How to find cheaper taxis at Puerto Vallarta Airport
If you are not traveling too heavy, without too much luggage and if you have the time, a great tip for saving on the Puerto Vallarta Airport taxi rates is to go catch a normal taxi on the other side of the highway.
Puerto Vallarta's airport is a Federal area and taxis there have to have special permits and pay extra taxes and licences, so they charge more than the normal taxis in Puerto Vallarta.
This video shows how you can leave the area and catch a normal PV taxi from the airport to the rest of the area. You can go northward to Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerías, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Punta Mita and maybe even further away, to Sayulita, San Pancho or Lo de Marcos.
If you cross the highway, you'll also be able to uber into town, as uber drivers will not pick you up in the airport premises, not only because it's illegal, but they can also get a big fine and maybe get detained too.
I talked to the taxi drivers and they provided a phone number to call them (it's at the end of the video) and they guaranteed that they would charge half of the Puerto Vallarta Taxi rates or what the PV Airport taxis had quoted you.

Taking Public Buses in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico: Travel Tips
This episode I will be talking buses in Puerto Vallarta with my friend JR in PV.
JR, what about buses? Are the safe? Are you gonna find chickens and livestock on them? What do you expect when you get onto a bus?
JR: We don’t have chicken bus, going back we did. First what we have to understand the bus system here was not built for tourists. It was built to get people to and from work. For children to get o and from school, etcetera etcetera. The roads tend to go through the residential areas. The local residential areas where tourists will be completely lost.......

The DARK SIDE of PUERTO VALLARTA
We absolutely love the country of Mexico, but we were shocked by the things no one told us about Old Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
There are a lot of great things about PV but we think it's a city that's just not right for us. Since living in Mexico, we've visited quite a few cities as expats in Mexico and Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco might be our least favorite of them all.
Of course, we have different criteria than you when it comes to what exactly makes a city great, so watch this Puerto Vallarta blog and decide for yourself if you might be able to look past the things that we didn't like.
Are you wondering what life in Puerto Vallarta México is like? Everyone says great things about it but what's the ugly side of Puerto Vallarta? Here's our non-expert opinion as expats in PV.

Why visit Majahuitas Beach South of Puerto Vallarta Jalisco Mexico
Majahuitas is a beautiful little beach in Cabo Corrientes south of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. It has beautiful waters and clear golden sands, bordered by palm trees and the green jungle of the region. It's what one would consider the perfect beach when imagining a place to go relax in the sun, enjoy the sand and the warm and clean waters of the Bay of Banderas. If you are looking for one of the best beaches in Puerto Vallarta, although it is in the next municipality, it is really worth considering it.
What's attractive and why go
It is a very quiet beach, free from the hustle and bustle of the beaches near downtown Puerto Vallarta, there are no vendors, no music rumbling in the bars or restaurants, no crowds of people and the noise that entails. Here, the noisiest things are the green-emerald waves that break gently on the clear, golden sands of the beach. The wind rocks the palm trees and shakes the fronds, that could be considered another constant noise in this sub-tropical beach :-) So if you are a little bit anti-crowds, this is the place for you.
Where Majahuitas Beach Located (Map)?
It is in the southern area of the Bay of Banderas, is one of the many beautiful beaches of the municipality of Cabo Corrientes, beaches that are located south-west of Boca de Tomatlan, the last beach and town in the municipality of Puerto Vallarta that can be reached by land in a vehicle. It is located about 15-20 minutes from Boca and between the beaches of Quimixto and Yelapa. To locate it on a map, use this link:
How to get to Majahuitas Jalisco
It can only be reached by sea, as we mentioned the road continues to the south past Boca de Tomatlan, but no longer edges along the bay and these beaches of Cabo Corrientes are isolated and, therefore, more virgin, clean and quiet too. We recommend you first travel to to Boca by taxi, Uber or one of the many local buses that travel to Mismaloya or Boca itself, also the buses that travel to El Tuito, which is farther south, will do. It's about 20 minutes fromPuerto Vallarta's Romantic Zone. Once in Boca, walk to the village boardwalk (malecon) on the banks of the Horcones River and negotiate a trip with the local water taxis (pangas). If there is any extra waiting time, you can have a beer or juice by the sea enjoying the beautiful beach and the small protected bay. The rest of the trip you will do by sea, traveling along the edge of the jungle and the beaches by sea, you go by Colomitos, Las Animas Beach, Las Caletas, and Quimixto before you reach Majahuitas Beach, Cabo Corrientes. Vallarta Adventures, the largest tour operator in the area, offers tours to the site and has facilities there at Majahuitas, if you want to spend a more pleasant time, with service, drinks, activities and bathroom, it may be a good option to go with them. We can guide you and get the best prices, send us a message at tours@puertovallarta.net
What to do there
At Playa Majahuitas Beach Jalisco, there are few options and we recommend that you bring your own snorkeling equipment to enjoy one of the main attractions of the place, at both ends there are rocky outcrops that house fish and various marine species that you will enjoy observing. The sea invites you to swim and splash around and is very pleasant. The sand is a little coarse, so it is not advisable to let yourself be dragged by the water, some rubber shoes will help walk along the shore in a more pleasant way. The light color of the sand helps it not get too hot, which is good when it comes to walking and sunbathing. The obvious options are also to relax and sunbathe, but bring food and drink because there are no services on the spot. Also, do not plan to spend all day in the place because I did not see public toilets, I suppose Vallarta Adventures would lend you its own, but I have not consulted, be advised.
Is there where to stay in Playa Majahuitas Mexico?
Until February 2018, the obvious place was Majahuitas Resort Cabo Corrientes, right on the northern side of the beach and the hill, but the Chacala indigenous community did not renew the concession and now there is nowhere to stay in Playa Majahuitas, that I know of at least. Vallarta Adventures does not offer accommodation or camping of any kind in the place, for the time being. So the closest thing would be something in Yelapa. Contact our email reservations@puertovallarta.net for advice and the best prices.

CITY BUSES + trying HUITLACOCHE TACOS | Our Life in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico ????????
I started the day with a smoothie and a peaceful walk around Gringo Gulch with Copper. Later, Tim and I jumped onto a city bus for only $15 pesos and had tacos for lunch at one of the busiest taco stands in the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta for only $70 pesos. Not bad! And, at night, we explored Downtown during the Festival of our Lady of Guadalupe and tried HUITLACOCHE TACOS!!! CORN FUNGUS!

BLACK PEOPLE TRAVEL TO PUERTO VALLARTA? | THEBLKPACKER
It's difficult getting through the winters in Seattle, so I'm always looking for an opportunity to escape from the gloom and get refreshed. On this trip me and a few friends got out of the rain and enjoyed a much pleasant landscape in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Not only were we able to enjoy a beautiful Airbnb, but we were able to get out and engage with the culture there.
One of the beneficial things about traveling here is the value. Food, attractions, Spas, etc. are al priced in pesos so if you have a favorable currency exchange you could be saving up to 75% of of what you would pay in the US for the same service. So make sure you show love to the Mexican people and tip generously!
