Villa Creek - West Paso Robles Winery
Villa Creek Cellars was founded in 2001 by Cris and JoAnn Cherry. The Cherry's goal was to harness the extreme terroirs of the west side of Paso Robles, to engage the palates of wine aficionados and novice consumers alike.
Winemaker, Cris Cherry's passion for wine stems from the world of fine cuisine. As owner and wine director of Villa Creek Restaurant, Cris created a diverse list featuring fine boutique producers from around the globe. This global influence has helped to shape wines he creates at. JoAnn's experience as a designer and her passion for old world wines that are rich yet complex and terrior driven have further influenced the wines at Villa Creek. Cris crafts wines that show their sense of place. JoAnn designs the labels that characterize what goes into the bottle.
The wines of Villa Creek are hands on in every sense. 3,000 case production ensures that Cris can not only over see, but be hands on in every step of production. The 3,000 square foot winery boasts state of the art equipment that allows for the best of old and new world techniques. The grapes are sourced from the finest organically or sustainable farmed vineyards in the appellation including James Berry Vineyard, Denner Vineyard and Luna Matta Vineyard which recently received it's Demeter Biodynamic certification.

Northern California Vineyard | Anderson Valley Estate, Mendocino County California
The Estate is situated in California’s renowned Anderson Valley where world class vineyards meet coastal redwoods. Leaving the valley floor you ascend the oak and vineyard strewn hillside entering the Estate’s grounds. As you wind along the Estate’s main road you disappear within the mountain’s folds only to remerge again to reveal yet another vineyard plot with one breathtaking view seemingly more alluring than the other. Arriving at the secluded Chateau you are welcomed with an all encompassing vista of the Anderson Valley. With views out to the reaches of where the Navarro River disappears into the redwoods and meets the Pacific beyond, one is well positioned to be witness to the most extraordinary of sunsets.
The Estate is 700 acres consisting of 4 legal parcels of more than 60 acres of vineyards, 30+ more plantable acres and the balance in virgin hardwood and fir forests interspersed with mountain meadows and seasonal streams. Gracing Estate is its French provincial inspired Chateau with its detached guest and office quarters. Tastefully dispersed around the Estate are two additional guest houses with one serving at times as an event site. Interspersed where needed are those outbuildings required to the maintain the Estate, i.e. barns, tool sheds, etc..
Anderson Valley temperate climate is where warms days are tempered by cool foggy nights and mornings producing world class wine varietals in particular Pinot Noir. The Estate consists of 3 distinct vineyard blocks ranging in age from 6 to 30 years old and ranging in altitude from 550 ft. to 1700 ft. with approximately 49 acres to Pinot Noir, 10 acres to Chardonnay, 3/4 acres to Syrah and less than 1/2 acres of Pinot Gris, Friulano and Malvasia. The Estate is bordered by a number of smaller vineyard operations as well as backing up against Kendall Jackson’s prized Outland Ridge Estate Pinot Noir vineyard.
The Estate’s vineyards consistently produce 90 point or better wines yielding over 65 to 105 tons wherein about 40% is used for onsite production with the remainder being sold for an estate premium to some of California’s finest labels. The Winery itself is situated on the high northern end of the Estate. The Winery’s production capacity stands at about 4,500 cases. Retail and wholesale sales are facilitated through the winery’s offsite tasting room in Philo.
The Estate, though, is much more than a vineyard and winery operation. The vines are planted in such a way to act as a man-made enhancement to already naturally stunning setting whose natural corridors act as a wildlife sanctuary teeming with native Colombian Blacktail deer, wild turkeys, quail, wild boar, blue grouse, ducks and the occasional black bear and predator. Countless trails transverse the Estate allowing for equestrian, hiking and ATV access throughout. More than anything, though, this is a transformative lifestyle estate that affords its new owners the ability to immerse themselves in an unparalleled natural environment and wine country living at its finest while having a serious commercial aspect that allows for long term fiscal sustainability.

CedarCreek Estate Winery - 01
OUR WINE IS OUR WORD
The story of CedarCreek is rooted in the vision of Senator Ross Fitzpatrick. Born and raised in the Okanagan, he worked his way through university in the orchards and fruit packing houses that dotted this beautiful valley. Although education and a business career led him away from the Okanagan, the dreams of what the fertile soil and climate of the valley could do were never washed from his soul. Years later his success in business afforded him the opportunity to fulfill his boyhood dreams by acquiring an orchard and small vineyard near Kelowna.
In 1988, just as he clenched his first fistful of soil from his farm, the small wine industry in the Okanagan was in danger of disappearing with the introduction of the North American Free Trade Agreement. But in Ross Fitzpatrick's mind this uncertainty presented the challenge to begin the renaissance of our grape and wine industry.
At CedarCreek the hybrid grapes gave way to new plantings of vinifera vines, the small basement cellar was transformed into state of the art winemaking facilities and the very best in viticulture was applied. This pioneering was tempered by patience and perseverance which became his mantra. These ideals matured into CedarCreek's philosophy: Respect the land, honour tradition, pursue perfection.
Today under his son Gordon's leadership CedarCreek has raised the bar. Our family's knowledge of the terroir of the Okanagan and dedication to the craft have brought many awards and international acclaim, including twice being named Canada's Winery of the Year. We are committed to building on our success by continuing to refine our approach to wine growing. Passion, tenacity, care and hard work are vital but above all we seek truth in wine. And the results show in every bottle. On that, you have our word.
