We are originally from the USA we left home in 2013 after graduating from college. We then returned back to the US a year later to build a normal life. We quickly discovered that it wasn’t for us and left home for good in 2015. We were nomadic for over three years across six continents and 80 countries. It took us 500 blog posts, thousands of nights in different beds, a few horrible meals and a ton of amazing ones until we chose to base ourselves in the Canadian Rockies. Now we travel for half the year and explore the mountains for the other half. We are incredibly grateful for the life we live and hope we can help you meet your travel goals too!

North by Northwest Territories (Pt. 2) - Stop-Over/Tour in Whitehorse, Yukon
November 8, 2019 - I'm spending one night with friends in Whitehorse, the capital of Yukon - and before the sun sets, I wanted to get out and visit the historic downtown core of this beautiful city on the banks of the Yukon River.
From Erik Nielson Whitehorse International Airport, high on the bluff overlooking the city, right down to the banks of the Yukon River where the S.S. Klondike rests, let's check out some of what this city has to offer, including Main Street, the Vistors Centre, the Yukon Legislative Assembly, some of the local shops, and of course, let's wrap it up at a local brewery, the Woodcutter's Blanket.
And a special guest appearance by Marge Simpson for some reason!

“Moving North” Road Trip to the Yukon
In early July my Father and I joined Dave Bell on a road trip to the Yukon. Dave decided that the Yukon was the place to be because of the skiing and mountain biking trails, and absolute wilderness. He will be moving there in the fall. We took his car and pulled a trailer with a few things inside. It was a three day journey until Whitehorse, where we stayed for a couple nights with his son. We then all drove down to Atlin, which is an absolutely stunning town of a couple hundred people, originally formed during mining days. Atlin puts on a music and arts festival each year that brings in over two thousand. It really gives a boost to the economy. We got to enjoy some great films and great music, and a cinnamon bun every morning.
We camped on the beach falling asleep to the waves crashing. The only thing that was questionable was having no showers. We ended up having to go for a dip in the glacier water lake which was the coldest experience of my life.
After four days we went back to Whitehorse where we met a couple with two daughters who have been cycling around the world for the past 9 years. We then got in a truck for the way back and drove straight for 36 hours all the way home. This trip was an amazing experience. Every view out the car window looked like it was from a postcard. All of it just makes me want to go back again and explore more.
Thank you Dave for inviting me on part of your adventure.

Northern Canada Road Trip Vlog 6 (Northern British Columbia & The Yukon)
Watch the video to see what challenges I faced to be better prepared then I was, when going up North ;) In the beginning of July 2018 I left Vancouver Island by ferry to the Far North unexpectedly because there was a sudden opening on the waiting list. While I slowly discovered the remote North, the endless lakes and its beauty, I kept on changing my plans. Watch to see where it took me and let me know in the comments, if you have any questions.
Rving North to Alaska: Exploring the Yukon's largest city, Whitehorse
In this episode we visit the town of Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory, Canada. We spent 2 nights in Whitehorse and while there we met up with our fellow Xscaper friends Landmark Adventures and J9B2 Adventures. We visit the Miles Canyon recreation area and also tour the SS Klondike, the largest stern wheeler that operated on the mighty Yukon River when steam wheelers and railroads were the only modes of transportation in the Yukon. Sky High Wilderness Ranch - Whitehorse, Yukon
During our stay in the Yukon the GCAT team was treated to a proper Arctic experience at the Sky High Wilderness Ranch. Like their mono says, it's the 'adventure of a lifetime'.
Located on the shores of Fish Lake only 30 minutes from Whitehorse is where you will find the Sky High Wilderness Ranch. One unique aspect of this experience is that all of the cabins are 'off the grid' meaning that there is no electricity or indoor plumbing. Visitors are thrown back into the simplicity of living and are treated to some time away from television, the internet, and telephones. After a day in the fresh outdoors guests gather around the kitchen table for dinner by candlelight and gas lanterns, and after eating can enjoy a round of cards or relax with a book.
The Sky High Wilderness Ranch has a kennel of 150 sled dogs and 24 horses so it is an animal lover's paradise. Winter adventures include dog sledding, snow machine adventures, moonlight mushing, and Aurora viewing by night. During the summer you can saddle up and do an adventure by horseback, go fishing, trekking, or overnight camping.
The GCAT team jumped at the opportunity for an outing of dog sledding. The friendly staff taught us how to harness our dog team, hook up our sleds and most importantly made us feel comfortable in this extreme northern environment. It was also a good reminder of just how much fun you can have outdoors in the cold and snow.
Regardless if you are just looking for a wilderness retreat or an extreme northern Canadian experience the Sky High Wilderness Ranch can give you a trip to remember. A big thanks goes out to Gary, Jocelyne, Ian and the entire team of dogs.
Next time we'll stay longer !

Best Things To Do In The Northwest Territories - Canada Road Trip Travel Documentary
In this video, we share some of the best things to do in the Northwest Territories, including Yellowknife, Inuvik, and Tuktoyaktuk!
Welcome to the NWT!
With more than one million square kilometres of land area and a population of less than 50,000, the Northwest Territories is about as wild as it gets. It's certainly not an easy area to visit (many places are fly-in, many roads are gravel, and distances are vast) but for those who make the effort, there are incredible things to experience.
With boreal forest, arctic tundra, some of Canada's greatest waterfalls, a vibrant indigenous culture, and boundless wilderness, this is an adventurers paradise!
We explored the NWT from August 16 - September 1st, 2017!

Special Note: We just released the Canada Saver Card, a physical discount card that gets you discounts at a variety of attractions, adventures, and activities across Canada! From helicopter tours to rafting, fishing, museums, and horseback rides, save money on all of them for less than $30! -

Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?
We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.
