Our stand-alone store at the top of Shields Road, Byker, has been described as Britain's most beautiful bicycle shop.
Whilst every Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op shop shares the same ideal of offering a fantastic range of cycling equipment for beginners and experts alike, each shop has its own character as you will discover when you view this video.
True to our workers' co-op ethos, this introduction to our bike shop in Byker was produced in-house by the Newcastle staff. The video was shot by Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op Newcastle member David Billbrough.

*NB: British Pathe website user has reported that the town is actually Newport - Gwent (Monmouthshire at that time). The transporter bridge is still in existence - but the docks are rather reduced.
Amendment June 2011:
Somebody wrote in to suggest that this is Newport Monmouthshire with its famous transporter bridge. In Cardiff the City Hall and National Museum of Wales are visible. This dates the film to after late 1920s.

Searching For The Perfect Pint In Newcastle: Al-Kee-Hol
Subscribe to Munchies here:
Newcastle, England is a northern party city that's rife with hen (a.k.a. bachelorette) parties, plus it's a great place to grab a late night snack called parma, which is basically a pizza made with chicken instead of crust. But besides the debauchery and greasy post-bar snacks, Newcastle is an excellent city to drink a few pints of real, cask ale. So, we sent two of our Al-Kee-Hol correspondents, Adam and Patrick, out for a marathon of real ales that took them to some old, incredible English pubs. Watch and enjoy.
