rivers that were sacred to the Mayans). In this video, we review the highlights and provide some tips for those planning a similar trip.

We Went to Tulum... Best Trip Ever
Tulum is becoming more and more popular as a tourist destination.
Located on a cliff facing the Caribbean Sea, Tulum has clear turquoise, warm waters and white sand. It is located near many Mayan ruins, which is also a calling card for tourists. The weather is warm year round and the temperature never falls below 60 degrees.
It is only about a two hour drive to Cancun and an hour drive to Playa Del Carmen.
Around December is a great time to visit as the hurricane season is over and the weather is not extremely hot. But it is from January through March that you see the most tourists visiting the area.
The cost if Tulum is not as inexpensive as it once was. The high demand has elevated the price of hotels and restaurants.
Going from one spot to another can be far in distance, so walking is an option some times, but there are plenty of Taxis around, and bicycles are a good mode of transportation. Many hotels offer bicycles to rent, or even for free.
