EXPLORING ISLAND of NAXOS & the SPECTACULAR PLAKA BEACH (GREECE) ????️
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go visit the beautiful beach of PLAKA which can be found in the spectacular Greek island of Naxos in Greece. What used to be just a nudists' beach is now one of the most popular beaches of Naxos, retaining bits of its original character. It is still a favourite beach for nudists, who flock mostly off season but it also gathers families and couples, especially during high season, which “forces” the nudists to segregate off to the one end, towards the south of this long and splendid beach. Its main characteristic is the long and wide, white expanse of sand and the turquoise water.
The beach of Plaka extends for approximately 4 kilometres making it a very long beach. Only parts of it are organised so there are umbrellas and sun-beds along its considerable length. During high season it is quite busy but still quitter than Agios Prokopios or Saint George beach. There are so many things to do at Plaka beach that, according to its fans, you can spend the entire day there and never feel bored.
Naxos is a Greek island in the South Aegean, the largest of the Cyclades island group. Its fertile landscape spans mountain villages, ancient ruins and long stretches of beach. The namesake capital (also called Hora or Chora) is a port town filled with whitewashed, cube-shaped houses and medieval Venetian mansions. Kastro, a hilltop castle dating to the 13th century, houses an archaeological museum.
Greece is a country in southeastern Europe with thousands of islands throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas. Influential in ancient times, it's often called the cradle of Western civilization. Athens, its capital, retains landmarks including the 5th-century B.C. Acropolis citadel with the Parthenon temple. Greece is also known for its beaches, from the black sands of Santorini to the party resorts of Mykonos.

Milos Island aerial video by Dji Mavic pro Drone, Greece
Milos or Melos (mɛlɒsˌ -oʊsˌ ˈmiːlɒs, -loʊs/; Modern Greek: Μήλος [ˈmilos]; Ancient Greek: Μῆλος Melos) is a volcanic Greek island in the Aegean Sea, just north of the Sea of Crete. Milos is the southwesternmost island in the Cyclades group.
The island is famous for the statue of Aphrodite (the Venus de Milo, now in the Louvre), and also for statues of the Greek god Asclepius (now in the British Museum), the Poseidon and an archaic Apollo in Athens. Milos is a popular tourist destination during the summer. The Municipality of Milos also includes the uninhabited offshore islands of Antimilos and Akradies.
NAXOS, GREECE - travel shorts
Naxos would love to have the high-class tourism and the big bucks that come with it like their neighbor Mykonos, but they have their fields and their fruit and olive trees and their fishing and are content to be the kind of place that is attractive not only to those seeking sunlight, bars and bikinis, but also those looking for a little Greek culture to go along with it. Naxos is the greenest island in the Cyclades with impressively high mountains and fertile valleys. There are beaches that are among the most beautiful in Greece, a few minutes drive from villages where they still wear traditional dress, weave on old looms and live off the fruit of the land. Naxos is an island of beautiful old churches, monasteries and Venetian castles and homes. Naxos has been continuously inhabited since the 4th Milennium BC and excavations around the island bring to light ancient artifacts and buildings almost daily. So if Mykonos-style tourism makes its way to Naxos and it becomes the darling of the Aegean jet-set crowd, hey that's great, (I suppose). But in the meantime Naxos is happy with their reputation as a big beautiful island, rich in agriculture, tradition, some of the finest beaches in the Cyclades, and an interior waiting to be discovered.
Boat trip - Naxos Iraklia Koufonissia
Iraklia is a very small Greek island south of Naxos with approximately 300 inhabitants. It's a nice place for a one-day trip or for people who seek rest. Peace and quiet and unspoiled beauty await visitors to the island of Iraklia.
Koufonissia are two small islands in the Cyclades, they lie at the southeast of the island of Naxos, west of Amorgos and north of Ios. They lie next to each other, with a distance of only 200 meters (650 ft) between them.
Aegean Sea
The Aegean Sea (/ɨˈdʒiːən/; Greek: Αιγαίο Πέλαγος [eˈʝeo ˈpelaɣos] ( ); Turkish: Ege Denizi or Adalar Denizi) is an elongated embayment of the Mediterranean Sea located between the Greek and Anatolian peninsulas, i.e., between the mainlands of Greece and Turkey. In the north, it is connected to the Marmara Sea and Black Sea by the Dardanelles and Bosporus. The Aegean Islands are within the sea and some bound it on its southern periphery, including Crete and Rhodes.
The sea was traditionally known as Archipelago (in Greek, Αρχιπέλαγος, meaning chief sea), but in English this word's meaning has changed to refer to the Aegean Islands and, generally, to any island group.
