Victoria-by-the-Sea ~ One of Prince Edward Island's Gems
Join me on a quick tour of one of Prince Edward Island's gems, Victoria-by-the-Sea. Located about halfway between the Confederation Bridge and Charlottetown, it is a tiny treasure! It’s picturesque, quaint, and packed with awesomeness. With restaurants, theatre, a lighthouse and great views it is the perfect day trip from Charlottetown.

Victoria Playhouse
PEI's longest running little theatre, is housed in the intimate and historic Victoria Community Hall. A favourite entertainment spot for Islanders and visitors, featuring contemporary comedy, drama and musical concerts, it's easy to see why The New York Times calls the Victoria Playhouse 'A Hidden Gem!' Authentic, friendly and professional. Don't miss us!
Victoria Playhouse 25th Anniversary
A couple of years ago the Victoria Playhouse celebrated its 25th anniversary. Here's another (short and sweet) nostalgic look back in time at Victoria's past.
Victoria by the Sea, Prince Edward Island
August 5th, 2017. Image description: Catherine standing on the Victoria Harbour. She is wearing a black v neck top, denim shorts with running shoes. Hair pulled back with a clip. She's also wearing sunglasses. Video shot by Stacy Jenkins. iPhone 6SE. ASL to English translation: Hello, from Victoria by the Sea, Prince Edward Island. It's a very beautiful day. The last time I was here was around 10 years ago or so. The first restaurant was here then. The second section wasn't there until a few years ago. The lobster rolls at the restaurant. What to do there in Victoria? Kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle, et al. There's lobster fishing too. Have you seen a lobster trap before? I'll show you, come over here. Catherine standing by the lobster traps. The traps goes into the water, and that's where the lobsters goes in the trap.
Follow The Fiddler
Follow the Fiddler is PEIs first outdoor historical pageant set in Victoria by the Sea, Prince Edward Island
It was written and assembled by David Helwig with input from Erskine Smith. The narrators script was researched and created by Erskine Smith who also directed FTF.
The production was generously funded in development by the South Shore Tourism Group on Prince Edward Island and is a production of the Victoria Playhouse Inc.
The Story Teller - Prince Edward Island
We visited the beautiful village of Victoria by the Sea, Prince Edward Island, a jewel set on the shores of the warm Northumberland Strait. An historic seaport village and artistic enclave, Victoria is ideally situated for relaxation and recreation.
Here, we were very fortunate to spend some time with Erskine Smith, one of PEI's most prolific storytellers, not to mention a long-standing, successful actor and currently the Artistic Director at the Victoria Playhouse.
Erskine is a part of a select group of individuals that have managed to carve out a traditional niche in uber-wired world. You can find him performing regularly throughout the summer in this idyllic little fishing village or at many festivals and events around the island all year long.
As we walked about town, he delighted us with some stories and history about the village. The historic Victoria Hall, located at the exact centre of the village is home to the Victoria Playhouse which was formed in 1981, when residents voted to encourage the production of live theatre in their community hall. The Hall has been the heart of the community for nearly one hundred years and continues to bring people together, from near and far, to share in the magic of live performance.
Erskine has kept the island in hysterics throughout his career and has no intention of slowing down. So if you are in need of a silly story or belly-bursting joke, get out and see Erskine at work at the Playhouse.

1964 Victoria Centennial
In 1964 the National Film Board of Canada produced a film celebrating the centennial of Prince Edward Island's entry into Confederation. Three communities were selected and the film followed each one showing highlights of their celebration. Victoria was one of them. Another nostalgic look at Victoria's history.
Lez See PEI | Lesbian Travel Couple | Canada
We visited the small island province of PEI on our cross-country road trip this summer. Our favourite spots on Prince Edward Island were downton Charlottetown, Cavendish, and the picturesque red sand beaches and cliffs.
Video Locations:
Cavendish Beach
Richmond Street, Charlottetown
The Holman Grand Hotel, Charlottetown
Victoria Beach
Cows Waterfront, Charlottetown
Avonlea Village
Sydney Street, Charlottetown
The Ten Spot, Charlottetown
Anne of Green Gables Store, Charlottetown
The Chip Shack, Charlottetown
Cavendish National Park
North Rustico Beach
We absolutely fell in love with Charlottetown. The small capital city is full of charm, and has a vibrant arts scene - especially the theatre. We met so many locals, and they were all genuiely kind and open minded. The city is very small, and we recommend walking along all the small streets just off of Queen. There are so many great unique restaurants, pubs, and shops, along with, of course, all the Anne of Green Gables memorabilia. Definitely head to the waterfront in Charlottetown, where you'll find a Cow's ice cream (it's hard to not find a Cow's in PEI, because they're everywhere! But this one was particularly cute). Outside of the city, the Cavendish area is a must see, with its beautiful park, beaches, and Avonlea Village, a throw back town full of charm.

F&M- Victoria
Dear viewer,
This is a sneak peak of a new song on our upcoming Fall of 2010 release Victoria. This isn't the official video but it's shot by the writer and singer Ryan Anderson who was inspired by this very view to write this song... Ryan wrote the song in Edmonton while waiting for the bass player Kevin in the back of his van in a Superstore parking lot in Edmonton... it was -1 billion out at the time.
Wish you were here!
Sincerely,
F&M
