River Fishing Near Whistler BC Canada
River Fishing Near Whistler BC Canada. We do most of our River and Stream fishing in the Village of Pemberton. Pemberton is only 25 minutes North of Whistler. Although there are beautiful streams in Whistler, we have found the size and quality of the fish to be much better in Pemberton. Lets just say it is well worth the scenic 25 minute drive through the Mountainous Rainforest.

Fly Fishing Small Lakes in Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton British Columbia Canada
The month of May is when the Big boys come out to Play. This is true when you are talking about stillwater fly fishing in British Columbia, Canada. The lakes have all turned and sit in that fishy temperature between 50°f - 60°f. As the days grow in length the lakes receive more surface activity in the way of hatches. Mayfly, Damsel fly and Black Gnat hatches drift across the local lakes like gun smoke.
It is best to divide the month into three distinct portions: the first is in early May when there will be the Hawthorn hatch. The Second, somewhere in the middle of the month after you have received 4 consecutive days of 20°c+ brings on the Flying Black Ants. The third is later in the month when the Mayfly is on. Throughout the rest of the month of May I have made a list of prolific hatches in British Columbia.

Teaching people about the joy of fishing and the serenity to be found in B.C.’s wild places drives Logan Wilkins to the rivers around Squamish and Whistler, B.C.
The owner of Trout Country Fishing Guides for 16 years, Logan says being able to spend time on the river every day sharing the activity he loves with a diverse client base is a tangible reward.
“Trout Country is an all-access guiding company,” he adds, noting his team offers guiding for everyone from pure beginner to seasoned fly anglers. He also caters to those who have mobility issues or are disable.

The vibrant ecosystem is supported by ample runs of salmon that provide the nutrient base important to all flora and fauna.

Squamish Day Trip , BC, 2012 Winter
River of Golden Dreams Canoe Tour
Voted Whistler’s number one thing to do, not only by visitors but by the locals! An enchanting journey from lake to lake, the River of Golden Dreams is a summertime classic. Begin your adventure by paddling across the historic Alta Lake where you will pass the original site of Myrtle Phillip's summer fishing resort. Following families of ducks and geese into the lush river mouth you'll paddle through flowing lilies and around bends of overhanging greenery. Flowing with the current, you can lounge lazily along with just a few strokes to steer through narrow passages. As the river opens up again on the other side you'll get picked up on the shore of glacier fed Green Lake.
