Army Aviation Museum
There's a gritty sense of pride evident in the displays at the U.S. Army Aviation Museum on Fort Rucker in Alabama. Said to be the largest single collection of displayed helicopters, the museum also portrays U.S. Army fixed wing aviation dating back to before World War I. The museum is located on an active Army post; it is advisable to check first to learn current access and operating hours. (Have you subscribed to the Airailimages Channel on YouTube? Thanks!)

Army Aviation Flight Test at Edwards AFB
For many years, the U.S. Army maintained a flight test facility at Edwards Air Force Base, home of the Air Force Flight Test Center. Around 2005, the Army relocated its flight test establishment to Fort Rucker, Alabama; years later it again moved to the Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. Since vintage flight test film briefings sometimes re-used scenes from other films of the era, you may have seen a few clips from this before -- but we bet there will be something new here too. UH-1 armament and ordnance testing, early AH-1 flights, and a look at the Ryan XV-5 Vertifan are on tap. Enjoy! Have you subscribed to the Airailimages Channel on YouTube? Thanks! And here's a link to another vintage flight test film from the Airailimages Channel:

Welcome to the Museum of Aviation
The Museum of Aviation, located in Warner Robins, GA, has grown to become the second largest museum in the United States Air Force and the fourth most visited museum in the Department of Defense. The museum is a place that honors our veterans and their families and reminds our Airmen of their legendary Air Force heritage.

The History of Army Aviation
This film was produced for the Army's Aviation Museum at Fort Rucker, Alabama. It tells the story of the Army's integral use of aviation from its roots in the Civil War to today's deadly arsenal of Army aircraft supporting America's troops on the ground in any conflict.

US Army Highbluff AAF, Fort Rucker , AL 1986
One of a series I've made from a home movie a buddy made when we were both stationed at Mother Rucker in the late 80's. Alan came by and wanted a video tour for the camera.
It seemed like such a lark at the time, but looking back now, I'm so glad he made it. Brings back great memories. In the vid quick twr tour, then Alan steps out on catwalk to film helos training. Autorotations, anti-torque running landings and hovering.
