30 Things to do in Cape Town, South Africa Travel Guide Video Transcript:
Today we’re taking you around one of our favourite cities: Cape Town, South Africa.
We first visited Cape Town in 2015 as the final stop on a monthlong trip across South Africa. However, by the time we arrived, we only had a couple of days to spare and the weather was less than ideal, so we didn’t get to see very much.
We knew we had to return to do the city justice and also film a proper Cape Town travel guide for you guys. This time around, we gave ourselves a full week to spare.
Our days were packed with sightseeing, and with visits to restaurants, chocolate shops, wineries and gin distilleries, so without further delay, let us show you 30 things do in Cape Town, South Africa.
And that’s a wrap for our week in Cape Town, South Africa. We hope you enjoyed following along and that this guide gave you a few ideas of things to see, do and eat in Cape Town. As always, if you have any other suggestions for fellow travellers, feel free to share those in the comments below. In the meantime, wishing you happy travels and see you next time!

We are now joined from the SABC Seapoint studio in Cape Town, by a township tourism operator Siviwe Mbinda who has reaped the benefits of embracing Technology.

Is migration a reason for crime in South Africa?
Is migration a reason for crime in South Africa and if so, why? Talking about migration we often think of people that are migrating to Europe. But what if migration is happening in the continent itself? How are people in South Africa dealing with migration and what kind of impact has it?
A South African kills a Mozambican in front of the camera. The picture of this terrible act symbolizes the xenophobia, South Africa´s shame, according to the paper that day. At that time thousands of migrants were heading towards Europe. But migrants from Africa are also heading towards South. Their arrival is causing just as much frustration and stress as it causes in other parts of the world. What is the reason why a South African kills a Mozambican? What is the motivation behind it? Dutch Journalist Bram Vermeulen is looking for answers.
In our travel series the Trek, Bram Vermeulen travels through Africa to get to know the key players in the migration debate. The Trek is a current and urgent travel series, close to the migrants in an attempt to understand more about the main debate topic of our time. It is about the migrants, and thus, also about ourselves.
Not all migration from Africa goes to Europe. More than ninety percent remains within the continent, and for example, travels towards economic powers like South Africa. But there's also no one waiting for newcomers there. In this episode, Bram Vermeulen investigates the murder of a Mozambican worker in the township of Alexandra and the role of an evil king.

Day Trip From Lima, Peru | Pachacamac Ruins + Peruvian Food Buffet + Peruvian Folk Dancing
Join us for a day trip from Lima, Peru as we head 40 kilometers outside of the city centre to visit the Pachacamac Ruins and Museum followed by a Peruvian food buffet at Dpaso Mamacona which also featured traditional Peruvian folklore dancing, music and horse performance.
Pachacamac located in the Valley of the Lurín River is named after the earth maker and flourished for 1,300 years before Spanish invasion. Some of the famous archeological structures include the pyramids and temple of the sun.
After visiting this site and the museum we head over to Dpaso Mamacona where we had an amazing Peruvian food buffet featuring appetizers, mains and desserts. During the meal we were entertained by Peruvian folklore dancing and music and following the meal we witnessed a horse performance.
Overall, it was a fantastic day trip from Lima and something we'd recommend if you've been in the city for a whole and you're looking for a change of scenery.

Day Trip From Lima, Peru | Pachacamac Ruins + Peruvian Food Buffet + Peruvian Folk Dancing Travel Video Transcript:
It is time for a day trip. We have been spending a lot of time in Lima. And today we finally convinced my Aunt to take us somewhere. It is nice of her to be honest. So we at Pachacamac. We drove maybe about an hour outside of Lima. It was a very short drive to be honest. So the plan is we're going to visit the museum of Pachacamac, then the ruins of Pachacamac. And then we are going to a show to see the Peruvian horses do the dance. It is like a horse show. It is kind of like the Peruvian gauchos right? It should be really cool. From what I've read we have a buffet. We have a Peruvian buffet for so we're going to be eating a lot of really good Peruvian food too. So basically three really awesome activities for the day. Let's get started.
Pachacamac is an archeological site that sits 40 kilometers southeast of Lima in the Lurin Valley. The archeological complex is made up of plazas, palaces and temple pyramids but our first stop was a museum to see some of the artifacts that have been found in the area.
A few quick facts before we start touring the ruins. So tickets we paid 15 Soles per person.
The earliest construction in Pachacamac date from the first century but that site reached its peak during the Wari Culture sometime around the 10th century. This was considered to be an important religious site and pilgrims would come to pay homage to their creator god Pachacamac. Who was associated with War and whose anger resulted in tremors and earthquakes.
We've left the ruins behind and arrived at Dpaso Mamacona.
This is my starter. I went for causa, some ceviche, tiradito and a few different salads.
I have potato with huancaina sauce which is really really good. I have causa which I also doused with that too which again is like soft potato inside. It is like a yellow potato shepherd's pie kind of. Inside you have avocado and meat. And then this was I forget the name of this one. Do you remember? Tiradito. Yes, it is fish with uh aji sauce. But a spicy yellow pepper sauce. You got octopus as well. Which is what is that one called again? Pulpo.
This is part of our Travel in Peru video series showcasing Peruvian food, Peruvian culture and Peruvian cuisine.

Apartheid in South Africa Laws, History: Documentary Film - Raw Footage (1957)
Apartheid (lit. aparthood) (pronounced [uh-pahrt-heyt, [uh-pahr-hahyt]) is an Afrikaans word for a system of racial segregation enforced through legislation by the National Party governments, who were the ruling party from 1948 to 1994, of South Africa, under which the rights of the majority black inhabitants of South Africa were curtailed and white supremacy and Afrikaner minority rule was maintained. Apartheid was developed after World War II by the Afrikaner-dominated National Party and Broederbond organizations and was practiced also in South West Africa, which was administered by South Africa under a League of Nations mandate (revoked in 1966 via United Nations Resolution 2145), until it gained independence as Namibia in 1990.
Racial segregation in South Africa began in colonial times under Dutch[4] and British rule. However, apartheid as an official policy was introduced following the general election of 1948. New legislation classified inhabitants into four racial groups (native, white, coloured, and Asian),[5] and residential areas were segregated, sometimes by means of forced removals. Non-white political representation was completely abolished in 1970, and starting in that year black people were deprived of their citizenship, legally becoming citizens of one of ten tribally based self-governing homelands called bantustans, four of which became nominally independent states. The government segregated education, medical care, beaches, and other public services, and provided black people with services inferior to those of white people.[6]
Apartheid sparked significant internal resistance and violence as well as a long arms and trade embargo against South Africa.[7] Since the 1950s, a series of popular uprisings and protests were met with the banning of opposition and imprisoning of anti-apartheid leaders. As unrest spread and became more effective and militarized, state organisations responded with repression and violence.
Reforms to apartheid in the 1980s failed to quell the mounting opposition, and in 1990 President Frederik Willem de Klerk began negotiations to end apartheid,[8] culminating in multi-racial democratic elections in 1994, which were won by the African National Congress under Nelson Mandela. The vestiges of apartheid still shape South African politics and society. Although the official abolishment of Apartheid occurred in 1990 with repeal of the last of the remaining Apartheid laws, the end of Apartheid is widely regarded as arising from the 1994 democratic general elections being held.

On May 9th, 2009, Supreme Master Ching Hai was invited to attend the videoconference on global warming entitled “Be Organic Vegan to Save the World.” During the conference, the Supreme Master pointed out that the oceans play a major role in regulating the global climate. However, fishing has severely disturbed the complex ecosystems of the world’s oceans. Since global warming spares no one, each person is responsible to do their best in awakening noble qualities in themselves; that is to adopt an organic vegan diet, which not only benefits our health so that we can keep diseases away but also helps strike a balance between agriculture and the environment. The Supreme Master said, “If we wish to live healthily and happily ourselves, we should let others live likewise. This is the best guideline.”
