Колыма - родина нашего страха / Kolyma - Birthplace of Our Fear

How to get from Domodedovo airport to Moscow City Centre
For foreigners getting from Moscow airports to their preferred accommodation might be tricky. This video offers tips and tricks on how to get the best rates and make your arrival as comfortable as possible.
If you happen to arrive in Russia at Domodedovo Airport, there are a couple of things you should know. If a local needs to get a taxi they use services such as Gett, Yandex Taxi and Uber. However, if a foreigner tried that he would end up with a massive bill from their phone provider.
Another option is this “Taxi Stand” if you pay by cash you will be charged 3000 Rubles, which is almost 3 times the actual price. The most practical way for foreigners to get a cab is to approach the Gett stand. It only costs 1100 Rubles if you order it through the app.
The fastest and cheapest way of getting to Moscow is an Aeroexpress. The trains arrive in Moscow Paveletskaya railway station and depart every 30 minutes. You can pay for your ticket by card or even using Apple Pay.
AROUND THE WORLD without visas
You will not surprise anyone with around-the-world travel in the 21st century. People span the globe by land, water and air, on foot and by bicycles, alone and with their families. Generally speaking, any around the world travel is, in fact, a journey home with the longest detour.
Nonsense! Thus, around the world travelers are forced to think of new vehicles – from stilts to a children's scooter, or of new conceptual ideas.
Valery Shanin can not complain about lack of ideas. The professional traveler, writer and journalist, began his first circumnavigation back in 1999. He returned home only in 2002, traveling mostly hitchhiking. On the one hand, he has spent 1080 days for this travel. And on the other – only 280 dollars! This way having made one of the most economical circumnavigations.
Five years later, Valery Shanin had another idea. How about trying to circle the Earth as quickly as possible, by saving time instead of money? How many days would be necessary for this purpose? 108 – such is Valery's answer. After having returned home from such a high-speed expedition, Shanin decided, that the subject of circumnavigations was settled for him.
But how can the traveler stay still at home? And here, a new idea turned out! It came obviously from the former traveling experience, that was often connected with the burdensome procedure of obtaining visas. Communication with the embassy and consulate officials, unfortunately, inevitably saddens any most interesting travel. However, there are countries, visa-free for Russians! So, it is possible to go traveling, without addressing consulates. This is how the project The World without Visas was brought to life.
Valery decided to begin with no less, than with a circumnavigation.
Around the world without visas! - Shanin put forward the loud slogan, and left for Europe, Africa, Middle East, Indochina, South East Asia, Oceania, South America, Carribean islands. 38 countries in 255 days and with no one visit to any consulate.

Open House Lecture: “Knowledge Transfer in the Design Professions: Learning from Barcelona
The larger question guiding this panel concerns the transferability of models, ideas, or practices in the urban design professions. Can practices deemed successful in one city be effectively transferred to another? Likewise, can compelling ideas developed in one of the design disciplines (urban design, planning, architecture, landscape architecture) transform practices in the other? Barcelona is world-renowned for both its architecture and its regulatory successes in preserving and expanding public and green spaces, advancing the goals of urban compactness, generating a vibrant urban and cultural economy, and building infrastructure with metropolitan aims in mind. This panel, offering an opportunity for reflection and dialogue among GSD faculty, will take a closer look at the case of Barcelona. Panelists from each of the departments will speak about the city, its influences in their fields, and the larger pedagogy of knowledge transfer in the design professions. Moderated by Diane Davis, Charles Dyer Norton Professor of Regional Planning and Urbanism and chair of the Department of Urban Planning and Design; with Joan Busquets, Martin Bucksbaum Professor in Practice of Urban Planning and Design; Carles Muro, associate professor of architecture; and Chris Reed, AB ’91, associate professor in practice of landscape architecture.

Schindler HT 330A Elevator - Sleep Inn - Albemarle NC
Sorry about being delayed on uploading videos. I was getting things ready for the 2017 fall semester at the College of Southern Maryland. Saying that, rumors said that at the end of 2017, I would be moving out of Southern Maryland from Lexington Park to Rockville. That is, so I can transfer to Montgomery College. However, even after 2017 or months after, the move will never happen. Southern Maryland is the best to consider.
Abdu Malahi - 9/11 victim at the Marriott World Trade Center
When the towers were hit, it was Abdu who went room to room, floor by floor at the Marriott WTC, knocking on doors and waking up guests who were amazingly still asleep after the south tower was hit. I assume many owe Abdu their lives. He was one of the last people to leave the hotel building although employees were directed to leave the hotel immediately. Abdu stayed and rescued other people. This was how Abdu was. A selfless person. Abdu was a native of Yemen, a colleague and a friend. I will always remember you Abdu. Rest In Peace. This video was shot on Haloween before the attacks, in a Marriott employees evening arranged by Abdu, our boss at the hotel at a Mexican bar not far from WTC
